Tasteful Modifications Thread

Hmmm and I wonder how racecars are made...

Oh yeah thats right, by modifying road cars!

I'm literally building a 240SV N/A 2JZ racing machine with my mate right now and will be finished and ready to race at January or March, and what was it when we bought it? Oh yeah, thats right, it was a stock street car road going up for sale at 1.5K.

Um, and your point is?

Of course a race car is built out of a road car. What else would it be? A pencil sharpener?

Confused as to where you are going with this.

Paint and fiberglass are expensive. I'm just saying why a lot of cars don't look the greatest. It's not that they don't care.

Then I think you're completely missing what a drift missile is. The idea is to not care at all. You drift them to test limits both car and skill. Then have a primary to do the real drifting in.

I need to post a car too.

Perfect AW11, makes me want one.

It's as if you were emplying before that racecars don't belong to this thread even though they are modified as hell.

Want some tasteful racecars? You got it!

@Team THRT Drift wow what Audi is that? Looks beautiful! Reminds me of an Isuzu I forgot the name of, it's a coupe though.

The top two cars are the Audi 100. The bottom one is the Audi 50, which was later (6 months after conception) rebadged as a VW Polo. Although the 50 kept on going for another three years.

Also which of these lights would you choose for this NSX?

Um... the full square looking one.

Drift missiles tend to be cars that can't drive on the road anyway, cars that have been written off and can't be put back on the road. Not sure how damaged beyond repair drift cars are tasteful, but okay.

I was implying that, yes. I'm not sure what being 'modified as hell' has to do with anything, because last time I checked this was a thread to showcase cars that look good, not have the most modifications. :boggled:

And I see no tastefulness there, either, other than the TRD livery. I do see purposeful modifications, though.

It's not really stupid. It's relating to the topic, and it's trying to rid this thread of purposeful race cars.

And so what? That's just your opinion, it's not as if your opinion sets the rules for every others person and the thread now does it? Same goes with everyone else's opinion and mine.

Nobody can say that these racing cars are not tasteful though:

Oh and look here is one of the most iconic racing cars, the race MODIFIED Calsonic R32!

Well I'm still staying on topic, that R32 was modified by Nismo & the Calsonic racing team right from a road car fresh from Nissan's factory production line to race in Group-A and JGTC and the lot.

I'll quit bit**ing now, and I think you should quit it too.

Okay, so all of the modifications on those very cars were chosen because they look the best, then? Or because they worked the best/made the car faster?

It's the latter, right? So... does that make the modifications tasteful, or purposeful?

It looks different depending on each event.

It runs in drag races, track events, just about everything.

I agree that there is no way to be one set of rules for this place, and that's no problem. Destroyed aesthetics just is hardly considered tasteful to a lot of people.

I just think tastefulness comes as an all around package, not just performance wise.

I continued on because I was trying to have a discussion with you. It seems as if you do not want your opinion questioned, so I give up, really.

Yeah, I've been in love with that Camaro ever since I read about it in a magazine. Love how it does just about everything.

Not what I would do to a 69 Z/28 if I owned one, but definitely very tasteful.
