Supercar Festival - Help, tips, information.

Hi.

I was wondering if anyone has completed the 'supercar festival' in 'Professional Events'. - ALL GOLD.

I am having trouble finding a suitable car to race with here.

The car MUST be over 493 BHP and not modified.
OK, so I tried the Cadillac CIEN, but when I won it, it was already modified, and you can't change it :(
I tried the Ford GT, now I won the first two races, but the next 3 I only came 3rd. (I was using B-SPEC mode, cause I was being lazy!)
Same for the Mercedes SL 65 AMG (nice car!) but I couldn't win all the races on B-SPEC mode.

Am I just being lazy (lol) and should I actually RACE (A-SPEC) the races or is it possible to win them ALL on B-SPEC mode with a certain car?
I've got about 500,000 cr.

THANKS! :dopey:

You can actually modify them to a degree. Everything except Rigidity and weight reductions seems to be ok - so feel free to tune up your Ford GT.

I used a Z06 Corvette with this GT3 setup, and it works great in GT4:

I added a wing, which makes a huge difference with those damnable Sport tires. Remember to go into Settings and max the downforce front and rear, because the default is zero.

Buy Sport Soft tires for the shorter races. I got all the best drivetrain, brake, chassis, and lightening options. I wouldn't go with any more than about 650 HP, though, just to keep it nice and driveable on the Sport tires.

With this rig I was able to win the Supercar Festival, and had a ball doing it. I also ran away with the El Capitan 200 with it, using only about 520 HP.

I used the Mclaren Mercedes SLR for that...
Eased my way through it.

Yup same here - although trying to keep up and stay ahead of that damn Cien (which kept remming me under braking) was a pain.
This really has to be done in A-Spec.

I was far ahead of the pack, i even overlaped them in 2-3 of the races, probably because i tuned it up a bit too much.

Well, that's a real problem in GT4, and here's the solution:

Run the second Special Condition (Easy) race twice, then sell the two rally cars you win. Now go to Germany and buy an Opel Astra Touring Car. Buy the Stage 3 NA upgrade. After an oil change you'll have 654 HP. Use this chassis setup:

http://www.gtvault.com/SetupDisplay.cfm?SetupID=0202J844508E887CA06240441

Use all those settings, but also turn the TCS up to 7. I also use the old "Tranny Trick" from GT3 to get the closest-possible set of gears: Slide the Final drive slider full right to 5.00. Now slide Autoset full right to 25, then full left back to 1 and leave it there. Now set your final drive for each track, or if you're lazy, set it to 3.90 for most tracks.

Now go to the European Events and enter the Astra in the Deutsche Touring Car Meisterschaft (DTM), or, in English, the German Touring Car Championship.

B-Spec every event. Set the speed at 4, and leave "Overtake" on. Click R1 to display the map, then click and hold L1 while you D-Pad right to change the speed to x3, or three times normal. Each event will then only take about three minutes. If you choose to monitor things, you can blow through it all in about 17 minutes. When the prize money starts being awarded, press X or Start to speed up the process.

The prize car's resale value is 743,749. You get 15,000 for winning each event, and 75,000 for the championship, so your total haul for less than 20 minutes is 893,749.

Best of all, you can do other things while your B-Spec driver is piling up cash for you, like eating dinner or sorting socks.

Repeat early and often, again and again, as many times as you want. I like to go through it three times while I'm getting ready for work. That's over 2,700,000 without even playing. At that rate, you can collect a bunch of very expensive cars in a hurry.

i tried doing the race with an m5 but the cien blows me right past and theres no sign of it coming back...

i tried with a 350z race car - 350z options - cien tuned - camero tuned but all are denied :scared: 👎

but im trying to find more cars
any ideas?

got about 300-400k and trying NOT to spend it... :dopey:

Why has no one tried with the DB9??? Thats what I planed to use for this c'ship. I will let you know how I did when I come home from work to play.

I did this with the DB9. I believe I had about 520hp on it, sports suspension, stage 1 weight reduction and racing brakes on it. The New York race was the hardest, the Zonda was just so much faster.

You were unsuccessful in the M5? Hmm. I won those races in my M5 (with veeery little mods I might add; suspension and some extra power with a sport exhaust and a chip). Try racing suspension and a stage 2 lightweight maybe. Upgrading your transmission might be a good idea as well. Anyways good luck buddy!

I thought this race was easy, compared to the GT World Championship in pro. i used a skyline, pretty modded out, to meet the HP requirements, you know. i found it easy in a-spec, so i was gonna try it with the WRX Prodrive, but i couldnt get the horsepower up enough. after that, i just used the S7 to wreck the series in B-spec. So here's the answer to everybody thats having problems: QUIT BEING LAZY AND USE A-SPEC.

I did it with the 83 Fairlady 300ZX (Z31). Stage 3 turbo I believe (whatever is the highest). I tuned the suspesion a little bit to correct the power-on oversteer, and put in a racing tranny so it didn't lose traction in 3rd all the time. I didn't get many aspec points for it, but it was pretty challenging since the Z31 couldn't quite hold it on the straights so you had to win the races in the braking zones.

I did find it very amusing in the rolling start camera shots to see a Cadillac Cien, Saleen S7, a Ford GT, then an 83 300ZX.. :)

ATLAST!!! weee....

i found a car which works :dunce: (Which speeds ahead) ... which isnt SO expensive to the tvr and is a good race car over alll
Drumroll* (From the congratulations screen from gt) :sly:

Corvette!! i realised i need speed yet handling

but the VETTE doesnt have handling... look in the fourms for the <Z06> tune up setting and belive me... it DOES help!!

Also this car is one HOTROD!! its fast, sleek and it looks dam nice... any color!
im going to use it alot in the coming future !! the car will need to get used to because at first it feels heavy, after the upgrades... try a test track into las vegas... ul notice a BIG time leap! lol

anyway happy racing.. i got the midfield and fuji through... clearing the cien and the Tommy and the SLR all together.... Easy Peasy!

try this technique out... if you want to :)

In this "Supercar Festival", I think cars with light weight are more suitable.
I tried the audi RS6 and max it up to 7xxps, racing suspension, stage 3 weight reduction(still weighs 15xxkg), and double clutch and racing flywheel.......
I let B-spec to drive this car to try.
Results.............
It will just rush out to the grass in every corner.
At last, I got enough money and bought a Zonda C12 and tune it up to 7xxps, racing suspension and reduced to 11xxkg. Wow! It just kickes every car's butt on the road.

I used my TVR Speed 12 for this series. It completely obliterated everything.

I agree. No upgrades at all, fiddled with the driving aide a little to get it to handle a little better and that was it. Won most of the races by 20- 30 seconds. And the BIG advantage is you can win it in the TRV manufacturer race which is easily won with a used Speed 6.
