I moved this back here at the author's request. I agree that this is more aimed at compiling data about GT4 rather than direct OLR competition.

Challenge: try to reach the magic 200
Amuse S2000 R1 (buy in tuning village) versus tuning car cup (professional hall)

This is also posted in #1 post. Suggestions for other interesting challenges are welcome.

I'm on the list, I got 200pts, twice, nah-nah I'm so great. lol.
A-spec points for bragging rights only so I'm just having a little brag. It's very nice to be listed somewhere on this site as being at least quite good at something (especially since there are an awful lot of people on here who would totally thrash me at OLR!) thanks hispeed, my girlfriend said that tying to get 200pt races all the time was a stupid idea seeing as I'm playing GT4 for hours as it is.........shows what she knows! Is it sad to be proud of this? erm.............probably, but you'll keep it to yourself right?

Won't tell a soul. Just got crushed with 15sec in Tokyo while trying for the challenge, don't think I can do it without visiting the tune shop (and I'm not, at least don't tell anyone). My best hope is El Capitan, but the ride has to be flawless. That damn HPA senses if I'm closing in, and just floors his accel...
If you get frustrated, fetch your Chevy Vette '63 race car in the garage, and give the HPA the finger while drift-passing him in a bend.

Now that I think of it, I only won my race by like .3 seconds, but it was a rare line-up indeed (I tried like 20 times :grumpy: 👎 )

For tuning cup?

What was the lineup? Or what were your 1 or 2 most serious competitors?

He's talking about the Ginetta G4 200p win in sunday cup.

Currently I'm trying out the Alfa 155 Race car in the Dream car races at extreme hall. RPM meter goes up to 16k :)

Tuning Cup with Amuse S2000 R1? Haha... that's just craziness.

I'm afraid that thing can't compete. Maybe, just maybe if some of the nastier cars don't show up (RUF CTR2, Opera S2000, HPA, BTR, etc), but I really doubt it.

A 250hp car against a 520hp car? Nice... :)

I tried it, and about 20 other cars. I thought it would be easy to find a 200p car. I was wrong.

I did get 200p for a stock Clio Race Car on Apricot Hill and El Cap. But, I have to warn ya, getting 200p on Apricot was one of the hardest things I've done in the game (no, I haven't done #34 and very few license golds). After 20 tries I beat a RUF CTR2, Opera S2000, Falken RX-7, Nismo R-Tune and Spoon S2000. The only reason I endured that pain was because, in over half of those attempts, I was in first 1/2 way through the 2nd lap, and at least 4 or 5 of those tries I was 1st near the end of the esses! GAHHHHHH.... It all boiled down to getting in first before the CTR2 (which started in 3rd) or the Operas S2000 (starting 2nd) got the lead and then blocking them. Blocking them is easier said than done.

Fuji 90s was impossible without cheating. Tokyo, I could get 2nd by turn1 but there was no way to catch the Opera. Tsukuba seemed possible but too hard... must get to lead before CTR2 gets it.

So if you want a Challenge, that would be the one!

A more attainable challenge for Tuning Cup is the GT-R Concept. It'll get around 120-150p and I'm fairly positive it can win.

Or... maybe someone can find just the right lineup to make the Clio work?

Anyway, I'm gonna go hike up a mountain now to unwind... good look on the Challenge!

The challenge is achievable. I've won at Apricot Hill in the S2000 R1, but only by a second and I cut the chicane on the last lap (didn't mean to, lost concentration for a second and plowed straight through - and passed the Opera that was in the lead) so it doesn't count. Still without that offroad excursion I would have been only maybe a second down so it can be done (I'm nowhere near a top level driver). I think El Capitan will be easiest, the AI is rubbish at it, so I'll try there next........

edit:/ ooooo......junior member now am i. Groovy.

I'm sure you're right... especially given the right lineup. I'm nowhere near a top level driver either. But it sure will be tough, especially Tokyo. You have to admit, a 260hp car against the 520hp HPA! Now that's funny... what a David and Goliath battle.

FWIW: I ran across some other "tuned" cars that were offered 200p in a stock config. Other than the Clio Race Car which I've mentioned, there's the Nismo 400R, Impezza Rally Car, Opera 350Z and, the Opera S2000 which, unfortunately has about 100 fewer hp than it's counterpart in the race.

OH, and I forgot to mention. I was offered 150-170p for the RUF BTR. And it was plenty fast enough. I'm sure someone knows how to control that beast!

I've done it in the BTR. On N3's. Cakewalk, it's monster fast. The Nismo and Opera cars should be good, but yes I concede that the Amuse R1 is not going to win at Tokyo under my control, It just gets left behind on the straights. :grumpy:

Sweet. I'm hoping to use the Subaru Touring Car for that race. My favorite car in the game.

For a test, I took it for a spin at Paris. 1st lineup I was offered 172p w/R3s. w/R1s that point value goes to 200p. A boat (the Rally Raid car) was leading the pack and acting as blocker until I could take the lead. But once the Pagani and GT Spec II got free.... I don't know... maybe with some practice I could get 6 or 7 of the races (Test Track would be impossible, Tokyo and Sarthe are doubtful)

So... How is that going?

The Suby TC is pretty close to the Alfa so it'll be goo to know how you did with the Alfa.

Just started up again after some depressive tries on saturday.
Wins so far with the stock Alfa 155 race car '93 in Dream Car Championship:

Deep Forest: 183 A-spec points (2.5s win). Quite easy, almost like driving to work..
Line up: Jag XJ220 LMR, RX-8 LMR, Camaro LMR, Ford GT LMR, NSX-R proto LMR.

same race for 200 A-spec lost by 3s for tha nissan GT-R LMR

Messiah
FF Challenge - The PT Cruiser gets about 160 points per race.

Now this has stumped ME!!

I suoped up my Opel Speedster Turbo ALL THE WAY!!
And I did the one-make race for it...
Guess how many A-spec points??
200 pts!!!!!!
I don't get this
I havnt tried it yet but i wonder how many points itd give u if u did it stock 💡

With a stock speedster, you can race speedster cup alone in 6th place 'till kingdom come, trust me.
200 pts is max for all races except missions = 250pts

Thanks for contributing, Duck. I'll post the manufacturers races when I figure out the best way, as to not make the list a mile long.

For the beginners hall - lightweight cup, The only stock car I've won with is the Ginetta and the Daihatsu Cuore TR-XX Avanzato '97. Anyone else done it with other cars?

EDIT: I've now been moved back to the general GT4 forum

I've been moved to the sunny island of on-line racing->short race series. Who moved it? Did he look at the thread? Couldn't have..... There probably won't be any more contribusions to this list from others than those who have already posted due to this totally misplaced thread-moving.

This is not a racing competition and definitly not a short race series! It's about testing stock cars on each and every track/race to see if it can win.

Certainly this has general GT4 forum interest. It will be a great starting point for people trying to improve their A-spec stats when nearing completion of the game.

EDIT: The name of this thread has been changed (to protect the innocents....c",)
Thanks, Duke, hope it won't get moved to some dark corner of GTPlanet again.

My pride and joy is beating the Stars and Stripes Seattle race with a stock lexus '97 sc300(253hp garage). 200 points.

Also managed to beat the Beginners hall: Spider & Roadster Race 1 - Twin Ring Motegi: with a stock 54 corvette(160hp garage), 200 points.

also just hit 200 aspec with a stock '73 bmw 2002turbo(168hp replay, 178hp garage) on beginners FR seattle race.

New Challenge:

Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 Race Car '93 vs Dream Car Championship (extreme hall)
Won't win tracks with long straights, but should be able to do the others. So far I made Deep Forest. Nice car btw.

Beginners hall: FF Challenge Race 1 - Mid-Field Raceway
Car: Mazda Kusabi 03 / FF / 147BHP / / / 85 A-spec

Beginners hall: FF Challenge Race 5 - Twin Ring Motegi
Car: Mazda Kusabi 03 / FF / 147BHP / / / 94 A-spec

Have a new one... err... assuming downgrading tires is still ok.

BMW M3 GTR went 7 for 10 at Dream Car w/R2s
vs. GT, Nissan GT-R, Camaro, Jag XJ220, 350Z

If you want to keep it "pure" stock (the R3s that they come with)... then, along with the Alfa, there are 3 other cars that I know can be offered 200p with the right lineup.

In order of A-Spec points given: Subaru TC, Opel Calibra, Alfa and FTO LM. The FTO is right on the line. It may be tricky to find a 200p lineup but it can be done!

Tuning Car Cup - S2000 Challenge.

Yeeeeeeesssss. Nailed it (on one track at least).

FIELD:

1. Ruf RGT
2. Amuse S2000 Street Version
3. Nismo GT-R R-Tune (R34)
4. Opera Performance S2000
5. Ruf CTR2
6. Amuse S2000 R1 (that's me!)

Lap 1 - get blown away off the line but pull it back through the first three corners (the AI is rubbish at hills) Am up to second behind (surprisingly) the other Amuse S2000. Chase it all the way round with the CTR and Opera needing blocking on the straights. Cross the line 1.9 secs down
Laptime - 2'06.5xx

Lap 2 - catch up again through the hills and.....pass the other S2000 at the bottom corner only to lose it on the bottom straight. Burn after him up through the tunnel and manage to hold more speed drifting slightly round the S after the tunnel. Outbrake him into the last corner and pull level in the draft on the straight. Cross the line 0.037 up!
Laptime - 1'56.4xx

Lap 3 - Push too hard through the hills and slide into the bottom corner but manage to stay ahead. Get caught again through the back section but make up time through the tunnel and last corner. Into the final straight with the CTR and S2000 slipstreaming up behind in the mirror, but I hold them off to win by 0.312. YAY!
Laptime - 1'56.3xx

Alfa 155 Vs Dreamcar Champ................hmmmmm interesting.

200pts. Finally. Mission Accomplished.

Are we talking El Capitan?

Oh yes, in my excitment I forget to put that in. oops.

BTW, the ALFA vs Dreamcar is a walk in the park compared to the S2000. I'm trying it in the AMG Mercedes 190 touring Car - 200pts stock. Here we go again.

Nice! Very nice!

For a little perspective, when I beat it with the Clio my Best Lap was 1'52.9 and only won by 1s against the CTR2 who was on my tail a lot of the race (using my draft no doubt). Must've been hell keeping the CPU cars at bay!

How many of the races did you manage to win?
I think I may have to redo it with my Subaru Touring Car!!!

Won at Opera, Deep Forest, Hong Kong, Beginner Course (Some suspect driving going there tho'), El Capitan and Cote D'Azur. 3rd on Tokyo and Seoul and 2nd at Sarthe (one of the Ford GT's fell off the straight).

As for the S2000 race, yeah, keeping those *******'s behind me was a pain. I think I would have struggled with any other line up but the AI means only the first car tends to fly of at warp speed and I could keep up with the Street S2000 (just!)

Edit: Oh. I missed test track. A mighty 6th. booo. Have to do that one again in My Speed 12. Just Finished in the Merc 190 touring. Pretty much the same results except I only managed 4th at Sarthe - 200pts a pop in that tho.

Edit 2: Ooooo....New challenge I see. Give me something to do tomorrow.......
