I got a 2:28 something in the BMW with S2 tyres (DFP).

(I actualy didn't come in first, so I guess there's alot of room for improvement. I also broke hard once when I was going to back-end a car. I did make contact with a car, though it was very slight.)

2:32.892

EVO X
N3/N3, sixaxis, all aids off, TC: 0, rules followed.

Still, lots of small mistakes, I'm guessing it's not hard to drop to the 2:20's.

Agreed that high 2:20's are obtainable, don't know if I fully agree that it is not hard ;) Although I'm sure for some of the Pro GT pilots out there it may not be too difficult.

anyway i dont have the replay for the 2:06:991 cose i didnt think it would be such a big deal , but , i did 2-3 races after i got home from work and came with a 2:07:154 on the 2'nd lap ...if that counts for anything ?
here's a link to the replay ( i apologise for the ****ty quality ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1K5DBPuWq54
lots of mistakes and can easily see a low 2:05:xxx

Nice little lap 👍

:nervous: not shure what that means :grumpy:

You did that lap with a sixaxis? Good job!!
I don't see how you are braking that late going into turn 1, when I try to brake at the end line of the pit lane merge I like you did I end up across the gravel & in the wall!!

That's a really fast lap, specially with the sixaxis. Really smooth steering there. 👍

What's really puzzling me is how you got a lap that fast with such a 'standard' driving and some trajectory misses...

Now I gotta wait for the GT-R to be available again to drive it and compare.

OK, no offence but I would like to ask 1 more question.
What is your setup with this lap ? all driving aids off ? professional mode ?
I also drive using sixaxis - I do not own a G25 or DFP unfortunately.

But anyway - respect for that lap ;-)

My current in the Black Mask is a 2:12:846 with R3's on professional with all other driving aids off... and if you want the black mask back... just make a new user and open it up... it'll come right back! thats if you're too impatient to wait for it to officially come out in a couple of hours!

Edit: Just ran the demo again with it on standard simulation mode all aids off and got a 2:09:326... and once more with standard simulation with the one aid on and the other one set at 5 (which i believe is default) and got a 2:08:124 all with sixaxis btw...

maxzibit, do you have the simulation set to pro and all the aids n` stuff turned off? I would think that you have them on... but its still a nice lap for having them on i must say!

heres the link for anybody whooz confused on how to switch the simulation settings and driving aids... its got all the translations and everything you'll need!

The lap was on R3 tires ,AT gear, Professinal mode , ASM on , TCS set to 0

the GT-R feels a bit heavy and having asm on it does help for me, and ye i know it's and "assist" mode :) will try some laps having it off, later today

2:06.199 (improving on my 2:06.632) and 4:22.069 for the whole race. It's tough pushing your way past all those gorgeous cars on the first lap, you don't want to hit them and mess up their nice paint, especially the gorgeous F430's :)
GTR, R3 tyres, no aids, Pro steering, Starter Mode, Driving Force Pro, on the track the whole way.

I love the way you can feel the diffs of the GTR adjusting as you come on and off the throttle and throw the car around. Great work PD. 👍

Edit: Just tried R3's on the front and R2's on the rear to see if the harder rears gave a better balance. They did. 2:05.332.

EDIT!!!: Done in Starter Mode, not Pro Mode.

i knew that time was too good to be true for full sim. You should try it with N's & MT... you'll prolly throw your sixaxis against a wall ;)

I ran a 2:11.223 with the Black Mask GTR, R3 tires, stability & traction control off, Pro setting, AT & DFP wheel.
It wasn't a perfect lap so I know there is more to be shaved off that time.

Just changed to standard physics setting & got a 2:07.431.

exactly. what's up with that?...

it really is a huge difference and we don't even have to try hard to crush a great lap done on professional mode...

So im running pretty slow times, although its mostly because im pushing and im not reallly too focused, im usually in the 2:3x.xx's with the Evo on R3 no drivers aids, but my biggest problem in general is throttle control, using a DS2 or the SIXAXIS its seems like i get 0 throttle or full throttle and its killing. I try using the right joy stick but it doesnt help.

Are there any tips, or is it worth to just go out and get a nice wheel (keep in my i have never used a wheel since Audi had a simulator at Road America 3 years ago, and i have never used a decent wheel on any GT game. Also im at college so i dont have a ton of loose cash without getting a job or giving up alcohol.)

Set up:
Professional Mode, No Assist, S1 Tires, Sixaxis. I let all cars pass me on the first lap for a more comparable times.

Evo X: 2:29:xxx
Impreza: 2:28:xxx

I think it's worth it to get the wheel. (I'm just being away so I need to use the controller.) But if you must stay with the controller, it's not as much fun but it is doable. Throttle is not so much of a problem for me, the steering control is. What you need to do is to develop a sensitivity of your thumb. For me, I use the analog control. But I think it'd be possible with the buttons too. Try to learn with rear wheel drive with N2 or N3 tires. You'll make it!

Yea I thought it would be the other way around.

:embarrassed: You guys are right. I had accidentally not changed to Professional Mode (had only done Professional steering). Bloody non English version :(
Just ran a GTR 2:10.996 with Pro Mode. Feels roughly the same as being on S3 tyres on Starter Mode.

EVO
2:21.590 R3's.

Ok i dont hav the exact times but i finished up on 5:03.765 and im pretty sure my last lap was a 2:25 in the BMW with S2 tires, cockpit view, using a Sixaxis controller and professional physics. Taking the win by 0.981 after being 1.181 behind heading into the last sector. I clipped the grass going into 130R causing a huge slide (luckily im primarily a drifter so i could hold the slide and make it look good :P). Followed by a last ditch lunge into the chicane cutting infront of the leading Clio V6 by centimetres on the direction change. Probably my best overtake on Suzuka in any game.

Note: Going 100% from the start in full race conditions (i.e. no waiting for them to go ahead or punting them off track)

be bettering this time tomorrow but just had a quick shot

gtr, r3 front/rear, asm off, arcade mode, tcs off, auto 2:07:7.. using sixaxis. i normally drive manual but been mostly mucking around getting a feel for the cars atm and seing how each tyre type feels.

also have a g25 on the way so looking forward to that experience.

* GT-R

* Dashboard view

* R2 tires

* Simulation mode in the steering options

* and professional in race (driving) options.

* 2.10.414

must... drop... to... 2:09.xxx...

gonna try it with n2's now. :scared:

edit: the first post should be updated with the times, would make it easier to see how you compare to others instead of going through the entire thread.

edit2: took out the evo for a few laps... (hate driving the gt-r with n-type tires)

2:31.668s

same setup as above, but with n3's.

Did 2:23.992 with the Evo no aids, R3 tires, manual, dashboard view, pro physics, and simulation mode.
