I did Pan Euro Championship in a RUF RGT. Could've used the M3 CSL for 200 pts a piece, but I was looking for a different way to get high a-spec points in this series that wasn't already posted.

Opera Paris-Sports softs, 184pts
Grand Valley-Sports mediums, 194pts
La Sarthe 1-couldn't stay with the Motor Sport Elise on the straights, my only loss
Cote D'Azur-Sports softs, 184pts
Nurburgring-Sports mediums, 194pts

Due to rolling starts I need the softs on a few tracks, and that Motor Sport Elise just flew once it got the lead, but it was last on nurb since it was all over the track.

I also did some testing of road cars in Turbo Sports. Pts changed because of the different lineups I was against.

3000GT VR-4-Midfield-Sports mediums, 200pts.

Supra RZ-Tokyo-Sports mediums, 196pts
High Speed Ring-Sports mediums, 179pts

RX-7 bathrust edition-Fuji-Sports mediums, 194pts

Impreza 22B-New York-Sports mediums, 200pts

NOTE: I've always used the garage HP. I can't say that that's the right one but, I can say the Preview is NOT. Try this... Take a new car (maybe it'll work on used too?), get it's HP reading from the garage, then note it's preview HP. Reset, now get an oil change, note the garage HP and then note it's preview HP. Guess what? The oil change didn't affect the preview HP! :odd:

it's been pretty exhaustively tested and proven what the HP values are in this thread here.

the only correct units(correct as in the unit selected in the OPTIONS menu) are in the buy/sell listing. most of the rest are ALWAYS PS, and the replay one is the hp when the car has reached full wear out (8500mi i think?) with clean oil. kind of an odd number.

just fyi, since the other thread has seemingly died.

Thank's for filling in. As I've stated in the rules-section the preferrable HP admitted is the one listed where you can sell your car. I notice that this value changes from completely new -> oil change -> tuning -> mileage. The HP listed after a race is always the same "lower than you actually have" and could very well be the bottom possible HP if the motor is worn out after i.e. 8500 miles.
I always PM an admittant if I'm unsure of the HP or car submitted, so please don't just post: "Won the X race with a stock skyline 294HP for 175 A-Spec"

3000GT VR-4-Midfield-Sports mediums, 200pts.
-> Was it the '95, '96 or '98 model?

Opera Paris-Sports softs, 184pts
Cote D'Azur-Sports softs, 184pts

These two didn't qualify due to S1 or S2 restrictions.

You're 'bsolutley right. Had a 5y old relative visiting, ADD-like personality, rips the PS2 to the floor -> Disc Read Error!! This was the 14th, 15th: sunday, 16th and 17th red days on the calendar, delivered PS2 for repair today and bought new one at shop with 30 day money back "if not satisfied" guarantee. I'm an addict!
Updates will commend tomorrow.

"European Hall: La Festa Italiano race 1 - Autumn Ring
Car: Fiat Barchetta Giovane Due/ 136HP / 1090kg / 7.99kg/HP / 200 A-spec By route_66"

Has anyone done this succesfully? If not, I'd like to raise the BS flag on this one. If so, then I salute your driving skills. You are supposed to use "un-modified" cars, correct? I never even got to play bumper tag with the 5th place AI, let alone win this race.

There goes more of my win ratio. :grumpy: I refuse to reset. :yuck:

I've done it. That's why I posted it. The fiat can beat everything short of the Stratos and Integrale and If they don't start first it can have them for dinner as well. I can't post my replays, but there are plenty of my status screens kicking around proving my A-spec total.

Drive nice and smooth and the little Fiat handles like a dream. Plus I find the AI to be completely useless at Autumn Ring and Monaco anyway (especially Monaco). What field are you trying to race it against? If the Lancia's get away First, there's no chance, but get a nice slow Alfa at the front and you'll be in with a shout. Also push it right to the limit of the track on the corners - Autumn rings corners were made to be clipped reeaaal close, bu the AI won't - you can make up loads of time especially through the 90 degree chicanes.

My hat is off to you, good sir.

Every time I try I get a field of alfas and they always cut corners, and I try not to. Oh well I guess I'll find another car to get my 200.

Hispeed ( and others rodeo drivers ) , i love you ( huh i love taht post i mean lol )

Hustling for a month to get higher A-spec points but i had no clue (car , settings ......) to reach 200 points

NOW I HAVE THE REFERENCE post , so i can chase A-spec points ..............thank you soooooooooooooooooooo much

That s THE thread :P

Rules: No tuning (stock car). Oil change allowed. No wallriding or shortcuts. 2 tires on the track at all times. S2 or S1 tires for any car, R3->R1 tires for race cars.

forgot to ask ... Nos or no Nos ...that is the question lol

NOS is a NO NO! If you want it stock that is. But If you're just A-spec point hunting, you'll get the same points with NOS, just an easier ride.

Edit

#List has been updated.

#Anyone have a challenge or a stock race that seems hard but doable. Post it!

#There's room for all entries from 200 and downwards, not all drivers are able to do the hardest stock races, so if you got a 132 or 89, and It's not posted before, feel free to do so.

#In Many of the manufacturers races It's impossible to get high A-Specs, 60 points seem to be the "standard" when the cars are equal (please correct me if I'm wrong).
Dirty oil will get you more points. As will S1 tires.

Indeed, for a one model field - 60pts is what you'll get with S2's. This applies only to the races where all the cars are the same and unmodded (Crossfire, Saleen, 2CV, Subaru 360, Audi A3). The Triumph race is a special case - the AI sometimes drives the prize version (even though it's the same car) which is lighter and so gives you more points.

which explains how you got more points than me in the race (spitfire). I'll re-run those races tonight

cheers

Just want to ask JDW ,
*In Stars and Stripes* how do u beat the shelby supercharged with the (-sluggy-) Buick GNX... man i know u re better than me for sure , but this looks like a Graal s quest ....

I can t beat it , 9 to 14 seconds behind him always 2 nd....now i had my 200 points after 10 th new lineup WITHOUT the Shelby supercharged ( best car was a camaro i think ) gave me 200 points .

Did i ask and give the answer lol ?

Where was the Shelby in the starting lineup? I ran against the following:
Series 1, Viper GTs, Camaro SS, GTO 5.7 and and SVT Cobra.

IIRC, the GTO was in the lead playing blocker, the Series 1 was 3rd and the Viper (who was MORE dangerous than the Series 1) was 5th. Infineon doesn't have any room so the GTO stayed in 1st which made it the easiest of the 3.

Lineup order can make all the difference depending on
a) the track, especially if it's narrow and twisty
b) whether it's a grid or rolling start. Rolling starts may be annoying but they can actually help because it tends to keep the most dangerous car behind for a longer period of time)

Getting to the lead and playing blocker is very important.

Other than that I did what route said... practice, practice, practice. I remember Laguna being very tough and I'm fairly decent at that track!

But HEY, if you have a 200p where the Camaro is the toughest it's MUCH easier :D

BTW: there's a trick to repeating the same lineup for all 3 tracks.

For Professional hall: World Compact Car, the VW Lupo Cup Car (S2 tires) seems to be a good choice. Any other suggestions?

Tried the VW Golf GTi '76 for 120-130p, didn't try to many line-ups, but it was to hard.

Can I join? :)

Japanese 80's Festival - El Capitan (3 laps)
Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex '83 (Stock, no oil change, running Sports Medium (S2?) tyres) / FR / 127HP / 940kg / 7.284kg/HP - 200 A-Spec points!

Opposition in finishing order 2nd - 6th places
Toyota Celica 2000GT-Four (ST165) '86,

Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex '83
Honda City Turbo II '83.

Welcome Smallhorses, you're in! Check the list.
Still many gaps to fill, and quite a few low point entries.
I'm currently racing world compact cars in professional hall, why don't you go for a try to?

Well... kind of., errr... maybe 💡

I found my 200p car but it wasn't stock. It was the Mitsubishi i. Didn't add the full tranny. That actually ruined this little no gear wunderkar. But I did have the rest of the dt/su ups and S3s. Added a chip for Motegi and GVE. And... yes... I turned the Aids off. I admit it!

Maybe against another lineup? Maybe it'll just work. Won HK by 5 secs and Motegi by 3 so...

Other than that, try the Marcos and the Spitfire. Should be able to get about 130 w/them. Another 130p car is the Peugeot 106 R which is probably better. And try ou the Mits Col which can get 170. I haven't really tried those cars myself but I'm sure one of 'em will work!

jdw suggested I also post my latest endeavor on this thread as well.
I recently completed the Suzuka Endurance with a Wedsport Celica for a 200 Aspec point win. I was stock horsepower, with minor suspension and differential tuning, and superhard racing tires. A partial writeup in my thread can be found HERE .

JParker

JParker, You say stock HP. Is that without oil then (295HP).
Oilchange is allowed, but I like to get it right in the list.

To all posters: please write actual HP and weight found in spec-sheet where you can sell your car.
