Team XENON | Est. 2007 (FM)

man I am having trouble still getting a feel for drifting. a lot more throttle control necessary compared to forza, and harder to transition and catch the car. I need to practice more but I really like the racing and its sidetracking me. Soon.

need to get out and grind with a near-stock S13 or something and just learn, maybe tweak my wheel settings a bit.
Most likely, it seems you have a unbalanced setup regarding suspension. Try messing with your spring rates and corresponding parts.

@JDM SRE70 - Thanks man, I think I at least have my spring rates and dampers dialed in mostly ok, I have been using an FM4 tuning calculator to get those set, they feel really awesome when racing with stickier tires. My last couple drift practice sessions I had been playing with alignment and differential settings and those seem to be making a big difference, as far as making the car more calm when changing my inputs or in a transition. Still I think its just a matter of practice, practice, practice. I can drift pretty decent on a DS3, the wheel is much more difficult.

Hey I know a lot (or all?) of you Team Xenon guys came over from Forza. If you remember Built not Bought or the subsequent Made not Manufactured grassroots forza communities, we have set up a forum to start something like that for Gran Turismo.

If that sounds like something that would interest you there is a link in my sig to the Forum, hopefully the Guide To GrassTurismo section of the forum can answer any of your questions.

If you have any other questions about it post it on our forum or send me a private conversation here on GTP. Minty was kind enough to let me promote the forum in your thread so I'd like to keep your team thread clean.

Thanks!

Hey Van, Not too sure that's compliant with the GTPlanet AUP. You should probably check, if you can promote another forum.

First thing I did was check with the Mods/Admins. I am not allowed to post a new thread promoting the offsite forum for the league or club, etc.. Only leagues or clubs hosted on GTP are allowed to have their own thread. I am however allowed to make posts in existing threads, with permission from the owner of the thread, and have a link in my signature.

It sucks because now every time I post about it I am making reasonably offtopic posts of the same subject in multiple threads. Im basically spamming with permission. Kind of ironic, right? Instead of 1 dedicated thread.... But the rules say its the only way I am allowed posts about GrassTurismo.

I really hate being "that guy" and I am not trying to post in every last thread on GTP about it, only select threads where I think there might be some interest.

It's no problem on our end fella, we're a very off topic group of lads

I'll check the site out in a few and see what's what 👍

GT6 sucks, no matter how much i try on it i just cant get anything feeling decent apart from a 270hp sc300...makes me want to cry and live on GT5 forever :grumpy:

You have to adapt your driving style, try to rethink your style and implement into GT6. With some great practice everything will be fine.

I know what you mean Baggins I was playing gt6 earlier and I just got so annoyed with it I ended up going on gt5 and playing that for a few hours

Bitches!!

I saw that too! Switched to CH immediately afterwards. Kinda weird that there is only one tire to be used for all cars/power ranges

Ah ok, that's good then. I thought that too, but when messing around with other compounds I did notice an unpredictability with them, especially softs.

That's where the problem with simplistic tuning options lays.

We pretty much get 3 tire choices, if the h/m/s tires are just different tire pressures.

I wish tuning would go much further in-depth but Kaz is right in thinking it will shy away the "casuals".

I don't think it will, just have 2 tuning screens. By default it would go into a watered down selection, with the option to press a button for more advanced tuning. Can't be too difficult surely?

Funny enough I just built an IS-F before I jumped off, what sort of power you pushing? Will have to get a dori in, see how it compares 👍
