Well done @Stephen Vann and the rest of the storagetrunks team, I was dropping in from time to time to see how you went on, seems like you lacked a bit pace, but made up for it by being consistent and staying out of trouble. I should also say that the commentators praised your performance at numerous occasions.
Again, a massive well done! Its not easy to go into this series with all the rules, stint photos, and other customs affiliated by this series, but you seem to have gotten the hang of it.

DRIVING STINTS 24 HOURS DAYTONA

We were very grateful to you Andro, and Rono, and others who gave us much help and advice, it was for us 3 rookies and huge task, and to do it without a team member with experience added to the " hope we are doing it correctly " feel we had.
We spent ages in practice with driver changes etc etc, and we just hoped we had not misunderstood things.

In the end, it was epic, and to actually have completed it was as much as we hoped for to be honest.
Chris came good, and arrived in our team about an hour before the start, lol, we were in a state of panic, as he had said he would come on and practice with us several times in the week before, he didnt get around to it, so we were just hoping he would show up for the race.
As the clock neared start time i have to say i was really worried, and sent him a text, so in the end Chris arrived and had 1 hours practice before he went and started the race.

We had made up our own procedure for driver changes, we practiced that for many hours too, the comminucations re skype with the driver wth updates etc, changes to our stints re red flags and possible rain, and Chris as usual picked that up within 2 minutes, went onto track at the start and whoosh, he was well in front of our class by the end of his stint.
Sadly Chris as a Platinum class driver was only permitted to do 4 hours of driving, so his stints were the start and finish.

As Jon Rich and myself had made all the plans etc between us, we had not included Chris in team the comms duty, but this was no real problem, as we needed to learn it anyway in real time.

So we opted for the next driver in, was to do the comms duty for the driver on track, this meant 6 hours on duty with 3 hours off duty during the 24 hours, but although it was very very tiring, it was also a real buzz, that left us all ready for sleep as soon as the race had finished.

We all had a great time, and thank,s to all who sent there support throughout.

As i was the slowest i tried to concentrate on not crashing.
Richie and Jon were about 1 second faster on average than me, and Chris, well, he is Alien material, and his laptimes were mega fast, and i think if Chris could have driven for longer we could have had a much improved finishing position.

Although we had no TEAM MANAGER role, we all helped and gave input which was great, and although there were one or two disagreements, we started out the race as buddies, and ended it as good buddies.

But all in all we did a great great job, we are all very happy that we made it through to the end and didn't embarrass ourselves.

The final classifications will not be published for a few days,
as there were many red flags and disconnection issues that have to be properly calculated, so we may well move up the finishing order as we did at the London 12 hour VW race.

Anyway, its over now, back to a normal life.

Hope to see you all tonight.
