First - thanks Logiforce and the rest of you for this thread which I have been following for a long time now.

Second - I just checked my Amazon account - no information on delivery and no update at all (UK). It says it is out of stock if you enquire about the product, but I placed my order on 10th September so hopefully will receive it soon.

Has anyone in the UK received one - I know our Australian cousins have received stocks.

I was interested in logiforces comment about maybe using an Apiga AP2. I've just received a Wheelstand Pro for the T500RS which I notice is massively more robust than my DFGT version - presumably because of the extra braking forces. I am hoping that the central post does not get in the way of my feet - the feet pedal box is positioned a lot further away on this stand than the DFGT version so hopefully there will be more room for my feet to flail about on the three pedals.

The T500RS stand comes with a mount for the G27 which you can fit upside down to get a more realistic shifter position with the G27, but it's not going to be low enough or close enough to me to suit the TH8RS - I am going to have a go at modifying the G27 mount by extending it down and towards me.

Very disappointed by the delay because I was hoping to get plenty of time to build the mount before Christmas although I won't be using the wheel or shifter till then as they are presents to me from my wife (wheel) and mother (shifter) - NB I didn't tell them exactly how much they cost!

Anyone who has received their shifter already please post up a review and pictures asap - thanks guys!

Hi can you advise which suppliers? I am in NZ and my Amazon order got delayed to Mid Dec too!..

Try pagnianimports.com they are in QLD and make an inquiry to there sales team. There response time is excellent so if you do it this morning you'll know by this afternoon if they'll ship to you. Also thegamesmen.com.au have stock.

Interesting, my T500rs wheelstand pro did not come with a shifter mount at all. Are you sure yours included one? I need to get with these guys pronto to fix

arrrrrrr .. I'm so mad now, last night, I went to bed n hopin' to receive the long time comin' TH8 RS from Amazon which had estimated deliver date on Nov.2nd.

Instead of postman ringin' the door bell, I received an e-mail from amazon stated that the shipment has delay to mid-Dec ... WTF

This product was open for pre- order back in September :/
here is the e-mail amazon sent me

Hello,

We wanted to let you know that there is an unexpected delay with your video game order (Order# 104-5192900-140xxxx) you placed on September 30 2011. Unfortunately, we are unable to ship the product(s) as soon as we expected and need to provide you with a new estimate of when they may be delivered:

@Sandboxgod - "Interesting, my T500rs wheelstand pro did not come with a shifter mount at all. Are you sure yours included one? I need to get with these guys pronto to fix"

My stand definitely came with a shifter mount and on the website it says the T500RS stand is also compatible with the G25 - so they owe you a mount and fittings.

@Simracer92 - I beleive that the UK Amazon site list the TH8RS as in stock if you enquire under PC and out of stock if you search under PS3!

@BNGTRacer -your rig looks absolutely awesome - keep the pics and details coming!

@BNGTracer, upload a film too! Haha awesome looking setup. 👍

Point me in the direction of a game that is of equal quality on the Ps3 as GT5 were a shifter comes into play........Their isn't one I'm aware of, not that I'm bothered. When I bought the T500RS it was because it was the official GT5 wheel and from what I could tell was the best on the market at the time (Personal taste also). And when the news was released that their was going to be a shifter of such high quality and looked so good as the TH8 I thought Great, what a bonus! I personally don't mind GT5 is the only compatible game at all, In my opinion it's the perfect game for it. I'm sure there are plenty that Play multipal racing games that feel differently, but I doubt it will be the only game ever to be compatible ............As with all things Patience .......

I agree. I really adored Dirt 3 PS3 but online is all kinds of dead last time I tried. So I went back to iRacing with a sprinkle of GT5 (its still so dear to my heart and online is still very much alive)

@BNGTracer, upload a film too! Haha awesome looking setup. 👍

I just worked out pics :dunce: Whats a good file host for vids? I'm using Flikr for stills? If anyone can assist with this ill try to get an 'in action' vid on tonight.

Would love to see that thing in action. The ISR "review" was more like what Latte thinks about amf7's review in my opinion. It looked shallow and hasty like they didn't want to pay any attention to it. lol

You better try to fix that link. ;)

Btw, I forgot to mention but nice setup that you've got now. Although I would peel off that sticker on the shifter. Somehow it bugs me, as in it destroys the looks of the rig overall.

the sticker bugged me too, but when I attempted to remove it it started to tear straight away, so until I locate my non-corrosive contact cleaner it'll be staying (don't want that tacky glue and paper messing the look up more)

Contact cleaner? I always use HG sticker remover, or if that's not at home just some simple lamp oil. Or you could also use benzene.

Cool. Thanks for the tip. I see what I have around.

No problem, I always look for "Grandma's helpful tips" on the internet in those kinds of situations. Just removed some stickers from something else myself, hence it was still fresh in my memory. ;)

Thanks to all for the positive feedback on my recent posts and the setup I have been lucky enough to acquire (hard work and an awesome wife:cool:)
I have set up my Youtube channel and now just need to capture it in action :) and upload!!!!!

OK, heres my first attempt :nervous: hope this works....

Did this in a C.R.A.P Racers Lounge this afternoon with GTVirtuoso....it's only short, 1 lap of Laguna Seca in a Gran Turismo 350Z, but it shows the TH8 and pedals in action together and there's a bit of the screen too...

EDIT 1: sorry link didn't work...am fixing now...:(

Edit 2: Link fixed

Thanks mate! Loved that video. Much better then anything out there as of yet.
I also think it was the right choice of setting the tension higher. It doesn't seem like there is too much resistance compared to the real thing. But it sounds looks and I reckon from the video feels better then any shifter on the market at a still reasonable price point for an add-on to the rig.
I reckon I'll put the tension up to the max seeing this video though, but I won't know until I have tried mine out this weekend.

Ps. On the forum you can use [ youtube ] video code [/ youtube ] without spaces to embed your video. The code is behind v= in the link in your address bar. ;)

I tried that and it just made the frame but no image within it??? I copied the "embed code" from Youtube was that wrong :dunce:

Yes the tension could be a lot stronger, but maybe I was expecting too much for this price range...in saying that though it still feels quite firm, I think in the video it looks not to be because I was racing online and probably got a little excited about being able to throw it into gear for real around Laguna and was using more force than I needed trying to be as quick in the shifts as possible. Even with the rough treatment the thing feels solid and it's only held on with the clamp :D

As above :dunce:

OK, so the PS3 'version' is still out of stock on Amazon UK, but the PC one is in stock, so I cancelled my PS3 order and ordered the PC one.

May I suggest other folk do the same?

I'm sure that like the Highlander, there can be only one.

I know I'm right, but BNGTracer, would you just confirm it to alleviate my infinitesimal concerns? :)

Thanks but it looks... crazy.. The shifter is too far away in my opinion... does not look like the real deal...

Interesting BNGRacer I notice you use your left foot to use the clutch exclusively. Then you use your right foot for gas and brake. But you might want to experiment with 'trail braking' I believe the technique is called where you use left foot to apply brake inputs and hit the gas in tandem with the right foot. I'm just curious if such a technique would be faster than dedicating left foot to clutch.

Very good film! yeah try enclosing that lzKYNPG4ktg link with

Left foot braking. The reason you are faster with this in corners that allow it and automatic cars is that you are able to brake more precise to a certain speed, but most of all your cars engine will keep applying torque to the wheels. Keeping torque on the wheels makes for a faster exit as this doesn't have to build up. Just see torque as muscle power needed to gain speed here.
Also you can use this with an understeering FF car to get it around corners faster when you lock the brakes. This will cost you your tires though. What I also did was save myself from hitting the barrier by readjusting the car using left foot braking.

It's a handy technique to learn in my opinion.
