Hey lisanorm, I'm fairly new to this, but you seem to have some positive responses to all your tunes, nice work mate.
Being that I'm new, who are "the greats"?
After following this site for a few weeks, names that come up are " amo, Holland? Cargoratt, doodlemonoply, "to name a few off the top of my head.
Very interested to discover the sub gt world
Bert
hiya Bert you said it most of them names will put up a tune they will be on fist page or in the tune directory under the seasonals tab, i like you are still learning my friend and tunes from them guys have helped me lots, there is just so much info on this site you will pick it up thats all i do,and like i said most of the time i have no clue what i am doing but if it feels good i will post it....anyways good luck mate 👍

both do over a long run, affect BHP, think thats why a lot dont do oil change for tt's, body is alright as long as you restore it now and then, you will feel the difference,i'm sure others can let you know more......not a bad time either i only just broke under 1:17
Thanks for that.
Yeah loving this new competitive element... You say you're slow too but clearly you're doing something right. Top 300 globally can't be bad....
How much have you improved since you first started?
I need to get back to the matterhorn soon....

Hey Bert, welcome to the madness we call the Seasonal TT's. :) If there is anything I can do to help you out, just name it. 👍 It gets a little crazy here sometimes with all the bantering and whatnot, but in the end we are just a bunch of friends who love the competition. :) Again, welcome and don't be afraid to ask questions...from me or anyone else. We are all here for the friendly competition and are glad to help. Stay fast my friend.

Nice! Thanks for reaching out, I have actually spent a bit of time scouring the forums, and your words mean a lot. I don't know exactly what you've been through but sounds like you're doing great and have a positive attitude plus super competitive, which is awesome. I would love to be as fast as you and thanks for the welcome.:cheers:
Really like this little sub community, been for ages trying to get friends to like gt, but it seems hit and miss amongst the masses, so it feels like I've found a little subsect of people to converse with around this.

I'm currently awaiting qualification confirmation from gtp for the wrs, and I see that you Mr Cargo, are in there as well. Slightly different to the srf world of the tts....;)
Oh, I feel the world of gt creeping into my life
Can't wait
Happy racing g

yes i have my days lol,but i have improved heaps since reading and following a lot of peeps on here and yes Cargo is one to help ya too...well said @GTP_CargoRatt ..READ,WATCH,and PRACTICE these are the main things i do but practice i dont get to do much, well enjoy and have fun mate

I have moved up the LB almost 1000 places with tonight's session by shaving off .578 from my previous best, currently at 1:18.962 [no srf] :D
That truly is a good time for a non srf lap,
I tried that and got to low 1.21z...think I'll go back as can't get better than 17.4z with it turned on, hardly think you'd do yourself any disservice having a go with srf on just out of curiosity?
Good on ya, will go back to non srf for a different flex.

Welcome! :)

I actually used to be terrible. Then I discovered the seasonal time trials back in GT5 with the good old DS3 and have worked my way towards the top since. I started in the WRS last May in D1 Bronze. I got promoted to gold 5 weeks ago. :)
Awesome, i guess that's exactly what I wanted to hear. Wondering now whether I'll even break into div 4 silver or bronze.
Are you based in the UK? It's currently 2.40am in London and the City is covered in a strange brown mist that the news are calling "smog".
Think I'm done on this lap, still can't better it, top 400 not bad for a first go?
Bert

I'm actually in America, the Washington DC area. Top 400 is a pretty good start!

Thanks for the kind words Bert, really appreciate that. 👍 Its great to hear your joining the dark side  (WRS) and yes, that's a whole different ballgame over there. Its were the men get separated from the boys.:P I haven't been participating much there for my own personal reasons, but hope to get started back there soon. You'll really learn a lot there from the top guys as they are always very helpful over there, just as they are here. Good luck on your qualifier there, hope you get placed well. Look forward to competing with you. Again, welcome to the forums and thanks for the kindness. Stay fast my friend.

Sometimes I wonder why PD puts up these Japanese car TT's with so many cars to choose from... I start believing its a way to make you buy as many as you can afford, and stock your Garage with cars you wouldn't otherwise bother with...
Anyway, for those who have the WRX STi '07 , here is a tune that you might find useful. I just did a 1:16.900 with it and there is quite some room for improvement, considering this is a new track for me, and lots of time gets wasted here and there..

Specs @ the car settings page: 500PP Max Power 360 BHP ,1,259 kg , 52:48 Weight dist., Max Torque 49.2 kgfm.
Power to Weight ratio 3.49kg/BHP.

Specs @ the Garage page: 360BHP/6,400 rpm , 48.7kgfm/4800 rpm

WRX STI07.png

Please feel free to play around with it, and make it suite your driving style. Tip: you can start with a 50:50 Torque Ratio, It will make things smoother to start with, after gaining confidence you can gradually increase the torque balance towards the back, it will make the car faster on straits, but a little more demanding while cornering.
EDIT: New and improved version here

While I haven't knocked off the Gold; the S206 is a surprisingly great little car for world courses. I don't normally pick Subaru but for mission specific objectives.

Have you noticed the Scooby wreck shop at the bottom of that hill?
Cannot improve on a 1.17.5.
Have been using a priano tune variant and now can't even seem to run consistent 18s.
Think I'm around 390th,it's the first seasonal I've tried to take seriously.
Long way to go.
Does body rigidity and oil change start to effect things over time?
Bert
Hey Bert,
I pay very close attention to my speed starting and get about 190km over the line and when that changes for three or so times check your car in the settings and you will see the power drop. Thankfully it takes an oil change and restore of rigidity and it should take you back to your pp without having to adjust the power limiter. I'm now doing 1:15.7's in 36th. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask and if I can help I will. One of my buddies is using the exact same tune as me and he's in 9th place with a 1:15.057 or something like that. I'm nkf_nkf and he is nebneb1978

DBM
Using a slightly modified praiano63 tune, but can't get lower than 1:18.1xx with a DS3 but still puts me in the top 650, I very rarely get in the top 1000.
I just got 1:15.664 with the ds3. For me it's the last part of the track, the chicane before the uphill is tricky but I'm losing speed and half a second on the 2 right handers at the top. I can be down the bottom and through the two rights upto the chicane ahead of number 1 and then through the chicane i lose .100 and then even though it's uphill...it's all down hill from there.lol

I should mention that I'm using praiano63's tune also, however it was not tuned for this course so I have cargorats gearing and have made some adjustments to the front toe (out or negative) and the ride spring rate, dampers (extension) and front anti roll less than back to encourage oversteer.
Does this help?

ok here is rev 2 of the WRX STi '07, called the " @GTP_CargoRatt mover" :D it has better flying characteristics, better bazoom and better woof properties, to name a few...
And of course everything else you would expect from a new and improved product!
Just did a quick 1:16.138 with it, this little car is more than capable of braking into the 15's.

PS Made this tune to motivate my friend Mitch and make him have a break from that ball buster Madrid chicane  Cmmon buddy move your little 🤬

WOW!!!!!!!!!! You have officially renewed my interest in this TT. The tune is amazing, just OMG!! I've only improved about .100 so far, but that is only after a few laps. I have seen as much as .564, and that was just in one corner. That little dog-leg part just before you start the uphill treck towards the finish, I was even with my ghost and coming out of there, I must have hit it just right or something because I was up by .564 coming out of there. I totally lost it all though by going off into the grass on the last turn. :banghead:

Anyways, thanks loads for the tune and re-newing my interest in this TT. I can see almost a full second gain now if I can just pull it altogether. You are a savior my good friend.

updated time now, 1:15.441 26th. I can do so much better. My friend (nebneb1978) and I play golf and we have an analogy for this game more specifically the time trials...it's a lot like golf that you may hit a great drive and then mess up your approach to the green or nail your approach and miss your putt. it's a matter of keeping it all together for the birdie or eagle lap.

HaHa! Thanks! I'm glad you liked the tune, it certainly is fast acting and the placebo effect is minimal!

the good part with having plenty of torque and a wider power band, is that you can use lower final gearing efficiently. This actually means gears are usable in a wider rpm range, and you can push more when you don't know a track very well. Also you might find it useful to momentarily downshift more to secure your lines, when you're faster than optimal on entry.
i.e. in that last corner before the finish you blew, you might think 4th gear will carry more speed coasting through the turn. This is true, but overall, downshifting to 3rd will enable you to coast less time at a slightly reduced speed, it will cement your line, and you will be able to accelerate earlier and faster, jumping in fourth speed well in the powerband for further fast acceleration out of the turn. This will give you a greatly improved overall cornering time, its more fun, and you can delegate and control a new track better. when you have gained confidence and have found your optimal run throughout the track, you can then fine tune your gearbox to tighten it up if you need to, and gain that little speed you miss here and there.

Hey there, I like your post. I do think however that you need to tell us what final gear you start with and then top speed and in which order you set the individual gears i.e. 1st-6th or 6th-1st. Thanks mate.

Since you quoted both Jim and I, who are you talking to regarding the gearing? I am using the tune that @yannagas has generously made for me which has the gearing instructions clearly stated in his post above. (post #139) As for @jimipitbull gearing, you'll have to wait for him to respond with his explanation. 👍

I'd like to quote this for others.

If you can't figure out how to get a car to settle with the transitions for this seasonal selection (I can't "tune" a car in this game, I usually leave cars alone) Insanely fun track though. This set up helped IMMENSELY to grab that gold. I didn't do anything competitive in terms of time logging. I think my best was a low 19. I'm going to try a couple more times to see if I can shave little more time off. Maybe another second or two if I committed myself and braved some corners. It's crazy that you all are doing low 16's.

I must ask, @GTP_CargoRatt are you using a wheel?

But thank you yannagas for posting this. Thank you.
