Really looking forward to TDU2! Didnt get #1 until 2 years ago, on PS2 first, and I thought that was great, until 18 months ago I got it for PC (looking for hardcore mode), and it has been just awesome. #2 should be even more and better.
Seems like PC may be the way to go if the frame rate isnt really up to snuff on the PS3. Perhaps the PS3 is getting on in the years now.
Suzuka on GT5 for me seems to run at 30fps, which just isnt do-able, TDU1 on my old pc would bottom out at 45fps with the right settings, and this was the perfect minimum (with Vsync on)

That doesn't make any sense. Of the three formats, the PS3 is the youngest. So, if the PS3 is getting on in years, so are the 360 and PC.

It was really annoying when you were on a car transport mission.

That's one of the reason why the PS2 version of TDU1 was better.
Erm, I owned it on EVERY platform and that was never, ever a problem. You may want to go back and play TDU and you may realise that Car Deliveries are a single player mission and therefore take you out of the servers for the time you are doing it so you do not get hit.

It makes perfect sense, he is saying the PC option may be better because computers are only limited to what you have bought for them.

An expensive computer can run a game like TDU 2 on maximum graphics at around 60fps. The PS3 will probably (judging by other games) be running on medium to medium-high graphics maybe scraping 30fps. The PS3 is a very outdated machine by todays standard, it is old. I don't see how it is the youngest when it is 4 years old and they have made computers in that time and still are. PC will not grow old, that is all.

I took a gamble on this and ordered it, for the PC though. I'm not really sure if i will like it, but i like the concept and a few friends are playing it, would be interesting see if they can pull off the "Wow with cars" idea they seem to be going for.

As for performance, the PS3 is dated and assuming the developers did a good job of optimisation the PC version will no doubt look a lot better, but it is depending on the power of your PC, the main reason I ordered the PC and not the PS3 version was down to the price being so much cheaper for the PC.

Still not sold on the physics engine, carlist, outdated graphics... but I like the concept enough for it to warrent my money, i guess we will see.

Not really a WoW with cars...more like an MMO version of NFS Hot Pursuit. It IS an MMORPG or MMOR, as Eden calls it.

And I don't understand what everyone is complaining about when it comes to graphics. I just watched the latest developer video, and the graphics look pretty awesome, to me. But, I guess everyone has their opinions. I just will never understand why everyone always expects perfection from every game.

EDIT: Okay, PS3 is the youngest current gen system. If the graphics on a PS3 game look crappy, it's the developer's fault, NOT the system's. I mean, look at GT5. That game pushes the PS3 beyond it's limits and it runs relatively smoothly and looks awesome. However, not everything is going to look as GT5, though. I am expecting TDU2 to be more NFS HP quality.

i really dont complain about the graphics. to me, its a new game to play. a new online driving game where we can hangout and cruise for hours on in. i love it! :)

Oh my god, your ignorance! PD spent a very long time making the game like it is.
The PS3 is so very outdated, you do not seem to understand that. It is not the developers fault that the PS3 looks the way it is when the PC version looks better. It simply means the PS3 can not cope and they don't have time time to focus on one system and make it better like PD could.

If a PC version has the ability to look better, the developers obviously made the game better than it can run on the PS3. By no means is it their fault. Following the old rule, technology doubles every year we can say; the PS3 is four years old and therefore technology has improved 8fold since then.

A big reason that the graphics cannot compete with GT5 is probably the massive open world they have to account for with Test Drive, it's more in the same area of things as games like grand theft auto (another game with pretty crap graphics). Though it does have to be said that TDU2 could be better, the graphics have not really moved forward much from the old game, it does look a fair bit worse than the selection of games from the Need for Speed franchise, along with the modern Codemasters games like Grid, Dirt 2, F1 2010.

We could moan about the cars not looking as good as GT5 cars, but then GT5 was in development for about a millenium to look that good, and even with that GT5 is quite low res and takes adjusting if you have been playing a lot of PC games with their high resolution and AA, which is down to the lack of power available with the PS3.

The PS3 is the most powerful games console by such a small margin over the 360 that it doesn't really warrent a mention, both are long out of date. Technology moves fast and anybody that thinks a console can ever be up to date is in the dark. Nothing in the computing industry ever stays on top for long, infact by time a piece of hardware has been released there is already something better on the way.

Okay, I'm gonna stop this train of thought right here before this gets into a big debate about Consoles vs. PC. If you want to get the game for the PC, then do it. If you want to get it for a console, then do that. Now, let's PLEASE try to just discuss TDU2.

Simply Games were called out by Eden's Devs and the forum was told an investigation into that site was being rushed through.

As for the graphics, it's offering at least 1.5x as much landscape as the last game, if you consider two islands and off-road sections on both (presumably).

It was an advert?
Odd because releasing games too early is illegal and therefore that link is violating the AUP.

It's not illegal, just a breach of contract between the developer and retailer.

Advert? Someone was assuming I was lying about owning the game, I was just showing where I bought it - also if I was into advertising, I would claim the game is fantastic, it isn't.

Yup.

TDU1 = 1000 miles of roads
TDU2 = 1863 miles

a little less than twice as many roads. But, it's still 800 miles extra of roads. That's About the distance from Seattle, WA to San Francisco, CA. Which is about 3/4 of the West Coast.

I didnt mean you.
And justin a contract is protected by law if you break it you end up in court.
Anyway anyone else have thd game and want to share their thoughts?

A lot of my friends have the game on PC and swear it's fantastic, I guess it's just one of those games that's going to divide opinion.

Talking of the West Coast, I'd love a pure driving/lifestyle game set on the PCH, so you could cruise about. Have a change of pace. Maybe add in surfing minigames and the like. I like how they've got a Big Sur style locale in NFSHP, but imagine the whole thing. Mmm.

Pre-ordered it for the PC, I'm guess it probably will look the best and the PS3 controller just isn't suited for a racing game and my hands. I am really looking forward to the game though, it looks like there is so much more to do then just race.

it looks like there is so much more to do then just race.

This is why im buying it. In gt5 you get the X1 and thats pretty much all you drive whilst in this you can have fun crusing in hummers and mustang fastbacks.

Bad news about the 458 being PS3-only. I suspect the T10 license that brought it to FM3 was an exclusive for MGS games only.

The Pagani Tricolor will be released on consoles as a DLC in the future.

Also, Atari is currently looking into the possibility of releasing all the exclusive pre-order cars as DLC content in the future, but, as of now, that isn't going to happen.

Also, looking around on the TDU2 forums. Atari is planning on a SUV/4x4 DLC pack.

So nice to hear about DLC before even the game is out...kinda says: we could have put it in the game but instead we'll charge you an additional 10 bucks.
