I’m ned ,72, ex USAF pilot and amateur FF driver in the early days and after SEA I did a bit of racing in the UK. Started in GT 5 on a dfgt. I absolutely love endurance racing as it is the only place this ole fhart can scoop up places from faster/younger guys.
Remember old age and treachery will occasionally prevail over youthful over exuberance and and surplus of testosterone :lol:

If you pit during qually to change tires and or fix damage when you exit if you do not have time to finish your out lap before time expires and within the extension time you will be frozen the the results field. IT is a very good I dea to get a banker lap on the books before trying anything fancy.
 
please take a snap shot of your qualifying position and if we are in two rooms note your grid position and go t the room indicated. Odd to room one and even to room two.

Also practice pit entry. If you get it wrong enough the sim will reposition you onto the start straight
 
As a result of the mayhem caused by multiple room changes and abandonments the management profoundly apologizes to one and all. :crazy:

Some Announcements:

The Bathurst Race has been postponed and will become the last race of the season.

The Brands Hatch race is next on the second Sunday in October.

It will be considered as the first race of the season .

As a result you may reselect your car or class for the first four races if you chose to do so.

Expect some rule and procedure changes to prevent some of the problems that arose today in the next couple of days.
 
Even though the events leading up to the race were a bit chaotic, I still enjoyed the race yesterday. After my stupid mistake on the initial lap (cold tires!), I pushed maximum for 10 or so laps to regain my starting positon. There was even a small chance I could snatch the fastest lap away from Setted, until he decided to also do his final run on the supersofts :guilty:
 
Once we got going I had a great lap in qualifying, Marcus looming in my mirrors all the way, which put me second in gt3, right behind him and his gorgeous Aston. Still getting use to running a pace lap, it's just not something I've done a lot of, but made it through that and got a good launch out of the elbow.

Marcus spun the tires and I was able to get alongside him just before the kink. Immediately forgetting my single goal of not wrecking someone, I took the right side and forced the issue into the chase. Somehow we managed to avoid crashing before the first lap even started, and I took the lead in class.

Had to slow up for one of the gr2 guys who had a moment and I wasn't sure if they had damage or not so I had to take it easy into hell corner. I managed to stay ahead of Marcus for almost 3 laps. It was glorious. But that was all I could do before I started making mistakes. Had a bad run out of the elbow and he got by me, I did my best to stick to the back of him but after a couple of laps he pulled a gap.

Kept a solid pace behind him for the first stint, and then I took too much fuel. That was all it took and he was gone. Had a big gap to third until Ned asked about it in chat and I immediately spun on the exit curb in the last corner. Haha. Limped it home from there. Lots of fun but I really have to be smoother. I suck at Brands so this one will be tough
 
NEW PROCEDURES

1. If we encounter problems with dancing cars, visibility problems or any other server related driver problems we will abort and reset ONCE. If the same problem recurs we we proceed with the race and the drivers encountering the problems will leave the room.

When we reset the room all drivers will exit the room, reboot their PS4s and delete cache before reentering the room.

2. All races will have an entry list.

The entry list is posted in #4

You may not race if you have not entered.

Entries must be posted by the Wednesday before the race

To enter post here with the usual data form.

If you are tentative indicate that you are a reserve.

The entry list will be maintained and posted periodically on this thread.

If multiple rooms are required a room list will be posted on the Friday before the race.

Edit: We will open a second room when the room hits 13 entries. Reserves and overflow will be placed there. The second room will not race until we have 20 drivers present. Registration should make any changes to the entries unlikely but this will provide a procedure should we need a second room that was not anticipated.

Also the G2 grid will not be split unless it has less that 6 entries should multiple rooms be necessitated.

I actually just used another pair of softs, never went to super softs :D

Buy a wired headset with mic. Even really cheap ones work.

I use a RIG 800. Works like a charm and the charge lasts upward of 12 hrs.
