Based on my performance at Interlagos and the practice race yesterday, I am way off the pace of everyone else in the series. Instead of being in everyone's way as I trundle along to a last place finish, I've decided to withdraw from the series. In the mean time, I'm going to continue to practice. Hopefully I'll be back at a later date with some skills. :dunce:

Good luck all!
@twiget56
I concur with Mike. The best way to learn is to be forced to do lap after lap. There is absolutely no replacement for seat time with others around you. Solo practice is useful for training but I know many driver who do nothing but solo time trials who are hopeless around other drivers. Endurance is the best way to learn, lap after lap and no two are exactly the same. please stay. Just ignore the others, hold your line, and learn. You in no way upset the faster guys. Who knows, a year from now some of us may be chasing you.

I also agree, you should stick around. The only thing you'll learn by pounding around on your own is which way the track goes. You couldn't have entered a better group to run with. You need seat time with other cars on track to improve your race craft. You don't have to worry about getting beat up in here!

Stick with it 👍

A note to all:
Except for the fast G2 car you WILL get lapped! Having a lapping accident here could be HUGE.
Please hold your line. Repeat...HOLD YOUR LINE....be consistent.

Its really had to ignore them but its the thing to do.

Anyone one want to do some practice...I’ll be up around 1330 central

Before you guys make me a pro remember I got destroyed last week. This track just suits my car and driving style. Lol. And Marcus still smoked me.

Remember you will probably get more points as a pro as there are fewer of them. Stay as an am but be prepared to move up .:gtpflag:

We will start from a grid start and pace single file at between 80 to 90 mph. The start will be when you can apply power exiting Forrest’s Elbow, the left hand turn onto Conrod Straight at the bottom of the Mountain. DO NOT SREW THE POOCH by riding the tail of guy in front of you and becoming part of his accident.

Gr3 pole man will take adequate spacing during the Pace.

There will be a single mandatory 5 minute pit stop. This stop may not be made in the first 15 minutes or the last 20 minutes of the race. It would be advisable to practice pit entry. If you screw it up you may be repositioned onto the pit straight with damage .

Thanks to @Argon for the illustration above.👍

Why the change? I thought you and your 'Stang liked Bathurst?
me and my stang do but it was brought to my attention that the Stangs tires won't hold up at future tracks. Also, it seems likely that my pace here is going to move me up to the pro ranks. Gonna need the fastest car I can possibly get in order to have a shot at this thing. My goal hasn't changed, just want to make it to the end clean. But I'm definitely feeling extra pressure to be quick. I'm confident here but the rest of the schedule not so much.

A lot of you guys seem to know each other pretty well. Since I'm one of the new guys, I though I'd put a little extra background info on here. I'm 31 years old and have been playing GT since the original on ps1. That means I've been playing this game for around 2 decades. So I've been using a controller since you had to steer it with the d pad. That's how I'm able to keep up with you guys on some tracks. I began racing in endurance leagues about 4 or 5 years ago on GT6. Had some great races but also really ugly incidents that I could have avoided by not being so aggressive. Not saying they were my fault, just saying i could have avoided it. Haven't had online access in a while now so this is my first league in GT sport. I'm a huge fan of all racing but endurance road racing is my jam. The dream would be to do it for real one day, but for now I'll just putter around behind you guys for a couple of years.;P anywho, good luck to everyone tomorrow and thanks to the organizers for creating this amazing league.

Welcome Joe and glad you joined our little group

I guess us "old" hands should introduce ourselves to everyone as we have a bunch of new faces. I'm Mike, 63 been playing racing games on other platforms (Nintendo) since before the PS was launched in 1994 and have been an avid player of every GT release since it's inception launch here in the UK in early 1998. I too was a Pad user right up until the launch of GTSport.

awesome that gives me hope that I can eventually transition to a rig.

I think I'm still registered for a group 3 car (BMW M6), but I've been doing most of the practice races in group 2 cars. So I guess I'm switching to group 2. Just to be clear:

GTP ID: jas1101
PSN ID: vonSchmitten
Car preference: Nissan MOTUL AUTECH GT-R
Driver Class estimate: Pro

So you all this evening/afternoon!
