You guys are horrible for not posting any sooner...Super Smash Brothers ROCKS!

So is this gonna be playable on normal gamecube or do I HAVE to get a Wii...?

There hasn't been much word. However, taking into account the dual-release of twilight princess on Wii's launch, it could be a possibility.

...Or not. I think, perhaps, it will be Wii only as a means to promote the new console and control.

Found some new images of Snake in the game.

Man, I am buying a Wii Just for this game And Zelda Twilight Princess. I am uber psyched about it. I can't wait to play it :D. Damn, That is a boatload of characters. Wow.

Edit.. Pac Man? Wow. How will that work? Will he eat everyone? Edit2, nevermind, It'd probably be based on the newer Pac man.. The one that jumps and has a platforming game :yuck:.

Yeah, it's a photoshop. That's why I said, "If only it were confirmed."

By the way, Duck, your user title/location made me burst out laughing.

I've never played Smash Bros. I've heard it's really good though. Hope this one is too.

I only like the very first one (N64). Later versions just take themselves way too seriously. Part of the fun of the original Smash Bros. was the over-the-top zany-ness, and the simplicity of the whole game. I played Melee a bit freshman year, and it just wasn't as fun to me. It was too much like a fighting game, and not in the button-mashing spirit of the original.

I didn't even know there was one for N64! I heard nothing but good things about the GameCube version though. I never touched it, because I still only play Street Fighter. Ryu all the way!

Honestly, Melee was just as much of a button masher, the only difference between the two was that Melee had a faster, better engine, and many people TOOK it seriously, not the other way around.

That and the fact that a lot of new items added a TON of new action on screen.

Turn off all the items, and you'll feel right at home, just like 64 Smash. But honestly, I think Melee is the better game, because you can cater to both the deep crowd, and the shallow button mashers.

Hopefully, Brawl keeps that formula.

I played on both N64 and GameCube and I can say that the GameCube one is better, simply because of better engine as JR said, as well as broader character choices. But Pac-Man is taking it too far though...

The Wiire
Nintendo World to Host Smash Bros. Footage

by Shawn White (2006-10-31)
According to the official Japanese Super Smash Bros. Web site, Nintendo is planning to present new footage of Super Smash Bros. Brawl at Nintendo World 2006.

Roughly translated, the site update mentions that Nintendo World 2006 will be the first time people will be able to see the new characters moving in real game footage - those new characters presumably being Meta Knight, Wario, Pit, Zero Suit Samus and Solid Snake.

Nintendo World 2006 takes place in Japan at three locations on four separate dates: Nagoya on November 3; Osaka on November 12; and Makuhari Messe - home of the Tokyo Game Show - on November 25 and 26. Brawl is not expected to be playable.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl, first announced at E3 2005, was shown in trailer form at E3 2006 alongside notice of a delay until 2007, missing its initial release date of Wii's launch. The game's director, Masahiro Sakurai, and Game Designer Shigeru Miyamoto have both expressed interest in adding other third-party characters, such as Sonic the Hedgehog, to Brawl's roster. The title is expected to employ the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for online fights, but will not utilize the Wii Remote's motion-sensing functionality.

The Wiire will have the latest info on Nintendo's anticipated brawler as it comes.

Can't wait. 👍 👍

Ooooh, ROCKET LAUNCHER. This is going to be the best SSB game ever.

Notice as the series goes along, they are getting more childish(wario, his FART attack) and more dark(Snake, Rocket Launcher)

I didn't like the impression on this game from the first point, anyway. Too many characters that are either pointless or plain weird.

kthxbye, dude. It's super smash brothers...

Yer, I've never found Kirby to be in even remotely good, but he's a good addition nevertheless.

Though, remember back when you realised that Mewtwo could be unlocked in S.S.B and you believed that he would be the ultimate fighter, though came to the conlcusion that he wasn't all that good?

Bad times...
