Luxgen has announced a new model for its line-up, the 2014 Luxgen U7 Turbo. It's technically an updated version of the Luxgen7 SUV launched back in 2010.

You can read more about it here.

Looks good on the outside, but the interior quality looks questionable. That dashboard looks really hard and cheap.

I have to agree with you Beeblebrox237. I much prefer the interior of the original Luxgen7 SUV.

The Luxgen5 Sedan's interior was quite nice too...not sure why they opted to use the new cheap looking touchscreen panel for this new model instead.

I do admit, however, that the start-up sequence is quite cool (as shown in the first video)

Looks like it's mirroring the design language Peugeot implemented in the 00s, especially at the front. Nicer looking that the current Peugeot SUV offering which is based on the already hard-featured Mitsubishi ASX.

Interior layout looks fairly clean and refined without much needless clutter. It's hard to tell if it would feel that way once you actually get inside though.

Not gonna lie... if the price was right, and it was as safe as competitors, I'd buy one. How do you write Peugeot in Chinese?

I'm still at a loss for why anyone considers PS3-style touchpanels a better idea than the buttons they take up just as much space as but which actually work worth a damn.

The 4008? I dunno, I quite like the look of that. Maybe you're thinking of the 3008, which isn't based on the ASX?

...which is a bit nasty on the outside, but has an interior far nicer than this Chinese thing:

There's a hint of Hyundai ix35 in it to my eyes too:

Incidentally, touch-sensitive buttons: Look cool, cock-awful to use.

Oh, no. I meant that I thought the U7 looked better aping Peugeot's previous vehicle style compared to the current Peugeot design for a similar, smallish SUV.

And I think both of those look miles better than the 3008 externally.

That I noticed as well.

It does look very Peugeot with a bit of Ford thrown in.

As for the touch controls, I swear most designers think we all live in warm countries! how are we going to operate this with gloves?!

Luxgen Motors has announced a new addition to its line-up, the long-awaited Luxgen U6 Turbo, to be debuted November 11th in Taipei, Taiwan. This is the "mystery crossover" that Autoblog spotted last year in Michigan.

And before people start complaining
, yes, it does have a hint of Peugeot and Ford in it, but at least they aren't copying the entire thing like the Mainland Chinese (PRC) companies do. I personally think it's not bad for a company that's only 4 years into the market...I mean, hey, when Toyota first started, they made cars that looked like DeSoto Airflows (and the 2000GT which looked like the E-Type), but look at them now! Give Luxgen some time, people...don't be so harsh.

Here are some more spy shots taken in Taiwan. More to come as it debuts on November 11th.
