Starting over, making it fun again!

I started the game again 3 days ago on my new memory card and I've almost completed 25% using all prize cars, racing in races requiring only the first 2 license types. I've also done it with a 100% win ratio. As soon as I unlock the Endurance hall, I'll be able to access many more prize cars, hopefully I can do some of those races without getting the 3rd license type.

If I get bored with a particular race or ralley, go about buying cars that I would personally own in real life.
I've got 63 cars in my garage now, still collecting, and always racing to get enough money to support my car habit. :dopey:

I'll have to try to get better on the licenses though and sounds like a good idea.
I bronzed most of the licenses to get the license but haven't thought about upgrading to better placement on those.
Sounds like a plan.
Now if I just had the patience to keep trying.

You'd be surprised how easy the licences (or most of them) seem when you have more in-game experience...I used to struggle to silver them, but after a few months of playing the game and not bothering with the licences, I went from 1 Gold to 43 Golds in one day and only two or three made me try more then 5 times

I havn't got very far in my game since I restart every few days or so  I don't know why I do it, I guess the early days of the game are more fun for me. Although it keeps me from driving the 'ultimate' cars and such :indiff: But then I have the most fun in 100-350 hp cars, so I don't need to be far to have fun. I just get tired of redoing the licenses :grumpy:

I don't have a specific plan, I'm just having fun.

About the ony "plan" I have is to have the cash to buy the "Black" cars when they come availible.

Well I'm fast running out of races to do on the first 2 grades of license. I still haven't used my VW Lupo prize car, which I am considering doing up sufficiently to beat the Lupo Cup and Shwartzliga A races. I'm thinking that if I can get the VW Karman Ghia, I might be able to beat the Boxer Spirit race in the Beginner hall with it. At the moment I'm seeing how little I can spend on the Autobianchi Abarth in order to beat the Light/Compact race in the Beginner hall. I need to unlock a British car in order to beat the British Lightweight race in the European hall, so I'll need the Ginetta G4. Does anyone reckon it's possible to beat the Boxer Spirit race with a VW Karman Ghia, with say a stage 2 turbine, nitrous, racing chip, stage 1 weight reduction?

Since I'm temporarily stalled on my 93% complete/40,000 A-spec game, I started another game a few days ago. My intention is to only drive cars that are fun to drive. I'm not worried about completion percentage, A-spec points, none of that kind of thing. So it's likely I won't bother with the Subaru 360 race or the Citroen series. Or the Saleen race, for that matter. However I'll be running the World Compact Car cup several times, lots of fun cars for that series, Elises, Elans, Miatas, Cappucinos, etc.

It would be intresting to find out but I don't think the Karmann Ghia no matter how tricked out can beat a RUF Yellow Bird!

Let us know how it works out!

That's what I feared. But I've made a blunder and gotten myself stranded in the Lupo Cup. I've been maintaining a 100% win ratio up to this point, but I made the mistake of taking an underpowered VW Lupo into the Lupo Cup and now I'm stuck on the Tsukuba race with no chance of winning. My Lupo has a Racing Exhaust, Racing Chip, Nitrous and a Stage 2 Turbine. There's just way too little power and too much lag for the shortness of Tsukuba and unequipping the turbo just makes it worse. If I could only qualify in 1st place, I'm sure I could win, but I just can't pull a fast enough lap. If I withdraw from the race I will still maintain my 100% win ratio, but I'll have raced 2 more races than I need have, which kind of puts paid to my perfect run. I'm using AT, so the only option I have now is seeing if I can master MT enough to pull a decent qualifying lap. Damn, I'm such a fool!

Holy thread resurrection batman!

Rekindling an old thread, because, well, making a new one would get me replies from people telling me to look for this one :)

Anyway, i'm thinking of starting over aswell... I almost completed my collection of LMP/Group C cars, and it does get a bit boring. The early days really are the best ones in GT4 for some reason, with or without the licences.... And i can get to day 1600 again in no time, i hope :P

I restarted because I was getting sick of B-Speccing everything, so I made a vow to restart, run all my races on A-Spec, and only run each race once, without selling any prize cars.

I think I got to 80%, with all the manufacturer races completed, before I broke any of those vows. Now I just B-Spec all the endurance races.
