The car started life as a 1975 JT Junior 1600, and was built by an aircraft engineer. Basic spec:

-6 speed gearbox from Honda S2000.
-Rear subframe from Mazda Mx5 with torsen diff, 4.77 ratio.
-Completely rebuilt chassis with individual suspension and custom tubular wishbones both in front and rear, fully adjustable.
-Coilovers and adjustable roll bars both in front and rear.
-Brembo brakes with floating discs front and rear.
-Steering rack from Escort Mk1, new manufactured with higher ratio.
-2 sets of 17x9 rims with 240/610-17 slicks and 235/40-17 semi-slicks, 1 set of 16x7 with 210/610-16 wets.
-Flat floor with splitter and diffuser from a Radical.
-APR carbon rear wing.
-Tilton floor mounted pedals with adjustable brake bias.
-AIM MYCHRON XG Log Dash.
-GP-Race R7 seat and Sabelt 6-point harness (Both new 2018)
-FIA homologated Chromoly roll cage.

Currently being made road legal

I do love the SEC. A fixed roof SL with that kind of window design should be in the next generation.

To be fair, it would be difficult to remain tasteful if modifications go beyond lowering and smart wheels.

It's the import thread that has often seemed redundant to me, especially as it covers cars officially imported to the US market and not simply obscure cars never offered there.

That’s what the import thread is for IMO... the ‘stanced’ and ‘smoothed’ stuff.

This thread should be for thebproperky modified stuff. Where some real engineering has gone in to the build.

Where is the real engineering in slapping on some suspension bits and wheels?
This is becoming the 'lowered with different wheels' thread. Maybe it always has been?
I agree full heartedly. I havent seen very much actual modifications.
Here, I'll share a good example of proper tasteful mods.

This debate again? What makes a car "tastefully modified"? Any modifications that look good in one's own opinion. It could be as simple as different wheels or a color change, or it could be something much more heavily modified.

Is it cheating to post my own mod?

So, black OE wheels from a limited edition model, a facelift painted bumper, a splitter from a Seat Leon Cupra R, and removed side strips.

Ew. Wheels are too big and ride height too low for me.
