I was tempted to get the STI, but got a 370z instead. Wrong choice there. 4WD is the way to go, it seems.

Oh don't say that; I just bought a cherry red one with the tan seats because it was such an alluring combo. How bad is it in races? I'm just cruising around and discovering roads. Love the 370's sound.

Thinking about getting this for the same purpose. This game any good to just have a leisurly cruise? Or is it more geared towards racing?

I'm considering buying the came for the same reasons as you. I like to cruise around being a normal citizen stopping at red lights etc , then having the odd blast. The only thing that is currently off putting is the talk of physics. I'm still undecided

Pre-order cars are coming in a DLC pack. So far, the Shelby GT500 and Pagani Tricolore have been confirmed, but it sounds like they'll ALL be made available. But, Atari wants to give those who DID pre-order some time alone with their cars.

Cruising is alive and kicking if you drive with the right people. I must have cruised for a good hour and a half with a German and Japanese guy I randomly met driving around. Almost went the entire distance around Ibiza, and with stuff like turn signals, it's even more fun . Find the right people, and cruising is easy.

Its a good cruiser, but most people (myself included) jet around at death enticing speeds. Also there are a few people who like to play bash wars, after being annoyed at someone for smashing into me while i was dodging traffic for cash, i ended up smashing him off the road for a good 10mins, after which point about another 5-6 cars had joined in with the session.

That said i've had a fairly "bash-free" bit of racing at the circuit in ibiza. Only problem with cruising with others is the servers, they drop off and on constantly, they seem to be unconnected to the servers used for the map/houses. Sometimes you can go into someones house, see them on the map, but in the world you cannot see them. Happens a lot, and is a big issue that has not been fixed since release (yet).

Is it just me or has the nissan showroom moved from its previous location in Oahu? Or am I lost. Also, are there not any lambo's anymore?

No lamborghini in this game, infact theres a tonne load of cars missing from TDU1.

The physics are a huge letdown. No, I'm not expecting GT5 level physics, but something more on par with NFS. The FFB code is a joke too. Multiplayer doesn't seem fun at all. I think I'll be back to online Nordschleife in GT5 pretty soon.

Quick update on things, completed the Ibiza cup race....1 million credits winners fee!.....and have unlucked 100% of roads in area 1 of Ibiza. Got one peice of wrecked car to find for both the betle and the buggy (aaaaargh) and I'm starting in on hawais events. Picked up the zonda and Ruf Turbe, plus the ariel and the caterham all of which have there own merits but stand out in the game for me.
Had a few multiplayer races but the server issues on the PS3 is putting the bakes on that side of things most of the time, even simply cruising with a few freinds can be a pain at times, Hurry up eden thats the games biggest draw!
Think I'm going to need a map of the wrecks for Ibiza as well, must have past the two remaining wrecks during races so I've no indication where they could be now......very anoying!
Loving the game but want to start in on multiplayer as I'm sure most others are by now, one last thing came across the race on Hawai where you start at the top of the mountain and race to the bottom......It was my favourite section in TDU1 and it's good to see it made it to TDU2....didn't recognise it until the third checkpoint due to the improved graphics! I'll get it stuck on the online challenges when there up again, I'll post details.

I managed to finish off 100% of roads in Ibiza area 1 tonight. I got stuck with a very tiny road next to one of the tunnels to the north. Was started to go insane but luckily chanced across it. Put up with that just so I could go out and spend about 1.3 million tuning my Zonda Tricolor to level 4 . At least I've got arguably the best car in the game now . The Zonda has excellent handling, and only lacks in top speed compared to the Veyron and CCXR.

The Zonda tricolor is a much more exclusive car than others, if it wasnt for the free casino i would have gone with the steam offer including the zonda, instead i have the Veyron Supersport, its cool but theres something just not right about it, that and the fact that absolutely everybody is driving around in Veyrons, they are fast becoming the least "cool" car in the game.

It's because the Super Sport is quite a bit faster then every other car.

Did some experimenting.

Standard Veyrons gear ratios are different giving it better acceleration off the mark, as the Super Sport seems to lag going into 2nd.

On a speed run i did just outside the european trader (where i test drived the standard veyron) i got the Veyron 16.4 to 249mph, where as my Super Sport with stage 3 tuning hit 258 on the same run. Super sport is faster, but only by a very small ammount and it seems slower in the 1st-2nd gear transition (perhaps a result of the acceleration tuning not working so well? ^^).

Zonda Cinque is a far better race car, infact i'd say it is the fastest track car, slower on the straights but much faster in the corners than the Veyron.

I'm a paupor and bought the Zonda R........stage 3 tune, it's prety sweet, but on a track or tight street track the Ariel rules and at a 10th of the cost.......Poseing car has to be the RUF Turbo and the Caterham.....which is now carbonised with the clasic green nose cone and a little union jack on the rear arch......Anyone droped in the Ibiza traing "carpark/track" allways a few drifting sessions going on there, good fun to watch and jump in, yes you can drift the cars, well for about 50 meters LOL

Yeah, but it's also quite a bit uglier than every other car. Heck, even the Spyker D8 looks better than the Veyron in TDU2. So, everyone's driving around in a big, ugly, really fast, fat woman. Good for them. I'd rather have the Zonda.

I definitely didn't like the lack of single dealers. It made the first game that little more interesting to go to a single brand dealership.

Yeah. But there isn't enough of one dealer to really have a single dealer. And the empty Dodge showroom implies to me that there's more Dodges coming. In fact, ALL the showrooms had some pretty big empty spaces.

There are already a bunch of DLC cars available online, considering the relatively tiny ammount of cars in the game (or atleast it seems tiny after playin GT5 prior to this) i find it quite insulting that they are selling cars. Heard they are planning to release all the exclusive preorder cars in 3 months as DLC, to milk some more money out of the game.

I really don't like companies that do this kind of thing with their games.. don't release half a game and then sell the other half off in spare parts, its not like TDU2 is jam packed with cars and content, if you focus on simply racing the Solar Crown series you will run out of races pretty quickly, most car classes only have a few cars available to race in them, until you get to A2 and A1.

I've grown quite fond of my Veyron Super Sport, there arent many of them around, but the standard Veyron car is way over used, they are popping up everywhere as it is by far the most popular car, i've also seen a lot of the DLC (different colour) Veyrons around.

Zonda Cinque is the only other competitive car in the game, which leads to the problem of only seeing the Cinque and the Veyron being used for racing, and in straight line speed nothing compares to the Veyron.

Favourite cars for me though.

Nope. Only a few of them. There's still a lot missing. Like the Shelby GT500 and the Veyron SS and the Audi RS5.
