How about a Vette C5R vs. Viper GTS-R at Laguna. Let the drivers pick which they want, it's almost equal....was thinking that or a twin turbo challenge, maybe supra 2.5GT twin vs. 300zx, those are almost equal power to weight (that's a little more affordable)???

Ah the beauty of "quick-tune"

Match-ups like what you've mentioned here will probably be pretty common in the gt4 wrs.
That will be especially true if you look at things relative to the GT3 wrs.

As with any suggestions the above quoted will be taken into consideration.
However, next week (w16) is not my week so there is only so much I can say... By my next race I may forget all about this. :(

So in that case, make posting in this thread a regular activity.

Until next time,
Good luck next week!

And now for my two cents worth of suggestions...

I would like to see a race between the two Holden Commodores (SS and CV8). The only difference between them is the number of doors.

Racing the two FPV's (GT and F6) would be interesting. There have been a few tests putting these cars against each other (like my old Big Road Test) and for differently tuned cars they are amazing close on lap times.

As for a track to race on, how about Grand Valley East Reverse - I love that track.

I think we should have cars that are harder to drive more often. This weeks Civic is so forgiving and easy to drive I find it boring. All you have to do is brake about 2 meters before the apex, and you can turn perfectly under braking! The only thing to worry about is those stupid computer cars which insist taking every line away from you.

Maybe something like a fully tuned Ginetta? Mine can lap the ring pretty fast, but you're on the edge the whole time, try to catch the ever sliding rear.

Or maybe a car on N1 tyres for a change, just a family run about, say honda odyssey?

Another rally would be nice, but with those old Rear Drive Cars, Like the Bluebird and the Datsun. (Or maybe a Group B challenge....)

How about the quickest time you can get in the Skyline Slipstream Challenge?

Maybe a double track challenge where you add the times of both tracks together. Say a twisty track like Paris V and a faster one like Trail Mountain. But the same car and gearing must be used for both.

But what would I know....

please say NO for those two... slipstream challenge was just a piece of ****

N tires i don´t use them even in real life, so in GT4... never...

let´s have something fast people!

Ive got one:
Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab hemi
grand canyon
single race
hp +10
weight +10
difficulty -10

basically: super ram vs renault turbo. he he

Id like to suggest one of the ice or snow trax, but i dont know which car type to suggest, as i havent been able to find a suitable one for the courses at all yet....

Anyone had any nice experiences?

I would say Ford RS200 or Lancia Delta HF, both stock...

If I may also give a suggestion... We could race normal everyday car (Clio, 206, Mini Cooper) or even a S2000 challenge. I would say Seattle or Suzuka =]

Yeah rally on ice with a Toyota GT Four Celica ... souns nice ...

Or a hot hatch shoot-out, where you can choose the car as long as it has a hatch ... or something like that, I like to see real world cars racing, not bloody souped up 10000hp cars ...

Me too! :dopey: Me too! :dopey: I want an everyday car race! :D

Yeah just like GT4 GT mode ... like a race where one can for example only choose between Audi (haha I'm biased) , BMW and Merc, with maybe HP constraints, or P/W limits ... that makes it much more interesting for me. It's almost like a real world test then ... I'd like that ... 👍

Welcome ppucci, hope you enjoy the races !

My suggestion for one of the next weeks is an Italian car - any car, racing or stock - on any track.

Just an Italian car - we haven't had any yet up to this point - it would be nice :D

Don't say that... I've sold my Zonda LM (one-time prize) :banghead: to buy the damn NSX :dopey:

What about less expensive cars?! 💡

less expensive cars are slow 👎
only if you have a bargain... like the HPA stage II R32...

long life to race cars!!! if you have problem getting money, just b-spec some DTM...

zonda lm i think a lot of people would love :dopey:

how about a Ford VS Holden in a hp and kg battle, say no more than 500hp and no less than 1200kg or something.

Slow CAN be fun! :) I does not need to be the Daimler Carriage around the 'ring, you know? :yuck:

It would balance the race, a fight for milliseconds! :) Maybe a FTO or an old Nissan, who knows? 💡

S13s vs S14s! No special models such as the nismo 270R... Hmmmm... Maybe an AE86 battle... On Trial Mountain! Lol, Initial D anyone?

I see the suggestions have been coming in a bit lately. 👍

Keep it up.
I've taken an interest in doing comparisons between cars in GT4.
That's about all I've done lately, car vs car... Most of the time it's the typical rivals, evo-impreza, tuner-tuner, etc etc.

The most interesting one so far was checking out the Amuse tuner cars. 👍
Carbon-R vs S2000GT1 in GT mode with Super Soft Racing Tires. :dopey:
Fun stuff for sure.

Anyway... Just wanted to come in and suggest some things for you all...
1) Track (new ones we haven't done yet, which to pick?)
2) Race car or Street car?

That's it for now (from me).
However, I'm going to search the archive to write out a list of the races we've done so far in the gt4 series.

That should help a great deal for picking new races. 👍
Back later...
Till then,
- :D

street cars, not FF, new tracks not done yet with exception of the nurburgring.

thanks kent! aka Bryan Mcfadden apparently

I think we should have a Trial Mt. race sometime soon here... And, not FF cars, we just did that obviously, street cars I think for this coming week sounds good, switch off every week or two. We just did two race cars in a row so something streetable sounds good. Maybe not in arcade mode... And just because we're in street cars doesn't mean we need to use sports tires necessarily. Or, if we do use sports tires, maybe be running around in a slower car...

I don't know what has been raced before... but I like the sound of tunned S2000@Trial Mountain... :) Or maybe low-hp Skylines@George V (both Arcade, free quick tunning) And for your question, I'd rather race street cars... 👍

I've got a few suggestions for upcoming races. Since I got my DFP, I've been trying out lots of different cars just to get a feel for the wheel. Also, since I'm totally fed-up with Week 16, I've been trying to stay sane by driving the tracks I know with the cars that I know - just so I can remember that I am fast

Anyway here are some ideas:

Some overly powerful race car on Tsukuba Wet. Something like the Lister Storm V12, Mercedes Benz CLK-GTR (which is easy for everyone to get), BMW V12 LMR, the Nissan R92CP, the Audi R8, etc etc. I don't know why but I love trying to control 1000hp on wet roads.

Lotus Motor Sport Elise at any track (Laguna Seca, Motegi Long and Monaco were lots of fun, but I imagine any city track would be entertaining as well.) BTW I ran this car in Sim Mode with full tune. close to 400hp and around 600kg weight. WOW! It drives like an oversized shifter kart!

Caterham Super Seven Fireblade at Sears Point Sports Car - Yes another lightweight British car. The track's elevation changes make this a big challenge because the car wants to take off like a plane over each hill.

Mazda 787B or Toyota GT-One on any track - just because I love the sound of those engines pumping through my system. If I had to choose a track for these cars, I'd choose the 'Ring.

I LOVE the idea of the C5-R vs. the Viper GTS-R. That would be an EPIC week.

Although I missed it (D'OH!) I know we've done the Evo - but it would be nice to get an Evo vs. STi battle going at a track like Tsukuba - as long as the performance of each car can be made equal (Say, about 350hp each and around 1300 kg). I'll take the Evo, in silver please
biggrin.gif
MR8 will take his in White (I'm guessing). I'm sure we could stir up a nice Evo vs. STi debate too :mischievous:

You could even alter the above race to include the Evo and STi rally cars - two of the best handling cars in the game.

Opel Astra touring car at Apricot Hill - the car turns on a dime, and that would be great for this track with those switchbacks and the final chicane.

Feedback anyone? Kent? CFM?

C5-R vs GTS-R sounds awesome... But maybe not for next week. I want some time off from race cars... Astra Touring car on Apricot Hill also sounds kickass, but not next week for previous reasons... Roadgoing STi vs. EVO would be sweeeeet, and not go by power to weight ratio, but just straight up the same hp and the same weight for each(or as close as you can get anyway).

And then I still like my Initial D style event, on Trial Mt. with some lighter, older RWD Japanese cars... Maybe with the cars tuned with semi-racing suspension, not fully modded cars, but not stock either, or maybe just turned up wicks in arcade mode. If someone wants me to run around the tracks in some of the cars to try and see if any car has an advantage, and try and find an equal setting for them... Lemme know!

And then again, maybe we could do race cars next week... :)

I dont think its time yet :sly:

I would like Trial Mountain 👍
👍 👍 :) :)
Thing about Trial Mountain....Are we expected to be clean before the start line of our hotlap? Seems like good etequete (sp?), but it doesn't show up in replay does it?

As far as im aware, anything goes before the start finish line.

Trial Mountian is a great track forwards or backwards! So CFM could run it backwards to stop that.

Before the start line of trial mtn forward it is not an anything goes... It's an honor system. :(
You all probably know what I think of that. :cynical:

New subject ... :D

What do you all think of used cars?
As in, there are certain cars you can only get through the used car lots, would it be a problem for you all to use one?

I will not be doing this for week 17, however, I was hoping that we could work a few used cars into the future weeks.

Let me know how you all stand on used cars when you get the chance.
I will be around to hear it as usual. ;)
