Supercar Festival - Help, tips, information.

Mods if this is out of line for being behind the times please erase, but reffering to waggles post no.11, if you look at the screen for the vette!vette!vette! event at chevrolet, there is a pic of a chevelle on the screen....hmm.....why would there be a pic of a chevelle at a corvette only race?

I somehow beat this event with a Viper. :nervous: , got it done.

Nice work dude! Can you tell us which Viper, which tyres and mods, how many A-spec, and whether there's anything to look out for on the races (ie., unbeatable cars, necessary shortcuts, lineups etc)? We'd love to see your settings, but fully understand if you don't want to share.

Thanks a lot, cause we're looking for a car for this race series. Any help will be appreciated.

you dont need somebody elses set-up, and no shortcuts are necessary.

Get in the viper, give it an oil change and have a go yourself, it annoys me when people ask for settings just for races, if your building a drag car, or drift car, or top speed running car then fine, but when it comes to races you knuckly down and learn by doing, stop being lazy and have a go for it yourself.

Yeah, a Viper is mad overkill! I'm sure I could do the Supercar races in a stock one. No oil change. And N3 tires.

i cant remember what i did it in, i think it was a gt40.

I dont reckon you could parnelli, not with N3's, sport mediums then yes, but not N3's.

The ctr2 is fun car to do it in, or the cizeta............

I'm not sure about n tyres though, s2 or s3 will get it done

Okay, well Infineon would be the hardest track...I might need sports there, but the rest of those races?

The Ai drives poorly, I found the Supercar Fest quite disappointing, actually. When I entered my Shelby, I was running near-stock power (330ish horses) for some of those races...maybe 370 at the most. So a Viper with 440ish horses (whatever they have before oil change, I forget) should be cake.

I'll get it done sometime this weekend, you watch.

Man, FORGET IT. Fluke is right...I needed sport tires. I won that first race at Seoul, but the race line-up had to be heavily staggered to do it (no super-super cars, in other words....just cars like the Acura HSC, Nissan R390, Protomotors Spirra, etc).

So, me & my big mouth get me in trouble again. :guilty:

Stock Viper , think I did oil change , and went racing , just good clean steady laps and, whallah , a victory 👍

PF, if you look back a few posts you will see my notes on this race series in which I tell how I 200 A-Spec'd it. I hope you find them useful.

There is a lot of stuff to do in GT4, and I don't have too much time. That's why I come here for advice and suggestions. I haven't even made a good attempt at this series, but when I do I'd like to be well prepared, because of said time restrictions.

Thanks sukerkin and ImagineByLennon for your input, I'll use these notes. Were you using the SRT Lennon?

@ Parnelli:

So were you entering races then removing power mods to get points? I never even think of that, will have to start doing it.

I genuinely thought that i was about to be proved wrong......

Its a hollow victory, you could try it on S1's, that would still be awesome.

Correct. Actually I was relieved the first time I did the Supercar Championship because the original car (forget which one it was) I drove simply slayed the competition. Then I discovered I could enter a car and lower its power to get a closer race. 👍

Yeah, that's me looking at a few numbers and getting too boastful. :indiff: I was like: "Well if I did some of the SC championship with a 330 horsepower Series 1, a Viper with 440+ should be cake. Actually, my power in the Shelby S1 ranged from 330 to 425 depending which track I was at.

So yeah. I suck.

Don't worry...I'm not getting GT5:P yet...I still wanna wade thru GT4 till I've driven at least a couple hundred more cars. 👍

Merged this thread with the biggest thread on the subject.

Please use the Search next time; along with the Grand Turismo World Championship and the Speedster Trophy, there are about 20 threads already on the subject.

Yes the SRT , good luck with it. It took me a couple of times of fooling around with the proper driving line with this particular car , then it all came together, you can do it. 👍 Good luck buddy

yeah my friend sam is a big RPG fan and has that on Xbox360. Be careful though, you might get addicted.

Too late for that! I was addicted as soon as I started reading that game review. lol

You don't need a Cien. The Ai enters one because it's not actually very good at driving it (in corners). It's just good at flooring the accelerator down straights.

Yeah, I've noticed the Cien doesn't do very well in Supercar races, unless it happens to be the most powerful car present. It only does well at New York, for some reason. In any other race, a Saleen S7, VW Nardo, Tommykaira etc. will simply blow the Cien away.

The AI sucks to a point where I don't even bother racing them anymore.

B-Spec Bob is my new best friend to help me finish the game :)
