Yes. The ADS absolutely sucked. It's just stupid. Damn ads. Stupid channel ten.

And uh, Skaifey would've won if the other teams didn't whine about the door, it wasn't even swinging really far out.
I think my signature sums up my feelings...

Forgot to talk about this as well:

How crazy was that pile up before the S curves!!! 4 cars just totally blocked the road...absolutely crazy stuff, they're heading down there at about 200km/h and just banging into the cars already stuck across the whole track.

skaife didnt deserve that, and neither did we deserve all them damn ads

No way! Yes he deserved it purely because in the past, all the cars that have had doors flapping around copped one too....

David Besnard (spelling?) I think it was copped one a couple of rounds back. Its harsh I know, especially at bathurst but I guess rules are rules.....

Anyway, I'm glad HRT werent on the podium......
And poor John Bowe who got shunted off at turn one :(

Yes. And the only car who was really unable to go on was the 18 Dick Johnson Racing car - Max Wilson. Bargwanna could have backed out, and the rest could have found their way through without having to block the entire road. :irked:

Nah Skaife didn't deserve that. I can tell you exactly why he didn't win the race.

If the stewards had brought Skaife in as soon as his door started opening, he would have caught back up by the end of the race. So the stewards waited until there was no chance of him catching up and winning until pulling him in. Did you happen to notice, perchance, that the stewards gave Skaife the black flag THE VERY NEXT LAP AFTER THE SAFETY CAR WENT IN? They couldn't have him so close to Murph and in a possible position to win the race 3 times in a row, now could they? And the door wasn't even a danger to anyone!

As for Bowe, good on him. Sure enough it was Bowe's corner, but that's what you get for coming down on another car.

if there is anyone team that deserves a bathurst win its the oxemail team. 3 years now they have run up the front at bathurst and they just cont pull it off

lol...Interesting theory you have there. Let me guess, your a skaife fan. The reason why they called him in when they did was because FPR protested. The stewards were gonna 'monitor the situation' which was what they said at the time which basically ment they were gonna let it go. At this stage, really HRT should have came in before the door came off...
But anyway, FPR complained because they were delt a drive through for a similar situation and hence, the stewards being the inconsistant clowns they are caved in to FPR's complaint and hence, the drive through.....

Thats my impression anyway...

As for Bowe, Huge fan and all (Ozemail team are one of my facourites) but Steve hit him square in the B piller. Bowe shouldnt have leaft soo much room.

But how about that move Jim pulled on his son! Wouldnt like to be in that car for the trip home :P

Loose panels, etc. always have the risk of becoming dangerous very quickly. You really don't want someone in the crowd to be hit by flying metal, it's not good publicity. If you listened to Skaife's radio, he was originally going to come in during the saftey car period, but he was told to stay out until he was forced to come in.
They took a risk that didn't pay off. It happens, get over it.

Nope, even though Ford have a really nice DOHC 5.4 litre v8, they still use the push rod 5 litres, IIRC. due to regulations.

Ahh, but that door was secured to the car quite nicely by the hinges, yes? Now perhaps if the door had swung open further more frequently (as with Besnard) that would have been a cause for concern...

...unfortunately rules are rules, Colin Bond is a wanker, if Skaife (rightly so) was to be penalised it shouldve happened right there and then, NOT 40 minutes later and right after a safety car period

Talking about Daft Overtaking moves, Tander (wanker) on Brad Jones on lap 3 at the Elbow, absolutely stupid IMO, 161 lap race and make a move like that on lap 3? D!ckhead

Bargs. shouldve backed out of the pass he was attempting but didnt, as for Jason Bright slamming into the side of the GRM car, coulndnt have happened to a nicer sheep

Good Point Glut, that would have major implications. imagine coming down conrod, about to enter the chase and your door flys off. bad baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad

The only thing stopping the door from flying open was the air intake inserted into the window.

The decision to stop the car to have the damage repaired was correct - the real issue is:
- why it took so long to call the car in
- why the car wasn't called in during the safety car period.

You can't have touring cars running around with doors flapping open - that's very dangerous. An already open door can be hit by another car and dislodged, and at high speeds could end up anywhere - including into other cars, or worse still grandstands or crowded pitlanes.

"Tander" n. Impatient ****head. Mostly seen trying to force overtaking moves when they're not there.

"Bargwanna" - v. Incompetent. Mostly seen spinning out in front if dual HRT Bathurst winners who are on their way to win 3 in a row. Sometimes called "Lead-foot", especially when on top of a mountain in close range to a yellow Falcon.

As for Skaife, I can tell you EXACTLY why they DIDN'T bring him in as soon as his door opened. It's because he would have caught up again before the end of the race. So the stewards deliberately waited until there wsa no chance of him catching up before the end of the race to bring him in.

I'm going to blame Jeff Grech for this one - he told Skaife to stay out until he was forced to come in.

1st point: Skaife was nowhere near any other car in the time that his door was flapping, so it's logical to think that he wouldn't be hit by another car and thus dislodging the door.

2nd point: Einstein's law of relativity says that there are an infinite number of places that that door could have ended up - most likely the pressure on the door, and the force of gravity would combine to push the door towards the ground.

Point 1
There was a safety car period - I'd suggest Skaife was probably immediately in the vicinity of other cars right about then.

Point 2
You want to stand in front of the Coroner and tell him that after the door flies into the crowd? A major part of the role of motorsport administrators is ensuring a race track remains a controlled environment. Leaving something like the fate of a flapping door in the lap of the gods is not something that should ever be tolerated. As mentioned earlier, I'm astounded it went on for as long as it did before he was called in - really, he should have been called as soon as it was apparent the door was loose.

Well, I'm going by the logical explanation - the door wouldn't have been a problem had he come in during the safety car. Blasted Jeff Grech. :grumpy:

Once again, Skaife would have caught up had he come in when it was first apparent that the door was flapping.

I find it hard to believe Skaife would have caught Murph - The KMart car was simply amazing all weekend.

Well that's definitely a fair call, but Skaife has the ability to catch up to almost anyone when the situation calls for it.

Well he certainly could have done with more enthusiasm like that this season :P

I'd say Ambrose would have to take the cake for the ability to catch up. How about that round up at Queensland where he got a stop-go and was driving like a man possessed.....

i totally 100% agree. and if skaife caught murph, he would have to pass him then. passign murph aint no easy task

Well when you think about it, if someone like even David Thexton was that dedicated, he could've caught up the same. Okay, maybe not Thexton, but you get the idea...

good old thexton. you gotta love him.

what happened to him though, he came out for qualifying for the indy race, but he didnt race. did thexton not qualify or something?

Dont know  but you went to the Indy 300 didnt you?

And Just to stick it up Jon Boy.... GO RUSTY :D

and while Im here, the Champ car guys are a bunch of sheep, couldnt drive on a full wet, or semi wet track without bring out a full course yellow:mischievous:

yeah i was there. there was no way those champcar could drive in those conditions.

there were ponds of water all over the track, concrete walls all over. and HAIL. no matter what tyres they had on they had no chance of running a decent race

fair call, just though it was funny that a couple of the Champ car guys where slagging of F1 before the race, and after the restart barely any of 'em kept it on the track
