This "developer's blog" from Milestone has nothing to do with V8, but if you scroll down and past the cute Christmas ... errr ... card :D you will read a piece about the evolving track conditions. Apparently they are developing this feature also for their next SBK game (SBK X).

Can we expect this game to have the orbit mode from their MotoGP and SBK series? I didn't play the first Superstars V8, so it may have already included it.

pino-r,

It would be much appreciated if you could keep us updated on any info they reveal in Italy. Because at the moment it seems that they mainly give info in italian or test possibilities only to italian game reporters/testers, so english info is a bit hard to find.

Do you mean a camera view from above (panoramic view) in replays?

Yes please, post all info you can find about this new game.

unfortunately I use a translator I don't speak English :nervous:
I will look for' the newses ,there are few information but everybody says that the game and' improved .
nevertheless I don't trust a lot the critiques of the sites of videogames ,
we hope for a demo for ps3 👍

bye bye

In MotoGP08 (only one I played, although SBK09 had it supposedly), there was a selection in the pause menu that would give you access to a 360 camera around the car, but everything would be frozen in time. It could be used to see how close you were to curbs, other players, etc..

Oh, that's what you meant.

Yes it's possible to pause the game and rotate the camera 360° around the car, zoom in, zoom out etc ... . Let's make it even more clearly, it's the same feature shown the youtube clip you've posted! I have to add that I have the PC version, not the console version.

I still can't find any information on US availability/release. The only site that appears to sell it is the one I linked above. Anyone?

Does not surprise me. Any idea on the vendor I linked earlier? Seems reasonably priced for an imported game.

These are the multiplayer features of SBK®X by Milestone:

A little summary

* 16 players multiplayer
* Three customizable online game modes: Quick Race, Time Attack and Championship
* Arcade and simulation support
* Use your custom pilot during online races
* Support for AI drivers during Quick Race and Championship races
* Voice chat on all three platforms
* Password protected matches on PS3 and PC, friend slots support on Xbox 360 (for all you pros out there that want to do serious matches)
* Race time and ranking leaderboards
* The host can kick players (you know, there are a lot of griefers and trolls out there)

I don't know what's new related to the last SBK game and how much it's related to the next V8 game.

Kicking and passwort protection might be new. And they changed from server based networking (server=host) to a P2P model.

Hopefully the reviewer will explore the wheel and other settings in the next video. The graphics seem acceptable, the AI seems smart enough to avoid collisions.

One thing I note is that all current generation games seem to give you more driving camera view options than GT5p does. I hope, but doubt, this will be incorporated in GT5. This is particularly irritating to me.

The physics seem to have changed. In the first game, losing car like he does in 7:05 was quite impossible. It might have done some over steering but you were usually able to keep it in control so that it would not spun out.

Wheel support doesn't seem that good in this video, I hope it'll get fixed before the release. I have high hopes for this title, but I'm also afraid how it'll really come out. Personally I'm willing to forgive a lot if it can deliver good overall experience. But majority of players aren't, so it's possible that this will become a niche product just like the previous title.

Edit: I guess this hasn't been posted yet:

I tried the demo and it is much better than the first, opponents actually race you, graphics are solid and presentation is slick. Best of all the physics, much improved low speed driving and just generally more real. Evolving track conditions are superb addition as well. Thumbs up all round from me.

Woot! Thank you for the feedback. Hopefully there will be a PS3 demo prior to the release, but I think I'm buying it regardless.

Good news, thanks! 👍
