A perfectionist would have scrapped the Standard cars and went with Premium only. Including Standards is as far from "perfectionist", as your quote above is from logic.
Oh stop, we all know he's a perfectionist, kaz wanted all the cars to be of the same quality in gt5, but it was taking to long and Sony just wanted the game released, that's why we ended up with standards.
Listen you have your opinion on it and I have mine, lets leave it at that :D

Right. So logically he's had nearly 10 years to deal with the standards and they are still in the game.:boggled: Agree to disagree:tup:

If people didn't rush PD we would still be waiting for GT5, because Kaz wanted the "perfect game"
Rush? It was 6 years dude. If he had waited any longer GT5 would have been on PS4 and missed an entire generation of gaming.

"We all know kaz loves how pretty the cars look"
GT5 = 800 standard, last generation models. Yup, lots of logic here:tup:
What does that have to do with anything? Last gen models or not, he had the presence of mind (of a racing fan) to include the Ferrari 330 P4, the Ford Mark IV and the Jaguar XJ13 to recreate what people of that era wanted to see at Le Mans. He can't just, with the snap of a finger, get whatever he wants. He left in a lot of things people wanted because something is better than nothing. And from the looks of it, the more serious racers like to drive using bumper cam or the roof/hood cam and couldn't care less about having to use last gen cars. You're also basically saying, "Everyone has an iPhone now, and you don't have one? What a loser!"[/QUOTE]

I'm quoting Kaz. Kaz says they are improving the worst of the worst and not all of them will be premiumized. So what it logically means is X of the worst cars are fixed up, Y cars are premiumized and Z cars are left as they are. X, Y an Z are unknown.
You're saying that I'm reading too much into it, so I'm technically only assuming something is true based on past observations with the wording of the quote in mind. You're taking it further by somehow coming up with "Z" cars being left alone. That's just going above and beyond and grasping at zeh straws by this point.

You're saying all of that, even though as I've said, that in less than two years PD have managed to update most of the cars in GT5 through updates, whether it was by improving the shaders, lighting, shadows, sounds (that one's arbitrary based on the POV, but whatever) or by very slightly visibly modeling the seats and rear-view mirrors (with no detail, but if you've cared to notice, the darkened interiors are modeled very slightly). Then in cockpit view, you can tell each rear-view mirror is unique, they get the size and shape of the windshield and back windows correct along with the shape of the side mirrors. I don't know how they would do it, but denying that they did SOMETHING that a lot of people overlook doesn't make what I've said wrong. Again, THREE YEARS to update an unknown number of cars so you nor me can know exactly how far they've taken to improving the Standards or if there was a mistranslation about some cars getting simplified interiors.

Car Dealerships

All available cars are displayed under their respective manufacturers. There are no longer distinctions made between Premium and Standard cars as in the previous version of GT, but Standard equivalent cars will only have simplified cockpit views.

Regarding interior view…do you mean you would want a black frame interior view?

By blackframe, I meant same as in PSP (re: cockpit view)

In that case, it would be technically possible.
A few months later at Gamescom 2010, Kaz said that they already checked out the "black frame interior view", but he decided against it because he didn't like it. So, the official GT site has the Standard interior views labeled as simplified so one can only assume. I don't think a great majority of the Standards will get simplified interiors or if it's an unfortunate mistranslation, or in other words, a screw up. Still, let's continue..

Again, you remove one thought out of a sentence or a paragraph to make a point, but I never said that I know this to be true nor have I said that all cars will be GT5 Premium quality on the outside nor did I make this into a big deal.
The second part of that underlined sentence is a telling sign that all cars will look good (meaning much more up to par in comparison to the way all cars were modeled in GT5).
Not sure how you get "all cars will look good" from that when he's clearly stating not all cars are being updated, only the worst.

You simply cannot say
*Well, I think all of the cars will look good based on what I read from the quote

because you have no idea how many cars were worked on and how many weren't.
Fair enough (* * *though I never said they will all look as good as Premiums), but your only case is based on one answer from one question and based on pessimistic thinking and nothing factual...:lol:

You're seemingly trying to disprove my logic whilst only having that "low expectations and expect the worst" attitude as you pick the meat off the bones of that one question Kaz answered.

:D These are statements I've made, yet you keep twisting up my words, so to make it clear to you and others who give two "cares" to read as far as this, I re-gift you...

*Well, I think all of the cars will look good based on what I read from the quote I replied about; obviously, not all of them will be of a high Premium quality... I'm making the presumption of all cars being customizable means that they'll need to have greater (exterior) detail or they'll look weird when they're customized and using those once "Standard" cars in Photo Mode where the LoD was at a noticeably higher level and the imperfections easier to see (EVEN with the Premium models).

*Kaz states that not all cars will have the extent of detail that the Premiums had in GT5 (maybe meaning that they simply won't have detailed interiors) and he ambiguously states that there will be cars that won't have interiors that are completely modeled by saying "not all cars will be made fully 'Premiumized" (which I think means that the exterior detail will be improved enough for parts to be fitted onto the unknown number of those cars but will range from having simplified interiors to no interiors modeled at all).

*I actually said, "The second part of that underlined sentence is a telling sign that all cars will look good (meaning much more closer in their LoD, or more balanced out, in comparison to the way all cars were modeled in GT5 1.0)." I think you misread what I intended to describe, but iainoflo85 clarified that for me.

I don't care if the interiors are there or not to be honest. And I always drive inside the car. I just want the game. They can update the interiors later.....like they did in GT5. That didn't bother me one bit.

If it depended on Kaz it would have taken 15 years to develop each Gran Turismo installment, perfectionist as he is.

And then he would have to start all over again because his technology will be outdated :D

I'm fairly disappointed that Gran Turismo 6 still has full dark cockpit view for certain cars due to the fact that i pretty much only play on inside car view. Saw a car that costed less than 100.000cr, had more than 500hp and weight only 1000kg, so i bought it, then BAM, dark cockpit. :yuck:

In my personal opinion there's still premium AND standard in the game, the only difference is that the developers did not mention it at all on dealerships, instead they just placed all the previous used cars on the normal shops. Some cars have clearly their visuals looking better while a couple others are inferior, and black cockpit is a huge downside because it's simply boring and unreallistic. I'd quickly judge to say it's lazy work on dark cockpit but perhaps there are rights that may be violated by making them have the cockpit or it's too much research.

Since the dark cockpit appeared in Gran Turismo 5, my suggestion was and still is simply designing a default cockpit style that will be the same for all the cars that do not have their own cockpit, it's fairly simple, no need to make it sophisticated, make it a race looking or something mixed between a road car and a race one. After that just adjust the dimension to each car so the resolution doesn't look messed. It's not hard, and if it's so much for designing each car's individual cockpit, i think it would be a nice way to do it and a sollution.

I'm not a graphics priority gamer, but having a full black part of something is quite frustrating for me, specially for liking the maximum reallistic experience possible and due to that using the driver view.
