Should we all turn off our mics before race start?

And thanks once again for all the well wishes!!! The woman had a rough time of it but baby and mama are doing great.

What are the average times? With the baby and hospital stay I have had almost no practice time.

I'm running best of mid 1:46's, but I'm a good .5sec off the fastest times some of the others are running. I'm pretty sure I can get in low 1:46's by race time. I gained 3 sec off my previous best after a practice session tonight where I realized I was down almost 60hp from what it should have been. (Thanks again roadrash) :)

Looks like I'm about 3 secs off the pace, not sure if i've got the same HP issue you had or whether its just down to the fact I don't know this track so well, I'm sure you guys have all the american tracks nailed :)

Anybody wanna take a shot at a Z06 challenge? 7:22.68 on Sports Softs in Nurburgring.

Ok so I know I should've been practising for the race this week, especially now I've seen what lap times others are running, but I can't resist a Nürburgring challenge. It's by no means the cleanest lap, I struggled through Hatzenbach on cold tyres, then got onto the grass again at Eschbach and 2 wheels in the gravel at Schwalbenschwanz, so I can definitely go a bit quicker, anyone else having a go?

As for the pit, we are going with whatever the game has set. It worked for our last race here and should do fine once again.

We should all take the long pit road back out, that is the right way to exit. No cutting into turn 1 at the end of pit road.

Not making another race. 4th of July weekend and going out of town on Friday. Good luck everyone!!!

Just a heads up, I won't be making tonights event. Gotta bring home momma and the baby today and they are gonna need my help. Roadrash will be running this event.

I will try to log on and at least watch the race but other than that its roadrashes show.

Be safe, see you next round.

took me like 5 minutes to find our thread, when did they move it? So our we using the long route on pit exit? I didn't even realize there were two exits:dunce:

There is only one exit. To the left, the one that should be used. The other isn't an exit, it's a shortcut to turn 1.

Just watched replay...Great race last night everyone. Soopa, you ever cut me off like that again going into a turn and almost cause a 4 car pile up I will make it my personal buisness to make sure you come in last for the rest of the season....CHILL OUT. You can't be first all the time. Have some respect for the people around you.

OK said my peace and lets move on.

So this weeks race is NASCAR correct? We should all pick different cars, I believe there are 13 different cars:

P Impala SS (#14 Tony Stewart NASCAR, '09)
P Impala SS (#24 Jeff Gordon NASCAR, '10)
P Impala SS (#42 Juan Pablo Montoya NASCAR, '10)
P Impala SS (#48 Jimmie Johnson NASCAR, '09)
P Impala SS (#88 Dale Earnhardt, Jr. NASCAR, '10)
P Fusion (#99 Carl Edwards NASCAR, '10)
P Fusion (#43 AJ Allmendinger NASCAR '10)
P Camry (#11 Denny Hamlin NASCAR, '09)
P Camry (#18 Kyle Busch NASCAR, '10)
P Camry (#20 Joey Lagano Home Depot NASCAR, '10)
P Camry (#20 Joey Lagano GameStop NASCAR, '10)
P Camry (#55 Michael Waltrip NASCAR, '09)
P Camry (#83 Brian Vickers NASCAR, '10)

I'll take #24, just because it's the only one I have in this account. :)

Aren't some of those cars only available as DLC's? I hate to see people have to purchase a car for one race, it's different if you are joining a series where you will use the car for more than one race.

If anybody's short on cash, I can give out cars, I have 2 accounts, so I could send 2 a day. Would be cool to see all different cars racing.

Purchasing cars for races is so much easier now when you can make 500,000 in less than 4 minutes doing the Ferrari seasonal even at Le Sarthe.

I'll be in #14.

Great race last night. Soopa and I had a fun battle for 4th from lap 14 on. We had a collision going into turn 1, thought I may have bumped him off. I let him catch back up just in case. Silly me, then he ended up taking 4th after I slid exiting the bus stop. Doh!

Daytona should be a blast. Last night's sprint was the first online nascar I had done. Tried to draft past roadrash at the finish but he kept me at bay. Hope to get into some practice w/ you guys this week.

Nice work Brett.

We were discussing yellow flag cautions for the following reasons.

A car ends up backwards on the track for any length of time.

Two or more cars collide and spin out.

A car is punted to a wall and grinds it until field ditches him.

A car gets below yellow line and spins out in infield or grass.

Basically any type of action which results in a car becoming unable to keep speed or recover.

Now if you get loose and save yourself, tap with a few, get loose and lose draft, grind a wall, fall back BUT you recover, these types of things will not cause yellow caution.

If your in an incident or see another in one call caution ( we don't all have mics and have to help call for those who cant ) and the field is to slow to 60 mph. Stay in order, get back in order if you fall out and continue to roll track at 60 mph.

We are trying to obtain a pace car driver. Pace car will sit somewhere after pit road during the race. We will lap until pace car can enter pit after leading field in double file start, then roadrash will call ready, ready, ready Green! ( he's good at it and was just nominated ).

If you know of someone who will hang out and run pace car ask them. I think we will give them the pace car we make for thier time. I'll give them a RM Vette also. DJ had other suggestions to offer if we have a league volunteer do the pace.

Booggity Booggity Boogity!!!!!!!!!

Well said JT. I'll also donate a Camaro RM to the pace driver. Those rules sound perfect. I think the only thing you missed is the yellow line rule. No passing below the yellow line, if you go below the line and pass you should give the spot back. It would be hard to enforce but I think the honor system in our group should suffice

I'll be running practice rooms next week, feel free to join and to get used to running in the draft. As well as how to cleanly bump draft.

Well said JT and Roadrash. This can be a really fun race as long as everybody stays focused and drives fairly. We will be relying on the honor system pretty heavily but I know I can trust you guys.

As JT wrote, whenever you hear a "Caution" alert immediately slow down to 60 MPH and note who is in front and back of you. A pace car (volunteer needed) will then head out and lead the pack around the course for a lap or two. When the pace car heads to the pits you will then hear a "Ready, Ready, Ready Green" Do not accelerate until you hear the "Green"

I recommend everybody practicing with roadrash a least a couple of times during the week to get the hang of this.

I wasn't going to enforce everybody using a different NASCAR vehicle but if thats what you guys want to do then I'm fine with it (although someone already took my #48 car :grumpy:)

Maybe next time instead of a first come first serve when it comes to what vehicle you want we can hold a drawing or contest somehow.

I don't think we'll have to drive different cars it would be really cool if we did but some people might already have a car that someone else is using and shouldn't have to buy a new one for one race. Although it would be easier for DJ's awesome race recaps. I say run what you brung.

Well lets vote on it here:

Post whether you want to have different individual cars or post if you want to run what you brung!

My vote will be used as a tiebreaker only. I'll keep a tally of votes and post whenever votes are posted.

Roadrash's vote counts as Run what cha brung.

Can we pass with 2 wheels below the line?

Regan Smith was DQ'd I believe in the 500 race for dropping 2 wheels below the line vs. smoke a couple years ago. As far as Nascar is concerned it's out of bounds. As far as our league goes let's just try not to make a pass below the line. It will be hard to enforce, and were not Sprint cup drivers so let try to keep it above the line. I guess the only time it would become an issue is coming to the stripe on the last lap

I think I'm just confused with the real rules when it comes to some tracks versus all tracks. I think there is a few tracks where you can drop two wheels in the turns. Don't recall which and not really sure. But yeah, no wheels below is a good rule. I do know that in the game, at Daytona and any wheel below the line will spin you.

Daytona and Talledegga are the only two tracks that passing below the yellow line is forbidden

To clarify you can go below the yellow line as long as you don't advance your position
