TCV5 HURRY THE HELL UP thread

I was going to say that, but bit my forum tongue...

Just remember this for the snow portions of the S license. Just get thru the turns with minimal sliding. YOu don't need to do these tests stoopid-fast. I managed gold on my first try for both with what I'd consider semi-sloppy driving.

It's been 15 days now, this is well out of character. I've deleted the PM with his contact details, so will have to look through my phone bills to get his mum's number. I'll try and do that tomorrow just to confirm he's okay.

He's fine. Talked to him on MSN a few nights ago, a few things came up and he's not had time to do much.

I'm outta here for a week or two. My 3-day old son has *can't remember the name*, which means his trachea is not connected to something else important. He's just been flown by heli for an operation in Newcastle (NSW) and we'll follow in a few hours from now. Keep it cool kids, and I'll see you in two weeks.

Hope he is okay mate, we are all here for you. My regards to your family.

....wondering which will come first....

Official release of GT5?

Or a judging round of TCV5? lol

It's funny. Back in the summer, I spent a good portion inside trying to hammer up the TCV5, fearing someone would finish up before me! I thought we'd all be discussing TCV6 by now! 💡

Ah well......

I'd say yes to power classes but look at it more realistically, so make it 300hp, 400hp, 500hp and unlimited classes (for the 800hp monsters we build up). The hp limited series are restricted to S3's at best, the unlimited can get R2/R3's.

Dedicated judging is good, but those judges would have to forsake being a competitor for that section of the competition, something we've worked out is easier said than done.

That sounds like a good idea. But with that why dont make it drivetrain classes aswell so its more even

I know i'm dreaming about TCV6 :S

+1 I as well. For the last couple TCs I was away in college but now i'm back home and anticipating the next.
I still need to pick up a PS2 though because my last one has a broken power switch :grumpy:

a) You are more than several months late.
b) Because it was based more on PTW to even the playing field and from the times that were put down, I was right on the money.
c) Because the TC's are all about making the perfect package, regardless of drivetrain.

As for others wishing about TCv6....go do TGC for the time being, I'm playing catch-up with TCv5 judging. 👍

Glad you're back, man. :)

Okay, I have an idea that I may get lightly flamed for but..I'll see what everyone thinks. :scared:

Is anyone ELSE at all interested in finishing this contest up???
 Seriously, I know peeps get busy, but it seems the other three judges have simply dropped the ball. They coulda done a car a day (or even a car a week at this point) and we'd have some winners by now.

Maybe TCV5 is simply dead in the water, and if nobody else cares, I'll let it go for good (promise). But it was such a good contest, I think it deserves a second go. Certainly, if I had entered a car in TCV5, I would care. I would want to see some results by now.

Here's what I'm thinking. Let's have some new judges. These new judges would have to start from scratch, driving all cars in all divisions (light, middle, heavy and super). mafs has assured me privately that he hasn't forgotten about TCV5, and wants to finish it up, so let's have at leats a couple other new judges. It's the new year (in Western society anyways), it's ridiculous TCV5 never got wrapped up.

I'll open the floor for other's opinions. :nervous:

I most definitely care and I agree about the other judges having gone off and died... Mafs has reasonably legitimate reasons but mcsqueegy and in.s@ne seem to be avoiding the subject rather completely. Well, actually, Macca gave a reasonable explanation (that never happened, he said a week and it's going on 2 months) but not in.s@ne.

Cool! Would you wanna do it, RJ? Would anyone else want RJ to do it?

I was actually thinking you'd be perfect cuz I remember you had quite a passion for the entire contest back in the summer. I mean, it ain't up to me, it's up to mafs and maybe someone else. But I just wanna see it get done. :dopey: Maybe if others show interest, perhaps it'll inspire the contest to move forward again?!?

In my opinion:

- This should be considered finished (I doubt we will find the necessary amount of people to carry on with this). Not only do they have to finish what the rest didn't, but start from scratch again. It is easier to find people for a new challenge.
- A new thread should be made for a new challenge.

My opinion.

Hmmm.....I'm cool with it since the other two haven't said squat about what's going on and repeated questions had been asked in the past.

However, I will say that it has been a constant struggle FOR ME to get on top of things, I get into it....I don't get into it, I get into it, I don't get into it. It's like I restart each time I get into it because I get myself back up to speed and that's the annoying thing at the moment for me. That's kind of why I was looking for a hired gun to drive for GME in the TGC because I doubt I will have the time to do that properly after releasing the cars.

I don't do things in dribs and drabs when I judge either, I do batches and whenever I do, I have people (like my 4yr old) constantly annoying me which prevents me from focusing fully onto the cars and usually winds up with a controller somewhere between the lounge and the next rooms wall. :embarrassed::ouch:

Also, the amount of driving at Motegi East I've done to get myself back up to speed HAS affected me at other tracks like GVS, so the frustration grows and grows and grows. It's disheartening, but it will never force me to quit.

Rest assured, I have my side almost wrapped up and you'll get ALL 3 categories that I have been judging (Light, Middle, Super) in the next couple of weeks. Each time I drive it's like restarting from scratch and I'm getting various results with times and feelings of cars....I think I've driven Roj's M3 Supercar entry atleast 9 different times now.

It will take my a little while (any tune design specifically for Capri would be nice) to raise the funds and although I'm going to regret this later I will reluctantly offer to judge TCv5.

Forget TCV6 for now. What's hte point if TCV5 isn't finished up yet?

But it's looking like we'll have some results from mafia boy. CAmry Fan is showing interest in being a judge, so all we need is one more judge.
