Do you realize how much non sense this comment make? Because I don't know of a single game that doesn't let you use a car that you bought.

This whole idea that you can make players build a connection with a car by making the game grindy is absurd. Never felt more connected to a car by buying it or for winning it. If I learned something from the Crew is that grinding is a shortcut to burning out. So the whole idea of actually working for a car in game doesn't enthusiast me much.
I don't mind putting effort into obtaining cars it just needs to be reasonable or the economy needs to be balanced.
Which makes me hope for a good progression. By good progression I mean not having races in higher classes that pay 10x more than lower classes. NFS Unbound is the prime example of a bad progression system where you have B class races that are just not worth doing.
It gets even more absurd when you look at the most useless feature in a racing game... The Casino. Am I going to spend time gambling because of a boring A class grinding?
I chose the 2024 Ford Mustang as my first car in The Crew Motorfest and apart from free drive, I never used the car. Same for the BMW M4 and Audi RS5 that I bought. Motorfest gives you "rental" cars to complete the playlists, rendering your cars almost pointless. For me it was a massive drawback and the main reason why I stopped playing after a few weeks. I don't think this will be the case here.

Ok, now your previous comment make much more sense. If I knew you were talking about Motorfest wouldn't even commented in the first place.
And I agree. You should be able to use your favored vehicle as much as possible. And I'm still convinced that allowing players to use a single vehicle in different type of racing make for a stronger bond to that vehicle rather than excessively grinding for it.

Couple questions here:
1. Are those cars exclusive to the packages? If you can get them via in-game currency then they are pointless.
2. VIP Solar Pass - is that only for 'Season 1' or all the upcoming 'seasons'?

I brought up the questions and I will have my personal assumptions here - which we can validate later(hopefully KT can clarify these at some point tho):

1. These 7 cars in total are not exclusive to the bundles, but they are only unlocked for free (in bundles) and that's it. You can still grind/use microtransaction (if there is) to get them by in-game currency (since I can see no special modifications are on these cars, except for the livery/wrap on the RR Sport);

2. Don't know if they are planning to run this game in a long period (like most of the racing games these years). That means, there could potentially be multiple 'seasons' during the lifespan of the game. In this case, solar pass included in the silver editions and vip solar pass in the gold edition should be applied for all of the 'seasons' during the game lifespan rather than the first one. Because if they are planning to have this valid for only one 'season', they should state this in bold words somewhere rather than providing absolutely no useful information about this whatsoever which lead to this ambiguous situation we are having right now.

Do the devs plan on bringing Singleplayer events at some point? If they add it someday then I'll be patient 'cause I've been told there's only gonna be PvP at the game's launch.

...Of course I hope whoever told me that is erroneous.

It's a MMO, entirely designed that way. If you don't want PvP this isn't the game for you.

It's Kylotonn so I'm not expecting much and the early videos have affirmed my expectations. Graphics look very much along the lines of performance mode on the later WRC games they made (10 & Generations). So whilst not offensive, hardly amazing.

It's the support aspect that worries me the most. KT have a habit of just ending support for games or not even starting to support them post release. Example WRC Generations I think had 1 post launch patch after a month, then support ended and last week they seemingly switched the servers off without a word. Nothing posted on their socials since May last year.

Given that TDU Solar Crown has a livery editor and the option to change factory wheels before buying a car, I'm pretty sure a lot of people will end up replicating this Sonderwunsch Porsche Taycan.

If the grind is as bad as it sounds, not sure a lot of people will spend those hard-earned credits on a Taycan.

Don't believe it for a single second.
I don't. Besides just a look at the EULA makes this statement a lie.
From TDU SC EULA:

1. The License
NACON grants the User a non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use the Multimedia Product, allowing him/her to download and use the Multimedia Product for the duration of the legal protection of the copyright, throughout the world, for strictly private use and in accordance with the terms hereof. Under no circumstances is the Multimedia Product sold to the User.

4. The Updates

NACON is not obliged to provide the User with updates, upgrades or new versions (hereinafter, "Updates") of the Multimedia Product software.

If only it had... maybe I'd still be playing it.
I mean… not saying they succeeded, but they definitely tried.

The appeal of The Crew for me was the long drives across the USA and not.. well.. this.

I feel like the crew had their own unique thing and their very own space in the racing game landscape.
Kinda bummed out they gave it up.

An mmo style driving game, which hopes for a decade lifespan, yet doesn’t support psvr2..is incredibly frustrating and short sighted.

Sony built 2 million+ PSVR2 but failed to sell them all so had to stop production (Source).
Designing a game around it would be completely insane for a small studio like KT. They're already 2 years late with TDUSC planned for 2022.

Sonys step with the PC-adaptor tells the story, PSVR2 doesn't sell itself and therefore doesn't sell games.

A bit more gameplay & dealer footage. I skimmed over the car list, didn’t realise there’s a Shelby Daytona in there. My favourite car, it would take me actual years of grinding to get it. I really better not buy this game.

I wondered if taking the two extra years was to add support for things such as psvr2 and maybe some swanky wheel sdk’s, because conveying the personality,’ of vehicles would seem very important in a mmo style game. /shrug

So it looks to be pvp only after all, then i will have zero intrest to buy it. If they change it maybe i give it. A shot, but just why its not a good move in my opinion,

I like how they don’t want to throw cars at you like other games. They ruin the sense of progression when they do that.

It can’t be too grindy though, like FM and their bright idea of having car points.

I really question the potential for an MMO racing game, especially arcade. Last week i looked at GT7s trophies and "completing 50 sports-races" sits at 2,5% of all players. Even this title, that brings very seriously involved players to the table only has very few online players.

My experience is that the more casual gamers of Gran Turismo are especially only playing offline.

I liked TDU but this is definitely not for me. Street racing and online don't match for me. Seems very kiddy. And a system with higher reward-paying mechanisms to charge for more expensive editions isn't either.

Still waiting for a single player open world game i really dig.
