Hmmm, that does sound pretty good Puck... Astons on the ring... I'll have to give that a try to see if I like it as much as I think I might... And yeah, we could do the ring again, I had a bad showing that week(my first), and it's been 10 weeks! That's a decent amount of time... right? Maybe? :-D

Thanks again all of you who are showing support for the job CFM and I are doing.

Also...
I feel horrible now. :guilty:

UrsaMajorPrime, :guilty:
I should have made it clear (or even stated it if I didn't) but I already did a WRS archive scan to find and record the history of the gt4 wrs.

Now, just like in the past, I will have a copy of the wrs history posted behind my pc. 👍

Thanks for the effort though, much appreciate it.

Ah well, no worries dude - but I'd read through the thread and you'd mentioned doing it, but I thought (assumed? whoops...;) ) that you were gonna post it like I did so's we all could see it. My bad eh? Still, now the group's got a quick on-line reference to view for themselves. And I'm a PC geek from way back in the day (started on a TI99/4a) so a little click-copy-paste/click-copy-paste was nothing for me :)

And yes, thanks for the wonderful job - without you and CFM (someone else would prolly pick it up, but you ARE the ones doing it) so thank you and thank you again.

3 words: BRITISH RACING GREEN

For cars: I'd love to see some Aston's soon. 3 are available in arcade mode (so no one has to spend money), and if you set tuning limits, say max 500 hp, min weight 1650 kg, they even out pretty well. Could probably get a good battle going between the DB9 and the Vanquish.

As for tracks, if we're looking for something not done, I vote for Midfield, Autumn Ring, one of the Paris tracks, or maybe Seattle. Oh, and since I missed, I don't think anyone would mind doing the 'Ring again

Aston's = YES, Yes, oh yes.

Nurb = Oh god please no! At least not until later in the season when it will be a nice surprise and some of us noobs to WRS can get a few more practice laps in - it's soooo bloody long! :nervous:

i have a suggestion for a possible wrs week, how about a group b rally car at citta di aria?? that would be awesome fun!

We raced the delta S4 in the weex when kent was away and we were left to play.

That thing round citta was mental.

Fryz won.

I was 2nd or third or 4th or something, but i wasnt too far behind.

Was a good week.

Has anyone tried the mitsubishi CZ-3 Tarmac rally car around citta yet?

Put some RSS tyres on it, and drive her sideways.

And i dont think its too early to be running the ring again, but then i wouldnt, i love it there.

Lets have some tvrs of our choice round la sarthe II as well. Famine will vouch for me there.

Maybe i'll start a wrs where we can only use la sarthe and the nurb.... hmmmm

:mischievous:

Nurb is great, but so frustrating. If your not consistent you can leave 1 - 2 seconds on the track and never be able to nail a half decent run to your ability. Plus out of every 100 laps only about 5 would be clean. Its fun to drive yes but very frustrating to be racing at the limit.

I'm suprised we haven't done a bimmer yet. I don't know how I missed this car, but was doing some playing around last night. I found Kent's spot race at LeSarthe 👍 (ya gotta try it!) and wanted to use something completely different in GT class, so got out the M3 GTR race car, and wow! what a car! This car would be a great street fighter on a course like Seoul or even better, Hong Kong! It is so so quick out of the corners, and has great acceleration and brakes. I'll be driving this one for fun that's for sure. :)

I love my GTR and my GTR Race car - heck even the plain old M3 we used to qualify for this madness is a good car!

Bimmers would be good too. GTR Street is good, GTR Race is better. Maybe in a week or two so people don't complain about always using race cars ;) .

And yes the 'Ring is soooo long, but that's the point. I for one LOVE the challenge. It's the same as doing like a 3 lap race, just with 3 different tracks :D .

Oh course there will indeed be a bit of common sense stat checking, but beyond that it will come down to brand loyalty and paint jobs. Drivetrain format will also come into play... but all the technical aspects will take a back seat to the simple idea of which car I like more, not which car is fastest.

heh, i'm allong the same lines... only i tend to swing toward the sadist side when it comes to those car choices.
I have plenty of gran turismo 2 memories of humbling mediocre tso20 times with an xj220 racecar... good times.
I'm all about the underdogs. ;)

Astons would be great too Puck! 👍

The DB9 is a great car in the game and of course RL. :sly: To bad they weren't able to include the new DBR9's.......

As for the nurb, I don't know. I understand a lot of people like it, and a lot of people race nowhere else, but I've never warmed to it myself. (sacrilege I know!) :nervous:

Don't get me wrong. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the track, I just haven't spent that much time there. The week we did the ABT there was the first time I did a lap in anger other than license races, and the European races in gt mode. Haven't been back since.

Maybe I'll find a car I really like to drive there and then I'll be hooked. dunno. :boggled:

I know the one car I've had fun on the nurb with is the old merc gullwing fully modded for one of the european events. And it wasn't exactly a fair race! :P That old girl could fly! :)

Vintage european on the nurb anyone??????

as far as the green hell goes... i'm all for the idea that was tossed out earlier. yellow bird.
very reminicant of that insane video that ruf made ages ago.

Yeah for sure the DBR9 would have been one of my favorites had it been in there. Too bad. Didn't have to be Nurburgring, any track would do really. I just want to run it in the WRS again since I missed the week that it was run. I'm sure we all could go quite a few weeks more before running it again though ;) .

How about Seattle in modern American muscle (Mustang, Viper eg)

Or if we want new-for-GT4 tracks, Opera Paris in Renault 5 or CZ-3 Tarmac.

Perhaps it's time to set a race at Hong Kong :mischievous: that track is a lot of fun once you give it a chance.

💡 Astons at Seattle?? 💡

If only that mission didnt have ASM it would be so much easier.

we just got this week´s miata...

now back to suggestions, seattle, midfield, opera paris, george paris and laguna still to go... very good tracks to keep an eye on...

no BMW´s, Mercedes yet... RUF´s american cars...

but just last night i was thinking... Lotus Carlton fully tuned even with NOS at Midfield... very entertaining...

I would imagine a fully tuned Lotus Carlton anywhere would be entertaining...unfortunately we can't award points for drift style. :)

not paris george please no!! :yuck:

I still like my idea of the elise and zz-s finely tunned to be even, around motorsports or midfeild etc.

Randymcchickenf
BMW M3 around seattle reverse?
Only if it doesn't have terminal understeer like it did for the qualifier on that track...

And I'd rather the M3 GTR race car the other direction actually...? :)

I'll mention a few cars and tracks just because (I may be repeating myself but oh well...)

Lotus Motor Sport Elise
RE Amemiya RX-7 JGTC (since we're kinda on a Mazda theme lately)
Mazda 787B (had to throw that in here, see above.)
RUF CTR or CTR2
Caterham Super Seven Fireblade
ASL Garaiya JGTC
NISMO Fairlady Z Z-tune (if this is used, it should be fully tuned)
BMW M3 GTR (race car or road car, preferably on the 'Ring)

Tracks:
Laguna Seca
Nurburgring
Suzuka
Seattle Reverse
Laguna Seca
Tsukuba
Laguna Seca
Laguna Seca

Oh yeah, Laguna Seca :dopey: 👍 Pretty please?

Have I mentioned the Jensen Healey Interceptor Mk III around the High Speed Ring (forward) Yet? ;)

And out of 18 Weeks of racing, we've raced 10, count 'em TEN Japanese cars - that's over half the races and the last 4 weeks in a row. Can we avoid those for a while please?

My suggestions:

The Spyker is a fun little car...

I've had a blast in my Hommell Berlinette

I agree with the Lotus suggestion but not the Motor Sport Elise - the 350 would be a lot more fun IMHO

ANY TVR...(except the Speed 12 - fun, but crazy)

That Buick Special 62 is quite a sleeper

Alfa Romeo has a good lineup

I'll bet the Alpine would be quite challenging too

The Peugot 206 has been a fan favorite for many years...

*****

I really wish ya'll hadn't picked El Capitan both ways so early in the series, would be nice to have returned there without annoying anybody (and/ having given them all the practice ;) ) - but maybe in a month or two we can go back...

I happen to *like* Opera Paris myself and George V Paris is fun too - how about a French car at a French track? (Bloody Frogs...oy ;) )

And Seoul would bring everybodies times to within thousandths of each other I would bet, it may seem simple, but it's a challenging track in it's simplicty...

My next 2 cents ;)

I not a big fan of George V, but Opera is a track I look foward to in every championship. It's pretty fun in a touring car/rally car.

When you mention the 350 I have flashbacks to that one license test with the 350 at Citta di Aria. I hated that one. I still haven't gotten gold in it. I think it's mostly the track though.

The reason I suggested the Motor Sport Elise is because in GT mode, fully tuned, it will keep up with some incredibly fast cars. It handles superbly.

The 350 is more of an understeering, wheelspinning tank compared to the Elise, and we've had our share of those types of cars lately (R390GT1, 350Z JGTC, etc). I just think it would be nice to have a good neutral-handling car for the first time in many weeks.
