Haven't improved my denso time but with my castrol I hit 1'08'221
now I'll start work on the denso again:)

Good to see you Jim and Rypien.Judging by the times i see here i might have to get back out on the track and see if i can squeeze another second out the Supra.

What sort of controller are you using and NTSC or PAL.

The track is burning up with these sub 1'07.xxx times. I've had a couple more attempts in the DENSO but have not been able to improve as yet. 1.06.xxx is definately out of my skill level, but i hope to improve a little (i said HOPE :rolleyes: ).

Great times everyone ............ just imagine if you could play on-line with a big grid of drivers :rolleyes: :eek: :D :cool: (the upcomming PC version of GT3 might allow it ...... mmmmmm ....)

BTW - good luck IforceV8, show em what a GTFer can do!
 
Rypien , a big grid of online drivers would be so cool! I too have been trying to better my denso time and managed a slight improvement ,new best 1'07.697 , don't think i'll ever get into the 1'06's though :(


Whats this about a pc version ? that would be so good can't wait :eek:
 
Yes things are deinitely hotting up!! I'm gonna give this a few more runs tonight. So far I've only put an hour in so hopefully will be able to improve. Keep those times coming in guys!!

Had a few runs last night after the pub and didn't do too badly. Managed to improve my Denso time to a 1:07.186 I cannot for the life of me get the 1st sector right. That time of mine was achieved with a S1 of 22.45x. If I could some how get 21.8xx like sixtyfiveus I'd be down low 1:06.6xx!! :rolleyes:

I hear ya GVX.I am having the same problems with the first sector.I did a few more laps and got my time to 1:07.249 but i am consistently getting 22.1-22.2 @ T1.I had the same problem at this track in the GTF F1 series,always slow in the first sector.Hats off to sixtyfiveus for your flying lap!
 
My best split time for the first split is
21.797
Second split
47.100
Throughout this course I only break 4 times
First corner
The part just before the first tunnel
The bend just out of the firs tunnel
Second to last corner, the one just out of the last tunnel

This is how I got to the first split (doesn’t matter what of the two cars you use).
Drive the car just millimetres away from the right hand side red/white curbs.
Now, by memory I think that there are 3 signs on the right heading down to the first turn, break at the second one, and don’t delay on pressing the accelerator. This is where the difficult part is to get anywhere near 21.797. You want the left hand side tyres to just ride a little bit of the curb, which will help pull the car around the corner. Ride too much curb and the car will spin. Only drop to 3rd gear, if the car drops to 2nd gear, you’re going to slow

Next part, after exiting the 1st corner and driving up the hill, you have to drive through this part without hearing the tyres schreech. I found that not necessarily driving in a straight line through this part is beneficial, as the car jumps.

Next part, don’t go on the left hand side grass at all. Drive the road through this little part, and break just before hitting the right hand curb at the same time, you only need to slightly hold the break here at this point. After breaking, release for a little, don’t press any buttons until you fell comfortable that the car wont barge into the wall.
Should be all go from here.

I think the first corner is where you could make up for most of the time. Perfect this corner and the next two areas will be fine, as they are simple.

Don’t know if these will help, but that’s how I got to the first split.

One more thing that i forgot to add. The Toyota has to be travelling at 252.5km/h passing the start finish line. The Denso has to be travelling at 250km/h
 
Thanks for the detailed lap there Sixtyfiveus should be very helpful :cool: I did notice you said you break after coming out of the first tunnel, i don't break for that bit i just realease the accelerator and tap it through it ( maybe thats why i'm so slow compared to the rest of you )so i am doing the lap with 3 breaking points and still a mile off :rolleyes: though i'm probably not going as fast as you through that part i could only manage my fastest time without breaking for that one but taking it wide while giving the accel a couple of taps then powering when i've got the right line .

My best 1st split is a 22.4?? must be the 1st bend where i'm losing out even though i can get ahead of my ghost in the 1st half of the track it always comes flying past me on the way up to the last tunnel :mad:
I've give up on this for now to give my thumbs a break (they are still a bit numb at the tips :( ) but will go back on it when they are back to normal again and give your technique a try

i break as soon as the car has fully come out of the first tunnel, only for a little bit though, and then i put the pedal to the metal and don't break until the 2nd to last corner
 
I'll try out your method as soon as i get the denso back into service, i seem to have knackered it with all that testing :D
 
Does anyone want any tips on the rest of the track? Yeah i'm pretty bored at the moment, and feel like helping others out.
If you do, the tips will start from the exit of the first tunnel till the finish line.
 
I seem to do the course pretty much the same as you (cept of course for the bend after 1st tunnel and obviously not getting as much speed as you) i don't break after the 2nd tunnel going down the hill i just pull off accel for an instant and hope i get the neatest line to get up the hill with optimum speed and somehow whenever i'm doing a flyer i manage to screw up on the 2nd to last corner :mad: but when i'm behind i seem to hit all the lines sweet :rolleyes: it's so frustrating :(
 
….After you have exited the first tunnel, break as well as turning right. You will see the car turning pretty well, as soon as you can see that the car is at a good angle to make it through the tunnel without slowing down at all, floor it.

After exiting the next tunnel, make sure you are really close to the wall, so that when you exit this tunnel your left hand side wheels will be in the middle of the grass and the white line heading in a straight line to the dip up ahead, once again, don’t make the wheels screech doing this part.
Once you get to the dip. As soon as you hit the dip with your front tyres, take off the accelerator, not for long though, and then apply full gas trying the very least for the tyres to screech while going around this left hander. You shouldn’t be going out to the far rubble strip, while turning this left-hander. If you do go out to this rubble strip, your time won’t be as fast as it could be.
From here, it should be pretty simple getting up this hill.
Hitting this split, stay close to the right-hand wall and slowly move toward the middle of the track before exiting the tunnel. Where the shadow of the tunnel is on the ground, you should, in this order turn full left, tap the break a bit, releasing pressure of the left control as you are going around this corner to stop the tyres from screeching. After this corner, it is pretty easy from here on.

ok sixtyfiveus you got me intrigued then , so i got the castrol outta the garage gave it a few runs and then put my foot down and after about 20 laps i found where i was losing ;) the middle section i was not getting the right line and with a good lap i managed a new pb in the castrol (and the last bend was poor so i know i can beat this ) my new time and sectrors are

sector 1 = 22.060
2 = 47.264

total time = 1.06.967 :cool:

i am gonna take 1st place back man ;) WATCH ME !! :eek:

i'll post my screen shots later :)

Middle section? Are you talking about the big left hander? Is this where you have made most of your time up?
When and if you beat my time, i will give it another go, and see if i can get the title back.

i've messed up man , i've been playing this for a good few hours now and have been chasing each ghost with the opposite car and vice versa , and i have broke into the 1.06's a few times but i never saved my new fastest ghost for the castrol which is a 1.06.878 i have a new fastest denso time that is saved a time of 1.06.931 and i can chase this ghost so i can show a screen shot of my 1st place castrol but dont know the sector times :( i have the castrol time i posted earlier in 3rd place with a 1.06.967 and this is saved so i'll try and show as much as i can in screen shots namely the record screen and the sector shots for 2nd and 3rd place , sorry its a big boobo and it wont happen again but look at my pics anyway and you'll know what i mean :cool: i'm posting them in 5 mins :)
