TCV5 HURRY THE HELL UP thread

I thought I would give you an update.

I've driven all the supercar tunes, have my notes made, and I am now in the process of writing everything up.

I have three of the cars completely written up and I am working on all the rest.

I hope to have this done by the end of the weekend, or Monday at the latest.

I just wanted you to know I hadn't bailed out on you.

Go Too Old go!!!!!!!!!! :cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers:

I know SUPERCAR results aren't up yet, but I'm toasting in advacne!:D:dopey: I mean advance. :dunce:

Well its posted and I don't even know who got the best score. I think I am done judging anything for a while. (Could be I'll never be asked again!!)

If I hurt anyone's feelings I'm sorry, I did my best.

Yes. Very bad.

Lol.

Don't worry about it. People wanna hear the truth. That's what we've all been waiting for since August. :ouch:

I would :sly: love it if you did LIghtweight and Middleweight. I realize there's more cars, especially in Middle, so no rush.

Too Old seems to be a very harsh critic if you ask me. And by the way, what does "F5-slapping" mean?

F5 causes a refresh of the page you are viewing.

Thanks go to Too Old, glad you liked the Vanquish:tup: Really enjoyed this tuner challenge, the reviews have given me good ideas of how to improve my tunes:)

Thanks to Too Old for getting this done.

However, no useable lift off oversteer in my Subaru? For me and apparently Parnelli it likes to knock the tail out quite a lot both under braking and off throttle if you want it to. I reckon if I had listed the oil change it would've done slightly better as the WPR would've been dead on at 2.785 and it'd have been more hoonable in slower corners (with the extra power that the car was designed with it you can take pretty much every 2nd gear corner completely sideways if you wish). Also, you're quicker in the battle monster by about .5 versus my own driving yet slower to the tune of 2 seconds in the Subaru. :odd:

Could be that you're using the brakes to slow it down enough to go WOT through exit which is far from the way to drive it. Brake, turn in under braking, coast, nail it when you know you can aim it for the edge of the track on exit.

Thanks Too Old for judging. 👍 Glad you liked my Jag, too. Got the high score for this round. 👍

The weakish brakes are a result of my driving style, I'm an early braker and go slow in fast out.

Thank you so very much Too Old!

I'm glad we've managed to fill in the judging gap with what seems to be a clone of PB :D. Just kidding!

Once again thank you so much for finishing the task others have dropped.

So on to more pressing news... Are we completely done with TCV5? Can we now move on to TCV6?????

We still need Mafs to do his bit and macca ran away again.

 Yea. I could see being done once Mafs gets Lightweight, Middleweight, and Supercar up. We'd have 3 judges per each category by then. I would prefer 4 per category, but we're grasping at straws here.

I woulda docked a point if I had allowed that oil change, though. As it is, the STi-511 was just about to get wheelspin with the power sans oil. OIl would have pushed it over the limit, the car would get squirrely, and I personally woulda docked for that.

The squirellyness was kinda designed into it though; if points had been docked for it I'd have been fine with it. Didn't enter that thing to win class, just to show that I could do something with iron diffs and not a Spec C.

Hey, no prob. From what I remember I had a blast driving it and stuff. 👍

Rotary Junkie,

Sorry I haven't replied, I've been sick and haven't even looked at the computer. You are exactly right about the liftoff oversteer. It is present and I should have mentioned it.
However, if you look at my post and I said the car was "frustrating", that is what I was talking about. I am somewhat impatient and the back end rotates so slowly I always felt as if I was in slow motion, I would get on the gas too early and promptly drive into the dirt.
This morning, after reading your concerns, I went back and drove your car again, and lowered my time by another second. I have saved the time and now I need to know if I should repair the post, or what was posted stands?
I will do whatever MAFS says is right. I will send him a PM

I haven't had a chance to get near a PC to talk so I haven't been able to say anything.

I've judged RJ's car (I just have to do write-up of Supercar) and his car doesn't have a lift-off oversteer but it does have a on-power oversteer. You hit the boost at the right spot and you're trying to keep yourself from being crossed up.

I've read that the time was improved by a second. If Too Old thinks that he has made a mistake then he's more than allowed to have a re-test of the cars in concern to make sure that the scoring is 100%. 👍

Thanks Too Old for putting up with me hassling you like this. :P

Looking forward to the updated look (unless it's done already *checks*).

OK everyone, the update is now posted. Several of the competitors actually gained a point because of the scoring change. The Subaru lost some of its acceleration points because of a much higher corner speed cutting down on the total increase in acceleration. (Does that make sense?)

Anyway it is done
