Suzuka Surpise Night 2!!! Mon 7th March....All Welcome

This is the 2nd (and last) Suzuka Surprise Night.

All welcome...especially newer drivers. :nervous: ...so driving aids are allowed... 👍

You will be racing 10 laps of the Suzuka Circuit (followed by more shorter races) on Monday 7 March at 9.30pm GMT. :crazy:...but there will also be a practice race session on Sunday 6th March at 9pm...all gtp members welcome to this.

Room (open lobby) opens on Monday at 8.30pm for practise/qualifying. (PSN: DJAbacus..add me) :)

You will not know what car you are racing until you join the room, though I can tell you it will be 4WD.

The car will be ready to pick up in the garage at 830pm. All you need to do is choose the colour and tyres. :drool:

There will be no points awarded. :rolleyes:

Please try to drive as clean as possible. :sly:...but don't be too worried about the odd bump eh??

Banter while driving is more than welcome. :lol:...so get a headset...

Room opens at 4.30pm your time
Race starts at 5.30pm your time

Driving aids are optional here.....on or off it's us to you......this is ideal for getting used to online racing and meeting up with others....sign up if you are interested..:)

Great to have you onboard yoghurt_dog.....when I get back at the end of the week I'll add you or visa versa and we can try and hook up over the weekend to get you online friendly. I have been playing games online for a few years but new to GT5 and driving games in general...really surprised how much I love it. I think GT5 has loads to offer 'offline' but nothing beats the fun of playing and chatting with 'real' people....though I have only done this once and I got lapped as my car was too slow and well i'm still a pretty 'average' driver at best.

That's why I want to get a little group together who are either still newish and/or more experienced drivers who don't mind if the playing field is made more even with identical cars and the option for others to use driving aids if they want. Regarding 'clean driving'....let's try hard to drive clean but let's not cry if we get a bump....clearly deliberate 'shunting from behind' or 'barging of the road' is a bit uncool....

yeah...that would good piti...but chat is optional.

If you know anyone who may want to join us invite them...there are a few people on my friends list that may fancy a 'fun run'.

I have noticed there are loads of guests always reading these forums so if you are one of them reading this now and want to race just send a friends request quoting...suzuka surprise and come and join us..you don't have to register on these forums...the focus is on fun and social racing (but competitive)...I can't afford to take myself too seriously....:lol:

Alright, I'd like to take part in this event. My timezone is GMT-5 so taking a shot in the dark...4pm my time the rooms and 5pm is the race. If I'm right, I could make those.

My PSN_Tag is CSSdk. I'll add you the next time I'm online... how long do you suppose the race itself will last, since it doesn't start until 11 pm here and I haft to go to school the next day...

Yes...10pm is a bit late now I think about it...but don't want to complicate the issue by changing it now.....I kind of had a guess at 3 x 10 = 30 mins as was no where near my PS3 when I first posted this thread but could be less....great to have you on board .....I was thinking a 9pm GMT start on a Sunday next time would be better for all....

So the general idea (as I'm sure you all know) is we can all practise Suzuka circuit before Monday's race...try to get to know it well etc...but will all drive a 'mystery' car which we won't know until we join the room...btw I am not going to think about what we are going to drive until I open the room...it will be a FF drive and less than 400BHP kind of car...

Stick me down if theres room :) What type of rubber are we using? I will be using manual which I havent done at 400hp so I will be pretty sloppy lol

Sure..it's great to have you on board...I will add you as soon as I can get to my PS3...

I think I am going to put a max of 10 for Monday night as it seems other groups are having lag issues with 16 racers.

...btw I only had my wheel for a day before I went away (sat-thurs), had a little go this morning (my wheelstand pro arrived!!!) and I couldn't drive at all...OMG...I need to do some hours before Monday night..:lol:

I am literally going to chose a car from the garage list on the night...will be one I have never driven...which is pretty much all of them..I guess they all come 'out the box' with standard tyres???

asdfg...you have hosted a few races..What's the best way to set the hosting up on the room? From memory there are 2 options aren't there...one where you fix yourself as host and another where the hosting is shared...it seems I am nat type 2??? Any suggestions welcome.
