This game starts getting annoying...

got after the first corner up the hill in nations cup a 8,8 sec penalty for avoiding a crash.. because the guy infront of me had to lift and i had to go wide..i didnt hit something nothing..i only got because of the trying to stay on track over the gras up the hill ...thx ...race destroyed...u get by cutting the S-shicane 6 sec..and for that 8 sec..that penalties are redicilous...and thats the second championship..no patch..that is a dissgrace...

It was this moment when you looked really forward into this testseason because of being an A rank right from the start but PD decided to ruin my mood... (with putting a lot of D drivers into our lby...)

I finished 15th with a pace similar to yours against some aliens and fast guys.
Lap times during the race were bad, there was too much fighting going on. Half of the field got taken out in the first corner, but that's another story. Additionally, a few players gave up and started to dive bomb at the hairpin. Wasn't a great race.

during training for manufactor championship i got now 4 times disconnected... but ps network and my internet works without any problem..looks like a null point run today for me..and in both races i got robbed by PD...

Comparing race lap times doesn’t make sense... You’re right.

They must have known that this kind of event leads to massive crashes early in the race. Some drivers are way too optimistic and make crazy moves thinking their brakes are going to stop them in time.

Points wise I had my best FIA race in today's nation's race.
I was rated B/S over the last weeks, almost reaching driver rating A. In today's race I got in a lobby with like 17 A/S drivers and 2 other B/S drivers. Qualified on 2nd. Stayed close with 1st over the first laps and then gradually lost a tenth or so per lap on him. The gap behind me got bigger over time (I guess they were fighting for positions and losing time). Ended up finishing 2nd and finally got the A rating. Maybe the race wasn't spectacular, but I was really impressed by myself for not making a mistake and being fast enough as well. Got 1467 or so points for it. Good start, but I'm not gonna do today's manufacturer's race, too tired

Tonight for the first time I drove without practicing before the race and it's the last time. I probably ruined the race for 2-3 people because my brake points were completely off.

Nah they just use you for some extra braking power !

Yeah, I've had similar experiences. Never had a race without any practice, but usually did 20 minutes max practice. While it may be enough to have decent results, I usually had done lap times in the last laps of the race which were significantly faster than my qualifying laps.

Nations Cup was decent, despite a careless British driver. Me and Phantom had a good battle but the guy was very aggressive and we couldn't pass him or let him behind. Started 7th finished 7th or 6th (can't remember). DR progress bar didn't even move though... First time this happens to me on a FIA race (all A/S in the lobby).

___

Manufacturers, qualified 7th and was doing great until lap 4 (was 5th by then behind derek and devilsoul). Was having a great fight with @Lord Protector. Got the left rear wheel slighly on the grass, impossible to recover. Let everyone pass except the last guy. In 1 lap managed to recover 3 places and was back in 14th when in lap 5 I got disconnected.

What pisses me off is not that I got 0 points. It's the DR progress that just got wiped out (again). It's freaking frustrating to get this harsh DR penalties when you have not even completed the race! The system should know I never quit a race even if I finish last and avoid this DR punishment. Now I need to win or race another 10 races just to get to the same DR progress I was just before disconnected.

It's just stupid. I know this is suppose to punish those who rage quite but hell... it's so annoying. I'd say it's worse than getting bumped off track because in that situation I can recover some of the damage. But this? Nope. Disconnected = DR progress wiped out.

I know it's probably the 10th time I mention this DR progress wipe outs. Am I the only one who dislike it? I mean, if I had finished the race in last and had had a really poor performance, that's OK (even though I keep saying the impact is too harsh). But not even having the chance to finish the race and seeing the progress disappear is really annoying. I hope PD reviews this punishment.

ps: first time I ever got disconnected. Have no idea what happened.

The only thing that I can come up with when a penalty is received for an off track excursion that does not include course cutting which would result in an advantage within the race is either they feel that an incurred penalty for off track will result in drivers slowing down and driving more within their skills to prevent accruing the penalty.

Or their programming for the penalty phase is not detailed and involved to a high enough level to differentiate off track incidents that provide a racing advantage to those which do not and are just the result of a miscalculating of judgement.

I do not have a problem with the game assigning a penalty for cutting corners and chicanes as the driver by running a race pace that requires to push the limits of the track boundaries willingly are taking the risk for a slight miscalculating of the cars trajectory resulting in receiving the penalty.

I also would like to see all penalties accrued to be assessed post race and the practice of scrubbing off penalties in race eliminated. This way a penalty for contact with another car or even cutting corners will have an affect on the drivers final race results.

Then a driver will not be able to commit a penalty early race by driving aggressively and making contact or pushing the limits by a hot lapping driving style and knowing they have the entire race to negate the penalty to affecting them at a time and place during the race which best suites them.

Seems to be a glitch. Had the same last session in Sao Paulo, Joint a Lobby full aof D + E (Was A/S). Thought my SR was down to A maybe, but it was not.... seems to be a bug!

hey mate, i got today the first time 4 times disconnect after joining the manufacture race ...thx god it was during the training.. but at the end the race was so bad...lagging and so on..that i got a 10 sec penalty because someone hit me in my rear ...

First race for subaru tonight. Qualified second, race started well, everyone clean. I broke too late at Spoon on the first lap and went wide dropping me from 2nd to 8th.
A very good and clean race followed and I managed to get my ass back to 2nd and finished less than a second back on the leader! Most enjoyable.

Maybe it was because I entered an early race so there were more kids? I qualified mid grid in my Nations cup race behind seriously about 10 VW VGTs. Race starts, I get to third or fourth corner and get rammed onto the grass. Recover cleanly, back up to speed, almost at the end of lap 1 and I get taken out again - no attempt to pass, just a straight ram into the wall. So, balls to the DR and the SR, I've totally lost interest and have better things to do than be fodder for stupid kids, quit the race, big fat zero for me.

Manufacturers cup, this time hopefully after kids' bedtimes. Qualified the Aston mid grid. Race lap one just filtering around that right hander with the big gravel trap, French guy in a BMW comes spearing off the gravel back onto the track in front of me, fishtailing around. I try to avoid him, but make contact and get a 10 second penalty. Carry on and finish maybe 8th or 9th after racing with a decent group. I watched the reply back after and on the run up to that corner Monseur BMW had made hard contact with 3 or 4 other cars trying to force his way though, and yet I got the penalty! There should be some kind of filter whereby if you have made hard contact a few times already in a lap, then somebody being unable to avoid you and your crap driving should be immune to getting a penalty.

Need. More. Offline. Content.

Does anyone know how the points works? Last week in one race I started in 11th and finished 5th with 313 points in the manufacturers race and around 230 finishing 2nd with a 6 second gap in another race, today on Suzuka I started and finished 2nd 242 points with a 2 second gap and there has been other times I've finished lower than 5th and still got 189 points. What's going on?

Edit: because as it stands a person could win once by a fluke with over a 1000 points and bomb out all other races but a person who is consistently placing 2nd finishing all races might end up with only 750 points.

last night had 2 great races, for the Nations race drove the Mustang, really good battle from 5th starting to running 2nd most of the race, the guy who qualified 1st made a big error on the first lap and dropped a fair few places but he fought back well to 1st by the end, the guy who ran first most of the race tried to run him off the road, went wide and I went from 3rd to 2nd and finished ... KARMA!

Manufacturers I really enjoyed Suzuka, ran the Audi TT, solid race, started 8th made it up to 5th by the end.

Had a lot more fun this week than last haha

I trained yesterday on Suzuka prior to the Manufacturer race, and a few minutes before i had to end, i realized that relying on braking cones along the track wasn't really smart since their lifespan can be short in an online race. I then changed this into the options, but that didn't removed the cones, and i keep training with them (without making a lap to shoot them like i did once before). During the FIA race, i was first after three laps and fast enough to keep safe if able to stay focus. But what should happen happened: someone wipe the breaking-point-cones before the chicane. I had to break randomly, either too soon and losing time, or to late and leaving the track and have a penalty. I finished 3rd.

Speaking about cones, many off them ended on the racing line during the qualification, and one ruined my best lap.

I used to do the same thing when I first played the game, the best way i found to help me learn the track was to play circuit experience in the campaign and watch the videos which guides through each corner, it highlights speed and braking points such as racing marshall boxes, changes in curbs, signposted distance markers and other visual queues so you know when to prepare and what to do next without using cones .

Circuit Experience is indeed an excellent way to learn or improve on a track, because it allows the player to work against his ghost and online leaderboards section by section (gold medal should not be considered valuable there).

I qualified in 6th, which I was relatively happy with for Suzuka. Only 2 guys have times that are a second ahead of everyone else, while the midfield has 10 people within a second so that should be interesting.

Race starts and I take it easy through the first half of the lap to make sure I have no accidents. After about 1.5 laps a guy loses it on a corner so I am up to 5th, and then a little later another mistake and I am up to 4th. I can see the 3rd place guy ahead, so am thinking about maybe even getting a podium.

Unfortunately this is where the fun starts. One of the guys that made the mistake earlier is catching me, so I am starting to feel the pressure as he is clearly faster than me. I go into Spoon a little clear, and then going into the 2nd part of the corner am punted in the back and pushed clear of the track. Obviously this is my fault as I get a 10 second penalty, and I am now back to 9th.

Oh well, might as well keep racing. I slowly catch the guy ahead where he decides that weaving on the straights is what good drivers do. After been pushed off the track twice I manage to get back ahead into the final chicane. Obviously this was a bad idea as I didn’t punt him off as he got the slipstream down the straight and hit me hard going into the 1st corner sending me way off the track and giving me another big penalty and dropping me back to 16th.

I decide then that considering other similar experiences with A and S class safety rated racers in earlier races that I should probably play a more peaceful game like Destiny 2 as there is less violence.

Shame about other's bad races, the aren't much fun.

Personally I have had nothing but great FIA races. My favorite so far is probably Suzuka Gr.4 last night. Grid full of other DR-A / SR-S drivers and managed to qualify 6th after timing the gap in the session nicely so that I got 2 clear laps. The amazing thing was the top 10 on the grid were separated by less than 1 second with a high 2:11.XXX on pole to a high 2:12.XXX, so I knew it was going to be a close race.

Managed to finish 3rd. Got to 5th at the end of the first lap by getting better drive out of the hairpin and passing into the next left hander. Then After a mistake on lap 2 by 3rd onto the main straight which 4th place tried to capitalize on but lost a little drive in doing so, I managed to drive alongside right next to the pit wall and get back to mid track to defend the line into the first corner. Then had huge pressure from 4th until the end where some parts my Viper was stronger (corner exit and speed) and others where his Cayman had the advantage (direction change and entry/mid corner speed).

Overall I was really happy with this race because it was 100% contact free, super consistent with 2:12.XXX every single lap, and I got 1600 points for the 3rd place.

For every bad race there is always way more like this one to make you forget in my opinion.

That looked like an intense battle for the lead - I had my own off and got punted once so I was fairly far back, but it was fun to watch from a distance. :)

I'm not great at braking when I don't have a clear braking marker myself - I just try and find something - track object, texture change, anything - that's close to my actual braking point, and work out some mental count of how much before/after that marker I should be braking. So for the final chicane I was using one of meter boards (the 100m one I think), but braking what felt like a quarter/half second or so before it. Other times I try to judge it by distance, or where the marker is rising on the horizon. I can't do it very precisely though.

I'm B/A and had yesterday only time to make the nationscup, four players were B/A, the rest E/B. finished 2nd...and get 307 points....last week similar results only with B-Drivers, made me about 600 points

For every bad race there is always way more like this one to make you forget in my opinion.
Having a bad incident in a race doesn't turn that whole race as a negative experience for me. Even if it costs positions, as long as there are fight, there's racing and i'm fine. In around 10 races, almost all the battles i had were fair, i can't really complain about deleterious behavior so far. (i would instead only blame PD for the Tokyo "race").

I only whish i have a "LOL" flashing post in the back of my car to answer the headlight flashers who thinks they can play the intimidation card on me.

I just quit my first ever race. Poor qualifying. 2:04:8 (I could do 2:04:000 or high 2:03s). Started in 7th or 8th place. With a 2:04:3xx lap, would have started 5th, close to the clean guys and away of the dirty ones.

First corner, a spanish guy dives on the inside coming from way back - he was not beside me when we start braking. Lost one place. At the end of the straight I'm on the inside, I recover the position. He goes wide because there's no grip on the outside line of that right hander. All good I think...

Keep following the 2 guys in front - 2 corvettes. 1 lap later, at the top of the mountain, on the fast downhill left corners, they hit each other, the guy in front spins and gets ghosted out. He stays on the racing line instead of going to the outside line. Just when I'm about to pass him (his slow as hell at this point because he's recovering from the crash) he comes back to normal and I hit his back. Got 13 sec penalty. Race ruined. I keep racing. Down the hill, the guy I just passed doesn't break (I'm pretty sure it was on purpose) and hit me on the Falken corner. I go straight into the blue wall / grass. Again, I come back to the track, stay on the outside so a bunch or people go by. At this point I still have +9sec of penalty.

I do a few more laps and I'm in 14th or so (can't remember tbh). The guy is again in front of me. On the back straight, after the falken corner, I'm on his slipstream and I go for the outside line as we approach the left/right corners. I get bumped on my left side and here I go again to the grass. I come back to the track, still with over 8sec of penalty on the screen. I'm 18th now. I keep going (lap 7), there's a Viper, a Bettle and a Vette in front of me. After the first straight, i get dive bombed on the inside. Up the mountain I go, following the Bettle. He hits the walls several times and I try to overtake on the inside. He pushes his car into me but I can pass, even though he still tries to force his way ahead. A Ferrari who also passes the Bettle just uses me as a break hitting me at full speed, again on the Falken corner. I go off into into the wall again.

I'm 18th. 2 laps to go. still +8 seconds of the stupid penalty I got on my 2nd lap. What's the point in continuing with this bs? I know the people in front will simply not let me pass cleanly. I quit the race. And I don't give a damn. I wish I could get the replay though.

The penalty system needs to be patched and the SR rating needs to be way harder to get. I was in a lobby with 1 S/S, 11 A/S and 5 B/S. Probably only the first 4 /5 drivers were clean because I've raced them already on other occasions. Most of them are simply morons / dirty drivers.

Oh, and btw, I had the chance to practice (both flying laps and races) this track for several hours with @MINKIHL before the race. Just to get to it and get it ruined.

Seriously thinking about not participating in this races any more. Unless the penalty system is patched and the S SR rating gets tougher to get, I will not be taking part on this pseudo FIA championships when they start.

Was really looking forward to the Mount Panorama race tonight as it's my favourite track in the game. I got a really good qualifying time that put me in third position (best I've got in the test seasons so far). Unfortunately some a-hole pushed me off track in the very first corner. When I caught up with him on the end of the lap a ghosted driver decided to stay right in the middle of a narrow road and he became visible at the exact moment I decided to go through him. Made my car spin and I got a 10+ sec penalty. Didn't even think about it; just pulled up options and ended the game. What a waste of my time.

I think this was my final championship race. The final straw If you will. It's the third one that I have rage quitted because of overly aggressive player behaviour. I just cannot deal with it and I'm completely exhausted by it. I have no single idea how to adjust to drivers like this. I try to crawl cautiously behind them or overtake with lots of space between us, but they always get me somehow anyway. The ruin my qualifying runs and they ruin my races. I've simply had enough.

I pray to God that they do some changes for the next test season. Penalty system, ghosting, matchmaking etc. needs some major adjustments.

I got disqualified in the second race of Manufacturer Cup because someone in a Porsche braked too late and dived bomb into me so i ended up in the gravel pit around the chase corner in Bathurst.

So I got pushed hard into the gravel pit, my SR decreased and I was stuck trying to get out of that place. There's a disqualification if I stayed too much in the grass/gravel and I couldn't make it in time so the game instantly kick me out of the race.

Mind you, this is a race filled with SR of S and Driver ratings of D and C. I'm gonna upload a footage soon.

This game. :indiff:

Yeah that went about as well as I expected. Bathurst was never going to go well was it.
I thought I was doing well, made a sweet pass on 3 cars at the end of the long back straight. Then got t-boned at the last corner by some **** in a Mclaren.
I'm not proud of myself but I just rage quit after that. I think I'm done with the FIA races, they are providing so much worse driving standards than sport mode. And unless your one of the top guys then there's no point taking part anyway. I'll stick to sport mode and private lobbies from now on.

Oh and while I'm ranting, does no one playing this game even watch real motorsports! No one knows how to qualify! They treat it like a race. I'm trying to open a gap to the guy in front and people keep overtaking me and racing each other! Seriously! Stay back and open a gap then we can all get clean air in front of us. They need to make qualifying longer so everyone isn't rushing to get a lap in and tripping over each other.

I would make the quali 15 min and the race longer..instead of 10, 15-20 laps
