I feel like I could be alone on this, but I quite like how early LS430 wheels look on LS400s:

Kind of related (and off-topic), but I did put Lexus SC400 wheels on an LS400 once.
 
I don't know if I'd call that a tasteful modification, though as I think the wheels could pass for either generation off the showroom as standard. Just my 2 cents since the styling differences weren't crazy different.
If it's not original, it's a modification.

That's kind of how I look at it. Until you start tearing into an enjoy I don't really consider things like headers/exhaust or an aftermarket carburetor to be "real" mods, more like a necessity.
 
Its a little over the top, but I've always liked it. Not sure its tasteful though, although that color is beautiful.

Grey is an odd color for the riveted fenders, but I still think it looks nice. Would prefer color matched, or at the least, black. Sits nice, not to low.
