Tajima E-Runner Pikes Peak Special Super Lap: Eiger Nordwand Short Track

One of the cars I'm looking into adding to my GT6 collection is the Tajima Monster E-RUNNER. Any confirmation needed in regards to its performance were confirmed with this Seasonal. What a fun to drive car! I don't think I've ever enjoyed racing a powerful 4WD rally-style car since the various runs in the Escudo Pikes Peak. Only this car is MUCH more civilized than the Escudo Pikes Peak. I managed to pull a 1:02.542 around Eiger Nordwand Short Track in a mostly casual run around the track. It has no problem getting up to speed. Also, don't let the fact that this is an EV car take away from wanting to race this thing. The E-RUNNER is a silent assassin. All you'll mostly hear is tire squeal. This is one unreal racing machine. It is a race car with performance that really sort of suits my driving style in GT.

I may try again later, but my best so far is 1:02.542.

This one brought up memories :banghead:

Remember GT5 grand tour ? Eiger Nordwand with the Alfa 8C Competizione ?
It is the only gold I still miss in GT5. Must have done that TT a thousand times but still coming short by 0,017" :boggled:

This one seems a lot easier since I got gold at the fifth lap.

1.00.999 :gtpflag:

Don't really like the car, so I'm going to leave it as it is...

May have to put the GT5 disc in again ... who knows ...

You were at the good side of the 1/1000 difference to gold then. I wasn't:

Luckily, one lap later I drove a 1.00.2ish...

GT6 replays aren't region specific, like they used to be in GT5. I wouldn't mind you posting it! Thanks!

Thanks a lot, that should help!
Just went on to copy it on to a USB stick and realised I hadn't saved it. :banghead:

Sorry. :guilty:

Nevermind, just improved my time to a 1:00.621, so here's the replay for that. Hope I've uploaded it right, just doing it from how I remember doing it in WRS.

EDIT: I should probably just say that (if it still works like GT5) download this .zip file, extract the file into you computer then copy the "PS3" folder to your USB, whack it in your PS3 and then import it. 👍

After running a 1:01.4xx I gave up and used SRF to get a 0:59.9xx. The understeer around the hairpins killed me :banghead: Serious respect to everyone who golded this without SRF, especially on a wheel

one thing I used which strikes me as a reasonable driver adjustment; I tightened up the steering lock to lock - a lot. Really helped reeling in the corners. ... on the other hand, the exaggerated sensitivity coming down off launch was always an interesting experiment in kinetics.

Used SRF, and got 1:00.361
It was fun!
The key to turn this monster around is just brake very hard until it's almost full stop, turn, then blast off :D

Just managed it after hours of trying. Had to turn SRF on, no other aids. Managed to do it by trail braking into corners to get the back to slide out, so I could get the car to rotate. Hard work, but good fun.

I just ran 15 laps straight and couldn't get gold.:grumpy: My time was 1:01.964. I try tapping the handbrake a little like you guys said but couldn't get any better than that.

Hey i just got silver for 1:01. something any tips, please?

I'm far from even a 'good' driver here but what worked for me was brake release oversteer in all the tight bends (even worked in that annoying right hander after the bridge). I'd trailbrake into the bend but keep a little more speed than needed then do pulses on the brakes to help rotate. Hopefully this helps some.

DS3 and no aids used.

For the first time I turned to the darkside and chuck SRF on, first lap in I got a low 59. Spent ages trying without SRF to get a gold, tried handbrake etc which as we all know is a load of rubbish. Got within 1 second after 20mins of swearing and gave up and chucked SRF on.
First time I've ever run SRF it felt like you could run the most unrealistic line and still make it round the corner... Well done to all that golded without Stupid Realism Fail.

Lol seriously, this is the point where GT sucks really. I was driving with all driving aids off (except ABS) and got hardly gold. Was wondering why I am so bad in comparison with the online records. And then I took a look and see that everybody is using driving aids (SRF?)! WTF cmon how can PD reward people using driving aids with better lap times? Thats 🤬... They should disable it...

You are a lucky one ... I got stuck at 1:01,549, so never gold it. :banghead:

I know you from GTHQ (NL)
Greetings from SkyHawk.
:)

If it is any consolation, I ended up on .23x off gold, refusing to put on SRF.

Thanks for your kind words, maybe we'll meet online again sometime:cheers:
