Well half of the drivers that I know here are very clean so I would be comfortable with heavy damage.

I wouldn't mind it either. I have a bad habit of getting my front banged up coming of the starting line into turn 1, but I've managed so far ^^

I would also suggest no visual damage, makes better connections.

I've got no problem with running heavy damage.

The only problem I found with it is that if someone does make a mistake and takes out another car is that the other driver suffers at no fault of there own and can cause upset at the end.
I know were you are coming from with trying to make it as real as possible but mistakes can be made and in GT5 with lag as an issue aswell heavy damage could cause a problem.
Maybe try it in practice session first with most of the drivers available if you have not already done it.

That is just my thought, wether the damage is heavy or light I'm alright with it and as it's been stated the drivers are clean in the series and I'm only a reserve driver.

i feel the same as hasslemoff in that heavy damage to a car in the wrong place wrong time does not seem fair. It will keep everyone on their toes cause if it happens to you your chance of a podium is vertually over! i would say try it in some practice sessions as well. all i know is that after yesterday i need more track time! :-(

If 'Heavy Damage' gets the green light, it'll be great fun (and nerve recking) for sure.
I'm up for it, but as said, there are times when a notch or tap happens through no fault off your own and that could wreck someone's race with all the preparation and race time down the drain.

It will off course be the real deal, just as the professional racing drivers. Only they race for millions, we for keyrings ... ;)

I'd rather have it that way as its not always about who's the fastest in a race, but who has the better race craft, remember, there's nothing a pitstop won't fix - and when I introduced it into my TSR's even though Dowlin suffered damage on lap 2, he still made 3rd by the end of the race. So its not all doom and gloom. :sly:

I too would be happy to have damage set on heavy, but also agree on Hasslemoff, Socal and Cobani's comments.

well it seems that the majority want to have heavy damage .
and i think that a practise race is a must so i propose a race this sunday

let me know who will attend ..

Yes, I will. Let's have a few races then!

I will be there. As it wont be an official race, will be at Spa, or did you have another track in mind?

Sounds like fun mate ill be available for Sunday. As for damage Im not fussed either way, also the points some of you are making regarding receiving damage through no fault of their own, IRL all racers run the risk of being collected in someone elses accident so, now that I think about it, id prefer having damage on heavy. Its a good point but I think we'd all be better off to rule out any reckless overtaking for definite 👍

Looking forward to a semi-competitive race this Sunday in the Aston 👍

All ready and raring to go! LOOK  New boots! :sly:

I won't be racing on Sunday but I like the idea of a practice run with heavy damage. 👍

if we're keeping it as realistic as possible then weather change takes it to the games fullest. just a thought. we don't get much other than sunshine in los angeles!! :-)

At TCR we have tried to go for random weather, but where all the testing was wet to dry to wet the actual race was all wet. (pretty random off course!)

If there will be wet races, it will elliminate the tyre strategy if it does rain, correct? (just as in F1)

Curious what Omnius thinks as I believe CORE has had random weather ...

It was more 'fixed' random

I used the real forecast from the location of any real world circuits and the weather from Northumberland for my track based NPS circuits, then I would set the weather in game to match as best as the game would allow

As for my last wet race, I had prepared for wet during testing but set the starting weather to make you experience a wet track incase it didn't rain (track at 40% and weather set to 25% with a change value set at max - 10)

It didnt rain but remained grey and the track dried out, this was at Spa with 38 laps

What I'd like to do is a 100% wet race as in my online testing it is quite possible to actually race in the wet, they must have tweaked the online physics as my testing proved to me that with rain tyres and the setup on my car I was using, I could control the car at speed. Plus it was fun!!! 👍
