The hot streak continues....

Professional Hall : Clubman Cup : SSR5 Clubman (5 Laps)
Car : Mazda Kusabi '03 (oil changed) / FF / 155HP / 900kg / 5.719kg/HP / 200 A-spec points!

Opposition (not a particularly easy lineup either!!! :eek:đź‘Ť ) in starting and finishing order....
Toyota MR2 GT-S '97
Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 '85
Opel Speedster Turbo '00
Honda Integra Type R (DC5) '03
Clio Renault Sport V6 Phase 2 '03

*Edit* Cracked the 25% barrier this evening, after a 150-something stock race in a Mitsubishi EVO manufacturer race, can't remember details so I'll not post it. However, I've been experimenting with the El Capitan Enduro. I'm fairly determined that I can do this in the stock, no oil, with s1 tyres, Jensen Interceptor III prizecar I got for some of the licence tests. Tried a few lineups but the always seems to be at least one hare for the remaining pack of tortoises! Has anyone found a good closely matched lineup for this race. I'm thinking I need to find something where the TVR 350C, Lotus Esprit Sport 350, Motorsport Elise, Pagani Zonda C12, or Shelby Series 1 isn't present, so I can be the fastest tortoise and still win! In everyone's experience which are the faster & slower cars for this race & can you find a field where only the slower ones are present? If so, are you still looking at 200pts? Any help you can offer is hugely appreciated.

Just started experimenting with the JGTC (all Japan GT Championship).

got one:

Japanese races: All Japan GT Championship race 4 - Fuji 90's
Car: Amuse S2000 GT1 '04 / FR / 510HP / 1080kg / 2,1kg/HP / 152 A-Spec

Line-up: Nissan Xanavi Hiroto, Nissan Pennzoil Zexel, Nissan Xanavi Nismo, Honda Castrol mugen NSX and Toyota Woodone Tom's Supra.
-> Some of these are ~450HP, might be a field with ~493HP cars only for more A-Spec.

Don't fall into temptation and abuse that obvious shortcut, and you're all in for a good ride! Errors here are quite unforgiving, but the AI brake way to soon (stoopid AI)

:indiff: Hmmm.
I got an answer to my question anyway, and things looked promising for a while.
5th or 6th lineup at El Capitan has a Corvette Grand Sport, Merc SL65 AMG, Aston V8 Vantage, Dodge Viper GTS and TVR Cerbera Speed Six. The Merc & Aston pit after 11 laps each, the TVR on 12 and the US duo go in on 14.
However, in the Jensen which to be fair is a bit of lardarse at >1800kg, SM tyres last 5 laps, but shockingly when I tried again on SH tyres, like the rest of the field, it gets.... 6 laps out of a set! No way I can win like that, I'd pulled out a 5s lead on my 1st set of SM tyres before the Corvette caught back up as they went off rapidly. Question is, how can the V8 Vantage be getting 11 laps out of SH tyres too? He's also a bit of a fatty! Are the cars here modified much? That'd explain why its easy to get 200 points against the AI. I tried again with the Jensen, oil changed for 409HP and SH tyres. Still 6 laps out of a set of SH tyres. I'm wondering if its the 3 speed transmission that's killing me here.
Looks like I may have to come up with something else to enjoy the Yosemite scenery in. :(
What's the difference in your experience wear-wise between sports & normal tyres? Do the normal ones last any longer? Which way round does it work? N1 > N3 for lifetime, or the other way round?

Well, I have too many to list the details. As I was looking through the front page list, I noted no listings for the Japanese Hall; Japanese Compact Cup. It is the only J-Cup I did so far because I wanted to test the prize car for another reason. I used the 1998 Nissan Cube X at 82PS with oil change, S1front, S2rear, 57KG ballast. I don't remember what combination I had with the muffler and chip, but that would be all I added for HP as I noted haveing 89PS, N3 tires, and 105KG for the first race of the series and the 89PS was with race muffler and Chip.

I have not re-done all the races I didn't get 200 points on yet, but at times redoing them. I have 200Pts in:

Begginers:
all races except MR, H-Cup, and Roadsters.

Professional:
Clubman and NA Sports

Extreem:
Polyphony Digital Cup and Like The Wind

Special Conditions Events:
All Easy, Most Normal, and a few Hard

American:
Stars and Stripes

Japanese:
Compact Cup

Wild Cobra Z28

That's awesome... but ummm... how many of those are Stock cars (no upgrades, no ballast, no nothing), because the one you mentioned wasn't. :boggled:

I'd really like to hear a stock car that can get 200p in the Special Condition events! I've done one. Swiss Alps Fwd Hard with the Ford RS200 and that's about it. Oh, and the Ford Lightning for Swiss Alps Easy.

You sure you didn't mean to post in this in the 200p thread?

Alright. Something somewhere is rotten. Just previewed El Capitan endurance 3 or 4 times. (Costs a day every time you preview too.) It suggests that every car that starts this race is on SM tyres. 11 laps from an Aston Martin V8 Vantage on SM tyres while my Jensen is doing 5? Bollocks! That's what I say. And unfeasibly large, Buster Gonad, size Bollocks at that. :yuck:

Try hooning round in an Aston on SM tires for comparisons sake. Probably won't get 11 laps out of them, but even if you get 8, 9 or 10 then you'll know it's the car. If not, I guess it's just your driving. :)

Not saying your driving is bad, just different to the AI, and that's a good thing! :)

Endurance races: Infineon World Sports endurance
Car: Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car '98 / MR / 345HP / 1180kg / 3.4kg/HP / 200 A-spec By route_66

Is this a typo in the first post, or does the PAL version have different entrants than the NTSC version? I tried in a Zonda Race Car for 200pts (about 1.6kg/HP) and was lapped by lap 10 by the BMW V12 LMR. I can only get lineups with LMRs present and they kick the Zonda's arse! :(
There's no way a stock Nissan R390 Road Car could keep up. Did you mean the Race car? Or maybe the Black version?

I think route_66 is on vacation, but he just might be able to answer. His skills are unquestionable, but his awereness is yet not established. I've never redone any of his entries, so this might be a glimpse. Perhaps the black one? But if he says he did it in the road car, I guess he did it in the road car. Btw I won the lightweight cup in the Daihatsu midget (not stoc though)

I found his post, he doesn't mention Road or Race car, just Nissan R390 GT1.
I'm thinking, given the other entrants in this race, that it'd have been the Race car, or the Black race car, but not the Blue 390HP Road car!
I agree route_66 has unquestionable skills from repeating some of his races, but this would take some kind of superhuman effort!

I'm trying to find a suitable combination of stock car and lineup for 200pts at Nurburgring 4hrs. Not getting much success yet though.....

In the new or old Midget? If you say the '63, you deserve this....

The old '63 version ofcourse! Your bowdown is accepted. But as I said, It wasn't stock, and not that hard either. I even admit I used that "not to be mentioned" NOS-demon. But at 37HP fully tuned, I had to give in.
This is btw the first car that will enter my new thread: "Crappy cars made badass winners".

So far I won race 1,2 and 5 of Sunday cup (expect to get all but hispeed-ring), Daihatsu miget cup (figures), and all of Lightweight K cup with my Badass Midget '63. Aiming for the Japanese compact as well.
Next cars for this trial are the Fiat 500's, Subaru 360 and Beetle '49.

All 200pts at sunday cup, 113 at lightweight.

Agreed.... there's no way it's the road car.

Whether it's the black or the regular version is something you'd have to ask him.

I think it'd be helpful to list the weight and HP you get from the fully souped up versions as you head up the Crappy Car list.

And DO NOT forget the wing :dopey:

Hello all. I'm back. And it seems I'm under fire? It was indeed the Race version. As most of you suspected there is all of no chance in hell of winning with the road version. Sorry for the confusion, but I'm sure HiSpeed asked me which one it was before he put it up.

Anyway. I'll put up some new stuff soon, I've just got to go and finish NFSU2 and MC:DUB (Yes, I am a Playstation freak and will happily play anything).

Sorry about that route_66, you're not under fire, I was just amazed when I read the post about the road car!
As I said, I tracked down the post you made where you mentioned several enduro and car combinations. The confusion probably arose since there's no mention in that post of whether the R390 was road/race version and Hispeed as I suspected made an unintentional typo when he transcribed it into the 1st post, since he didn't have any extra info to go on.
No offence meant to either of you! :guilty:

I've been at 25.1% since Thursday night, unlocked the endurance hall and have since been trying to find a decent close race which is worth some points. So far I'm discovering that the AI fields offered in this game are even worse than GT3, there's always 1 or 2 cars that'll run off into the distance, leaving you to fight for scraps if you're trying in something for high points. So far I've not completed any of the enduros..... I'll be A-speccing them all but it may take some time to find a fun & competetive race for each of them. :ouch:

Not quite the magic 200 but anyway....full race report is here :-Nurburgring 4hr Endurance

Endurance Hall : Nurburgring 4 Hours Endurance
Car : Honda S2000 Type-V '01 (6.2 Mile Used, no oil, S1 tyres) / FR / 243 HP / 1260kg / 5.185kg/HP / 175 A-spec points.

Sweet! Congrats! That must have been fun.

How much did you win by and who was your most serious competitor?

Thanks, click the link & it'll take you to the blow by blow account.
Or I could just tell you it was the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport (C4) '96 and I won by about 24s after 4hrs. Woohoo!
But I won't.
D'oh! :dunce:

I tried the Infiniti G35 Sedan '03 at professional hall, NA sports, trial mountain for 200 A-spec points. Finished 0.5s behind no. 1 after 4 tries. Anyone able?

Endurance Hall : New York 200 miles
Car : Shelby Series 1 Supercharged (oil changed) / FR / 320HP / 1202kg / 3.8kg/HP / 146 A-spec points

Totally stock, but with oil change. Closest competitor was the Proto Motors Spirra, but he fell away after the first pit stop, and I won by ~45 seconds.

Nice going amfn14! Got to try something for New York so that might be a good race. Do you have anymore data on the lineup and their respective laptimes? What was your best laptime? What about pit strategies?

Here's another from me....

Endurance Hall : Roadster 4 hour Endurance
Car : Mazda MX-5 Miata V-Special Type II '93 (Used, oil changed, SH (S1) tyres.) / FR / 130HP / 980kg / 7.538kg/HP / 76 A-spec points
Finished 37s ahead of 2nd place.

I'm listing results, pit strategies and lineups for my A-spec endurance races here :-
Smallhorses' A-Spec Endurance Companion

Hi Smallhorses,
The two fastest AI were the Proto Motors Spirra and the TVR Speed 6. You can also get a Motorsports Elise in the lineup here, but I'm not sure how fast that is compared to the Spirra.

When I fell behind at the start I pushed and it took me until lap 15 to cut down the spirra's 8second lead, but when he pitted, he just seemed to fall behind on cold tires. The Shelby has a disadvantage against pretty much every other car when on the straight.

Me and the Spirra and the TVR could get 18 laps on a set of tires (stock tires). I seems to remember a Viper of some sort doing 24 laps on one set.

As for laptimes, my best was 1min 44sec, but mostly 1.46-1.50. The Spirra was equal, or very slightly slower. Bear in mind I'm not a great driver.

Finishing order: Me(Shelby)
Spirra (+45secs)
TVR

Alex

PS: With the Motorsport Elise in the lineup, the race is worth 126 points in a stock used TVR Speed 6.

Another from me, been done before, but another different ride....

Endurance Hall : El Capitan 200 miles
Car : Toyota Supra RZ '97 (Used, oil changed, SM tyres) / FR / 325HP / 1510kg / 4.646kg/HP / 200 A-spec points!

I love that race. I've won it in just about everything I've entered it with. Elise 111r, RX-7 Spirit R, Mustange SVT Cobra, RUF RGT, Skyline Mspec Nur, to name a few.

Have just done Tsukuba wet race (Hard) in stock Zonda Race car, exactly same as Mr Slow. Fun way to collect 200 easy points. đź‘Ť

This thread seems to have died.... no-one doing stock races anymore?
Myself I'm doing the enduros so its taking some time!

Endurance races: Infineon World Sports Car Race
Car: Toyota 7 Race Car '70 / MR / 789HP / 620kg / 0.786kg/HP / 82 A-spec points

OK, I just found my first 200 point race. Yah, now I can join the 200 Club. :) :dopey: :sly:

The Shelby Cobra Cup

Shelby Series 1 Supercharged '03/ FR / 336HP / 1292Kg / 3.85kg/HP / 200 A-Spec

It's worth 200 points in the Shelby Series 1 Supercharged '03, but only if I add 90 units of ballast weight. I'm not sure if this is legal or not. If it's not then the really stock car is worth 185 points. :( Adding ballast weight is an easy way to increase points, and if adjusting the transmission and other settings on a car is legal, then this must be too?

Lineup: 5 x Shelby Cobra 427 '67

All races in the Cup are worth the 200 points. The tracks:
  • Seattle Circuit (Reverse)
  • High Speed Ring (Reverse)
  • New York
  • Laguna Seca
  • Trial Mountain (Reverse)

Actually really easy for 200 points IMO.

-EDIT-

DAMMIT :banghead:, I just saw that this has already been done. :( Oh well, there goes my moment of fame, up in smoke eh...
