I think it looks reasonable. The genesis isn't an originally styled car, but it has done well and looks good.

I don't care of the design, but the interior has something sweet that I like...

...

Wait a minute, I see a lot of Cadillac, Hyundai and Ford and everything in that interior. Great...

I don't think it's a rip-off of anything really. All modern cars look similar now.

agreed

etc.

👍 Was too lazy to provide all the pictures. I think most people here are a bit harsh. Even if the designs are influenced from other cars, give them a chance to prove what they actually can.

Oh bless - it's like it knows it's being sued. Poor little HTC.

The car's alright though. Bit anonymous, but alright. Not sure brown interiors are ready to come back yet, mind.

I love the way its popping out from behind the big centre console like some scared animal

I can see the HTC-ness in the units design, thats a good tie up to have for a start-up auto maker.

Not bad at all! It looks great to me. I just wonder what kind of crash ratings it delivers. Their other models don't look bad, either.

Yeah, I like their other models a lot. I'll take the one standing in front of the wheel in pic 2.

It looks alot like the newer Hyundais.

HTC Media system(9 inch TFT) is also linked with smart phones, and reached a 3G mobile Internet access that means Games, TV program, movies and Navigation go throught smartphone to HTC Car Media system display by Taiwan 9"TFT..

Taiwaner is different with Korean......

$22,000? That, is cheap. Although, it is from a brand nobody has heard of and we don't know much about handling, reliability, or fuel consumption...

fuel consumption: Avg. 13.5KM/L

You guys are grasping at straws to say that this looks like anything else.
Frankly, I'm impressed. Is it pretty? No. But it's the best Chinese car so far. Looks like it, anyway. How much is it?

Sorry,,,IT is Taiwaner, not Chinese.......

In Taiwan ,it has extra tax : 25% for car,,So total is around 22K us$

While these cars don't do much for me, I do love Taiwan, and wish Luxgen the very best. I just hate the name.

Not that their current models are targeted towards the U.S., but I hope they come up with some really cool models in the future, see some success on the Stateside. 👍

Some new pictures of the Luxgen 5 Sedan, along with some videos.

Also, while I also agree that the cars aren't all that good looking, but calling them "badly ripped off cars" is simply too harsh. Hey, Toyota started out with rip-off cars too (Eg. Toyota AA, which looked just like the DeSoto Airflow, or the Toyota 2000GT, which was technically the E-Type), and look where it is today! I think we have to give them a little time...hopefully they will be able to evolve into a larger and more influential auto company.

Also, all of the cars above have been designed by Atilla Tay, whom appears to be a college student at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, USA. My blog here also provides some sketches of the future models of Luxgens.

They still have a ways to go before they can make the car safe enough for US roads. Side impact performance looks disappointing, we don't know how fast the impacts were, and the windshield still broke during front impact. Looks like they're a decade off.

I agree with you there...apparently it was a 50 km/h crash test. I guess safety is one thing they really need to focus on right now...if they plan on going global.

On a side note though, it is better than this or this!

This, looks exactly like something peter would design for KIA as far as side profile it screams forte/optima. back end looks like a fiesta/rio both sedan variants, front looks like some type of opel, and the car looks like a car.

Safety is always a problem for startup companies in the automotive business, though i have to say, compared to other startup companies in the mainland this Taiwanese company know their stuff.

They should ask Asus to help them with the screen. Give it like a really cool and simple touchscreen interface that won't be laggy and slow 👍
