After an hour of trying to start the race we finally got some great racing at the end. But the connection in GT6 lately has been awful. I hope next week at Fuji we won't have as many issues. Good news is that we found a good host in MSP_Tomzon as we had stable connection after he took the room over.

Race went very well for me yesterday, had more pace than I ever expected. Nice to finally give Jtown a good fight! Usually I see him for a few laps then hes gone. Feeling really confident in the Denso at the moment and I hope to get myself a win again after a winless season 7.

Other news: There has been a change in car picks. Tomzon is changing cars from YellowHat Supra to Yellowhat GTR and Lozzaiscool is changing from Advan GTR to Calsonic GTR to team up with Stretchy.

Tony 1311 will drive the Toyota Supra this season.

Race 1 Results - Silverstone 17 Laps

2014%2B-%2B1

It was tough for my first race, I felt like a noob, yet apart from some mistakes and a few spins I did my best (even improved my best lap time :) ).

I tried a few setups from the internet and it seems they're all result in a loose rear, which surprized me because I always thought that the car must be as stable as possible and have a linear behaviour, I was used to suspensions stiffer on the front than the rear. But this time I tried to have a bit of oversteer and I confess I had better results (you may not have noticed ;) ) but I really have the feeling that the car skids instead of just turning, I find it weird and not "realistic".

What kind of setups do you guys use? And is there any way that you can try my setup, so I can see what lap time you manage to achieve with it (I'd like to know if my main lack is my setup or my driving)?

Anyway I'm glad I can race with you guys, I hope I'm not a burden too much ;)

I can try it out for you if you want. I use the same setup every race as I can't tune, I would give you mine but its horrible to drive, you should try and make something stable untill you get confidence in these cars.

On the note of the pre-race:

I ran out of fuel what sucked, should of got on the podium really.

I find it very hard to setup the gearbox for Fuji, there are a few turns where I can downshift once or twice depending on the gearbox ratio I set, can't figure out which option is the best.

Indeed it's very hard to find a proper gearbox tune here. By my experiance it's best to make your 1st gear longer so you can make turn 1 and the chicane in 1st gear.

BTW when racing a time trial in solo mode, is the fuel added to the car weight? It feels lighter and I my average lap time is around 1s faster than in the lobby...

Offline mode is quicker than online for some reason. Only test in a lobby with the correct settings ;)

Just a quick tip for our members racing tonight

Last week we had some connection issues (Mainly Ford) so here are some tips:

- Use your own internet and not a neighbours (Ford lol)
- Open your ports to enable a better connection for your PS3
- Connect your PS3 to your internet via ethernet cable (RJ45) If you have a router with strong signal there shouldn't be a problem. Make sure your router is in the primary phone port.
- Clear system Cache
- Check you are on the correct GT6 NAT type
- Make sure your sisters are not downloading porn

Lobby should be up a bit earlier this week so try and get on a bit earlier to avoid any late starts due to connection issues.

Also, I would add to that... Make sure your reset your PS3 and router before joining the race lobby and clear system cache in the game options, it definitely helps.

From my experience, ever since iv connected my PS3 to the Internet via an Ethernet cable I have had almost no issues in GT6. I used to have problems all the time when I used wireless connection, but my PS3 was in a differnent part of the house to my router, so I thought wireless was the only way... However I then discovered that you can buy a good quality extra long Ethernet cable (mine is 25metres :) ) and I just run it through my house and connect it for the races and pack it away afterwards. Easy! I can play other games online with wireless and it works fine, but GT6 seems to require a stronger connection than anything else! Don't know if this will help anyone, but thought I would share.

Hopefully last weeks connection issues were just a one off! And we can get straight into some good racing this week.

Looking forward to this race, great to finally get the season underway! Fuji usually provides some good battles too!

Well not much to add about connection preperations for tonight. I would like to ask everyone to make sure you do all you can for your connection to be as stable as possible. Hopefully we will have a smoth ride this time.

If there will be again a lot of issues with many drivers we might postpone Rd.1 to next week. Tomorrow there will be server maintenance on GT6 so I would guess there won't be as many issues after the maintenance.

I will post Track Rules each week in this thread you will also finf them in post 2 of this thread so be careful to check them before every race.

Also I remind everyone again - At least Two Wheels on kerb/rumble strip at all times!

Track Rules Updates:

Rd. 1 - Fuji Speedway F

-- On pit entry you must stay within the white line. When you decide to pit, exiting the final corner you must move totally to right and stay within the long white line leading in the pits.

Room for testing already up and running for those who want to make an early test.

Is there a rule for pit exit line too?

Also maybe we should remind people that we don't wait for other drivers if we crash into them and they leave the track. All incidents are dealt with after the race, you will get penalties regardless of whether you wait for someone or not. Slowing down on track to wait just causes more danger for other racers!

The pit exit rule is same at all tracks. Everyone must stay with-in the white line on pit exit as mentioned in the OP.

Cutting the white line will get you a penalty.

Driver Points Penalties:

-- Cutting Pit Exit Line - 1 Championship Point Penalty

I will try my best but if you dont see me online by 10 minutes to the start i will miss it.

Rd.1 Fuji Lobby Open: 1472-6681-3415-7081-2977

Hosted by MSP_Tomzon. We need to test how stable the connection will be, try to get in as soon as you can drivers.

Don't forget to clear cache, reset modem, change oil, etc.

Ran out of fuel but to be honest getting held up and having awful tyre wear cost me big this race. I got my maths wrong :P

By the way, if you haven't already, give us a like on facebook, Nis will be making me a co-admin over there so I can update it regularly with driver interviews and stuff. I also may start making videos again, we will see how it goes!

I took a glance at the replay and the Lexus had better tire wear than the GTR

Lexus also uses less fuel

Will have to think and drive smart to beat Niss next race

Lozza I am getting my Trial Mountain revenge next week

SO I AM BEATING BOTH OF YOU NEXT WEEK :)

Didn't he get you on the last lap? I remember watching the replay of it but it was around 2 years back.

I remember beating diesel off the line, then he hit me off as I got into first place on lap one :D lost 5 or 6 places!

Yes he got me on the last lap because i had to fuel save a bit and he was on fresher tires

Trial is a great track though , I cant wait

As I said before I can't figure out how @lozzaiscool isn't a 5 time GTF champion in the Lexus.

Yes the Mountain is a sick track! Got my first GTF win here beating Max by 0.2 ! Good old days. Can't wait myself for next tuesday.

I will post points tomorrow, running low on time today.

It was good to back up to speed at long last where I'm grateful that we began the preseason race at Silverstone as it brings out the best or worst in cars which lead to a successful post-test ready for season eight. On reflection of season 7, I guess I made some panic changes on tough tracks at times without getting other stuff sorted first with the GTR, but I'm not going to say too much until the season is over!

I made a reasonable start and had to avoid Uwe who must have got bogged down with low revs and then followed Niss and Lozza racing closely who were losing ground to J-T several seconds ahead. A ten lap fuel run in practice suggested two stops were doable and it turned out in the second stint that it very clearly was not so had to compromise the race by pitting for a third time towards the end which at least allowed me to have a go for fastest lap, which was already held by the very fast J-T. The car was very good in all corners and responsive.

Well done to J-T for being so fast with the Supra and all the understeer it has; yet another challenge for some of us to try at some point! It can be fun driving these if they are setup well and it can be even more if you can manage to get the lesser ones handling to your liking I have to say.
