Thanks guys for the kind words :). Of course I'm really happy with that results since I really didn't expect something like that with the Supra, even though there are a lot of straights in Fuji. It took me an awfully long time to get the Setup right. As it is now, I would say that it's quite competitive as long as I get my braking points right, because as soon as you only slightly miss any apex, you just lose such a great amount of time because the damn thing is just understeering all over the place. If anybody is interested, I could post the setup in here for you to try it out.

Anyway, I'm not getting too crazy after just one race because I know that there will be tracks that suit this car a lot less than Fuji does. Goal for the following races has to be a Top 5 finish, although that alone could be hard enough. It just looks like so close racing this season with at least 6 or 7 drivers able to win races.

Btw Mirial, Uwe had some kind of bug because he started in 3rd gear which is a shame, because his long run pace was really promising and he got stuck in traffic.

That's one of the things about Fuji where I feel the graphics are fuzzy from a long way off and I rely on getting some rhythm to get consistency with the lap times otherwise I just miss the apexes too because I generally use the inside kerb as the main point of reference even before the braking zone for most corners. So to some degree I'm driving with blind faith!

As for Uwe, he was very quick in Qualifying, but I haven't looked at his race and I imagine the car(s) he was behind had the wings trimmed out!

Have to apologise for not updating the points yet. Had a really busy week, my car broke down and I'm having big trouble finding the part I need, new part would cost me a lot of money. So I been mostly out of the house for most of the day whole week. I will have more time over the weekend.

Importan thing I need to mention, after a discussion with stewards we decided that the race in Rd.4 Apricot Hill will be a day to night race. So don't forget to practice also in the dark drivers.

Race report:

Q - 5th
R - 2nd

Q - Had a bad qualifying session, I did 31.1 in practice before race and I only got a 31.5 in Q. I'm always pissed when I'm way off my pb in Q. It's a shame as I lost a chance to battle for the win as JTown is so consistent in the race and its very difficult to get the time back even in a 240km race.

R - Had a rocket start! Like Hamilton in Abu Dhabi hehe. I got to 3rd after lap 1 with Lozza infront. Unfortunetly we lost to much time battling each other in first stint. As the stint went on I saw my long run is very good. I got pass Lozza just before 1st pit stops and wen't one lap longer then most pitting on lap 14.

In 2nd stint I was racing mostly alone. At the time I was much puzzled what Mirial is up to as he was looking like he was planning a two stopper but I wasn't sure if this strategy works fuel wise. Now having a nice lead over Lozza, I think he lost time in traffic after first stop. Jtown was about 10 sec ahaed and I knew the chances to catch him will be slim to none.

Not much action for me till the end of the race had a solid 2nd place which is a great result for me. I was more dissapointed not to be up there with JT racing and having more fun.

Can't wait to race after a long while in Trial Mountain, I won my first GTF race here so it's a special race for me. But need to get a better Q in and pull off the start.

Also need to thank Tomzon for a solid German working lobby we had in Fuji!

See ya next week

P.S. Tony1311 had a car crash in real life, he is fine but he coudn't make Rd.1 as he was obviously not feeling that well. Hopefully we see him in TM!

I'll blame the two bottles of Lidl's Finkbrau whilst entering 53 instead of 57 into the fuel spreadsheet in a hurry before the race. I would however recommend the lager to the drivers over there in Germany.....after the race that is!

"The shorter the better"?

Why did you go for that surgery then?

Ha!

Nice to see you still around AS. Have any spare time on Tuesdays? We had some late drop outs and we are in need of drivers. Even the old dog Diesel decided to come back racing with us.

This is just a quick reminder to all the drivers racing this Tuesday. When exiting the pits please be aware of other drivers and stick to the left hand side. There isn't a line here so it's down to common curticey to avoid ruining other people's laps/races.

Also if possible we will try to start the race 15 mins earlier as it is Christmas and people have things to do. If people can't make it 15 mins earlier and are late we will go back to the original time.

I would rather race at the normal time. But I might not even make it to the race, so see what other people say. So annoying, the first time we do trial mountain in ages and I might miss it!! :(

Race day gentleman! Can't wait to race tonight it will probably be very fun at this track.

I will have a room up for testing in about 30 min max.

No racing for me tonight. Good luck anyway.

Looks like I can't get a teammate this season.

Guys, I'm gonna give up this championship.

It's hopeless, you're way too fast for me and I will not finish other than last... Assuming that I finish the race! :)

But most important is that I don't want to bother you anymore. I'm so slow starting the race because I don't want to cause an accident, and I'm literally panicky when I see you in my mirror! I try to move from the racing line and not slow you down, but I do it all wrong which generally results in a spin or almost, and eventually I DO slow you down.

I enjoy racing with you guys, even if I'm finishing last, even if I'm getting lapped, but I don't want to spoil your championship.

BTW during these few weeks I've learned a bit more about setup and driving. Thanks for that! I'll try to get better, involving in other races of my level, and if one day I achieve to get good enough then maybe I'll join this championship again :)

Thank you guys for your welcome and kindness! Have fun and merry Christmas! ;)

My advice is stick at it, I remember a year or so ago one of our old members was in the same boat as you. After a season or two he ended up being a race winner. Never give up ;)

Q: 5
R: 7

Car was looking really good in practice so I was quite confident of a front row start, and come qualifying, the two runs when the tyres were at their best enabled me to be either slightly down or ahead at the splits up to sector 4 and then I brushed the wall twice, losing me a couple of tenths...

I had not too good a start but made up for it with a pass on Juju at turn 5 (apologies Juju for brushing you into the wall as I didn't think you were there). The remainder of the first stint was spent maintaining a 5 second gap to the leader in fourth place whilst keeping Andro behind and moving slightly in on Niss in 3rd.

The race started to fall apart during the first stop when I was held for 5-10 seconds longer than usual and I rejoined behind Lozza and Turbo with Andro immediately behind. I lost some rhythm in the annoyance of the slow stop and got past after a few laps which took me up to the second stop which was also slow. The third stint was much the same and I hit Turbo making his stop coming into the pits. This time it was a normal stop, so it dawned on me either there is a bug or PD have incorporated their own pit lane speed penalties. The last stint was spent reeling off the laps which was mixed with a couple of half spins and a pass on Turbo down the back straight.

@Tijee Probably best for you to find a good setup that works plus lots of practice. Most drivers here will all use a different setup....I even used one that J-T tried for Spa with the GTR and I was nowhere with it, whilst he was able to do mid 2:11! If no one has done so already I could pass on a GTR setup of mine if you like. Good setups encourage the right driving habits and everything can be transformed from there, plus there's a lot of contradiction across the internet which causes nothing but utter confusion. It's possible that all this confusion has lead to PD changing the physics to and fro a few times in the last year.....

Happy Christmas to you all!

Thanks Mirial, some have already sent me their setup but I would be glad to try yours! Indeed they are each time very different, it's hard for me to know whether I have a bad setup or bad driving habits (most likely both). I'll try to race in GT3 for now, and actually I'm very comfortable with the stock setup of the SLS, with max front downforce and nearly min rear downforce. But whatever, I know I'm too shy with the throttle on turn exit, and that's because I don't use the entire width of the track, I'll work to fix that.

I was actually watching your lines yesterday and some of them were wrong, or a bit off. More advice would be watch other drivers as much as you can and see where they place the car. Watch race replays as much as you can too!

You will get there my friend, don't worry to much
