Question regarding the circuit interface PCB from interfaceone:

Can you please make an interface that will allow you to connect the TH8RS direct to the ECCI 7000 power circuit board?

IF1 is interfaceone, Not sure that he still visits these forums. he's camped out at another fanatec wheel site, you can get to that site if you click the interfaceone hyperlink in my post, or from the youtube comments/info.

In answer to your Question.

YES 👍

you need the circuit interface PCB from interfaceone. to get the TH8RS to connect with the Fanatec wheel, and you may need to recalibrate the shifter. recalibrating your shifter may in fact help you solve the issue your having with the wrong gear selection.

AWESOME! I'll see bout adding that to the OP.

yes i can say he is talking about the g27 shifter plate, i have mine mounted upside down too

Thank you for the confirmation. When I contacted Wheelstand pro US they were pleasantly surprised the shifter mount already supports it.

QTI
When I ordered the Wheelstand Pro, while I was told its for T500RS, the TH8RS was still a long way from being announced so I guess the shifter plate must be for something else (not sure if its for g27 or some other shifter though).

Yeah it was intended for the g27.

Today is a good day! Along with a whole new learning curve. Very nice shifter indeed.

What type of cockpit is that? Good work 👍

(Is it a gamepod?)

- Noob Question: I wonder if you drag it out of the living room when you're not using it or would it be too heavy is my guess

@Sandbox, yep it is a GamePOD. I made the shifter mount myself. As for the mobility, the rig is very heavy and sits in my den. We watch movies in the living room and the family room. The kids have ps3's in their rooms and my wife and i have one in our bedroom too. So yes that equates to 6 tv/ps3's, lol.
It's nice being a grown up kid!

Cannot for the life of me understand why you'd want to cover up the gate........It's the stand out design feature (Aesthetically speaking)

Physically it is there because I have a 3 yr old that likes to cram stuff in daddy's toys. As for aesthetics it will be even more appealing once I install my Sparco Road GT knob. Does that make sense now?

Understandable 👍. I changed the knob to a nice Momo one, the size and weight makes a big difference

Note: OP was updated with a video of the TH8 RS being used in Forza 4 with a Fanatec wheel 👍

Thanks guys almost missed that

Btw, I personally would not cover up the H-gate myself but his reasons makes perfect sense

Just re-measured the TH8RS mounting holes and found that they do match the Thrustmaster installation spec of 40mm (4cm) and 16mm (1.6cm) spacing. Sorry about that - must have measured them with my glasses off first time.

I am installing using M6 studs rather than bolts as these will enable me to tighten up without risking damage to the shifter.

Re my comment regarding it wouldn't fit on a wheelstand pro - I tried it using the G27 mount that came with the T500RS stand, but the shifter mounts very high even with the mount inverted - this would be ok if using sequential to replicate a rally car, but will be very unlike a normal road car.

I will be using a wheelstand pro for the wheel and a sort of centre console for the shifter - will post up some pictures when finished (in a week or two).

I Just spent some time testing the New V2 interfaceone PCB.

I tested it with the SST Lightning, the Frex Controller interface and the TH8RS in H Mode. All worked great.

Then I swapped the plate on the TH8RS and put it into sequential mode..

The addition of the switch on the pcb allows you to tell the interfaceone PCB that the TH8RS is now in sequential mode(don't forget to switch it back when you go back to H mode)!

It works great..

This is a gorgeous feeling shifter, not as fast as the SST (only because of the physics of the stick size and gate width etc.) but it feels so much more like a proper shifter. I might just have to have this on extended test ;)

What's this got to do with this thread. well with this interface you can now use this shifter on a fanatec wheel!

:D

Cheers

Fantastic job 👍
A gameplay video with "FORZA 4" + "H mode" would be great!

Patiently awaiting the arrival of my TH8RS (and a Derek Speare button box) hopefully both will arrive today or tomorrow. Can't wait!

I have a short video of fm4 and the stick in H mode. However we had some high winds at the weekend and my adsl upload speed is less than a modem at the moment so I cannot upload.

Having driven with the g25, fanatic, sst shifters. This is by far the best feeling shifter to date.

I agree, after cursory examination and just a few minutes of usage this seems like a really great shifter! I've only used G25 and Fanatec before, but this is obviously light years ahead of those.

Either I am a complete idiot (very possible) or there is something wrong with my TH8RS. Got it today, mounted it to my cockpit, tested it, everything works, good right? Well I went to try the tension adjustment, stuck my flathead screwdriver in there and it won't grab for some reason, fiddle with it for a few minutes without success.

So I shine a flashlight in the hole, and I see the problem.....

It's just a flat screw head without the groove to fit the screwdriver in. Perfectly smooth. I read the manual, and didn't see any mention of needing to remove a cover.

So am I an idiot, did I miss something? Or did Thrustmaster make a small mistake?

Probably a TM mistake. There was no cover on mine

If the screw has been fastened (so it's in place), there should be a way to make it turn :)

The only way for me to physically turn it would be to take it all apart and use my fingers. I'm trying to take a picture, but with this basic digicam we have, it won't focus inside the hole.

I'm a pretty easygoing person, so I won't let this sour my experience, but I will be contacting Thrustmaster to see if I can fix this myself without voiding my warranty.

Here is a quick picture of the mount I built for it, all very basic using leftover wood from building the cockpit. Also got my button box in today too. Button box wooden mount is temporary until I go get some mounting brackets tomorrow.

Also the whole cockpit for reference. Built by me, all wood, very simple really, not complete yet, needs a little more paint, carpet fitting needs completed, trim work, and my biggest pet peeve....LOTS of wiring cleanup. The cockpit is shaped in a basic race car shape and the "wheel" humps will each have a mount for a CSW replacement wheel (F1 and GT) and then I'll fit a few stickers too. :)

The black screw you see in the side is how I mounted the shifter supports, it's rock solid and the screws will be painted over for aesthetics.

I think I'm easy going.......But that would P**S me off....

Nice set up 👍

oh and Superbike don't feel too bad, my screw has an indent but the screw itself won't tighten. I suppose it could have been shipped as tight as possible, but considering the loose action of the shifter, I doubt it. More likely a flaw in production of either screw or base, or poorly assembled. What is with all this incredibly sloppy QC from racing sim hardware manufacturers? As someone used to CH in flight sims, all of this just drives me nuts. So to speak.

Oh and other than that I love the TH8RS. Overall very high quality and satisfying. Now if I could just get the basic feeling and functionality I need out of the only thing it was designed to do... maybe I'm asking too much.

I am waiting both the TM8 shifter and a Track Boss button box from Derek Speare.

Superbike is your button box going to stay where it is in your photo? and what type of mounts are you going to use for it?

Due to the compact nature required when I built my rig, I didn't have many options for placement, so yes, for now it will stay there. I'm using simple metal brackets to attach it, I only had two on hand so I just did one side and it's already very sturdy, once I pick up a couple more today and do the left side and back it will be rock solid. I wish he would have sent a black USB cable with it, the white one is a bit of an eyesore, so I'll replace it.

My only concern is when I upgrade to the Fanatec CSW wheel due to the larger size of the rims, I may have to relocate it, not sure yet though, will probably be fine.

I plan on building a console for my button box and then I am going to mount the tach and rev limiter next to the wheel.

I wish you could have gotten wheel stickers for your rig, BTW I replied to your sticker question at ISR.

Thanks for the reply. I really wanted the wheel stickers, but after doing some photoshop mockups, it just looked tacky. If I had also done full fender/bodywork stickers as well I think it would have looked good, but that was even more expensive. In place of the wheels, will be a mounting point to hang each of my CSW rims (F1 and GT) instead.
