T500RS Racing Wheel for PS3 $150 Microcenter (Still hope?)

Well I've been looking for wheels like a hawk for the past few weeks and checked the Microcenter site along with all the others Thrustmaster has listed for the T500, and it was only yesterday it was at that price.

Ok, thanks, I now am a little less sick. I just called the Minneapolis Store Sales Floor 15 minutes ago and the guy said the "Last 5 Units they had were all sold this morning."

Great!! My order got cancelled. Damnit microcenter. Also, I hope those who bought it only to make a profit (maximum profit like selling it for $500) don't make a single dollar all their t500's collect dust.

Don't thank Micro Center thank the people who bought 5 or more to resell to make a profit which they may never make. Thrust Master is coming out with a new model for GT7.

Spoke to rep again, worried they might have not prioritized my order since I didn't use next day but here's what he said:

me: on my order #, can i change the shipping to next day? people have ordered the same item after me but it seems you guys are selling my order to them instead...

me: if you tell me i ordered, then other people ordered after me, but you guys fulfilled their orders first that is going to really upset me

me: i'm just worried i will not see it fulfilled

rep: No one would take your order away from you and give it to someone else. We would have no reason to do that. The orders are processed in the order received. To change the shipping method, we would have to cancel your order and you would need to reorder with next day, but that would put you back at the end of the line again. Your order has been processed and sent to the warehouse. If it is out of stock, it will be canceled and you'll be notified by email. If it is available, you'll get an email with the tracking numbers when it ships.

me: Well, don't cancel it please, I'll keep waiting though. Thanks for the answer

Well they could have limited the offer to one wheel per customer.

I was so excited about this that I contacted my relative in the US to order it for me. It's a shame a company can cancel the orders when the price wasn't even a mistake. They wouldn't get away with it here.

From what I was told it was first come first two units per-person, though you see how that is worked out. After speaking with a Thrust Master rep about the matter I've come to find out they're not to pleased with the matter. I was told to go to a different retailer to find that same price. I told the person that wouldn't be possible.

No retailer will match the price @polarbear345, the only company that would have matched it would have been Best Buy. Though the sales person and manager you would be dealing with would have to see a sale add or a photo from within that store with a add or sign near on on the product with that sales date.

I wonder how much this will effect the people who bout all of those units knowing that people know how much they were bout for?

That's what they told me too. So I gave amazon a call... They wouldn't match it.

If anyone gets someone to match it.... LET US KNOW!

Just got a shipping confirmation a few minutes ago! So anyone with a routed order still, you are likely in the clear.

edit: This is not completely true, I think I was just lucky to get a shipment due to time/order number. There have been more cancellations it seems.

So i called microcenter and had a talk with customer service. I informed the rep that the money was charged out of my account so some type of answer would be needed if they were going to fulfill it or not. the rep informed me that they are talking with the manufacture to try and help fulfill the orders. I asked if it would be at the same price that was listed and paid for, he said he would have to call me back later this week. Hopefully they can get more product inand fulfill the cancelled orders that went through for the same price. I'll update everyone later this week.

This could be good news!

after my escalation through corp - i got a call back from a supervisor who also told me that they "were trying to do something" about this - I'm guessing enough of us made a stink... He mentioned that he likely would not be able to do all 3 that I ordered - but possibly one - I was polite and figured I'd play along for the one and then we'll raise hell again about the other 2 later....
BUT sounds like if you are willing to show your frustration - they may be trying to do the right thing....
I would just be strategic about things and know that your actions could have a huge impact on how we're all handled - so keep your 'negotiating' on the safe side...
you may not get all 15 you ordered - but possibly we may be able to get this deal if we placed an order.... we'll see how it plays out

you are correct on this sir. I was debating on whether they should just release the money on hold but he said they might get a new order so i'm holding out on it. if they come through i will be more then happy for their follow up on this deboggle

there is still a hold on my CC for 2 cancelled orders. It better come off soon. I dont even want one from them anymore im done with them. thats the 2nd worst missed opportunity on a internet deal thats ever happened to me

I wasnt going to allow myself to get screwed out of one of these so due to other methods Ive got one arriving at the house tomorrow!

I contacted Microcenter last week to ask why there was still a hold on my bank account. She assured me it would be taken off that day, and it was. She then asked me if I still wanted the product. I replied that I would only want the product at the price I ordered at. She told me that they contacted the manufactuer and they were trying to make a deal to get more of the product and I was placed on a list they just started where they were going to contact based on your place on the list if they get more in to honor the price. They said it would only be for one and I was placed second on the list. She was unsure if they would be shipped or if they had to be picked up. I called today and they are still trying to work out a deal. I was told that a Supervisor would be in contact me later today on the issue.

I'm calling now :P Will update with the response I get :)

I'm in the same boat. Both of my orders were cancelled, and the holds were taken off of my credit card (after four days, which is ridiculous).

I was told in an email from MC that I'm "on a list" and will be notified if they can obtain more at that price. I pressed for more details (How likely is that to happen? Will it for sure be the same price? Would they automatically renew my order, or will I just be given the option to place a whole new order? etc.). Not surprisingly, all of my questions were dodged in the reply that I got back, everything just blanketed with "it depends on our buyer's conversation with the manufacturer."

Honestly, I don't think it's going to happen. I would imagine they'd know by now if there was going to be another shipment to satisfy these orders. These vague, slippery answers ("You're on a list," "It all depends on the manufacturer"...) are just their way of trying to wiggle free from those of us with cancelled orders, without much fuss.

Edit:

Alright just got off.

Guy didn't know of a list, but said they planned on getting them back in stock at some point.

Exactly.

I will be checking their site pretty often... I think it's going to be like black Friday in there if they get these back in stock. Everyone will want theirs at 150 bucks.

I called the day of the cancellations. She told me the list was going to be limited first come first serve basis. I luckily was number three on the list. I doubt they will get more any time soon, but at least there is some hope.

I doubt it's going to happen. I've been on the phone with them (both online and store) and get dodgy replies or different/contradicting answers every time.

Just got off the phone with a supervisor and same run-a-round, except that when I asked why MC didn't limit purchases per customer for such a hot sale, she said they goofed up the price and they didn't expect people to buy that many at the intended sale price ($400).

If that's true, I highly doubt they will honor the $150 on future shipments. They probably lost quite a bit on these.
