ALERT: Fanboy post: Im soooo glad with my TM H shifter. The sequential part is way to fragile for me. But the H pattern...boy oh boy. Racing the Brabham at Spa in rF2, just slamming the gears. No careful shifting, nope, i ram it into it position. And the most beautiful part is that is cant be broken.

Patrick I emailed you, can you make me a sequential plate in polished silver like the 6 speed? I have two TH8 and the black sequential plate looks like crap. Thanks
I'd be into that just because my sequential plate is missing... so do that, and a hardbrake plate, and BOOM, I'll buy one of each! It's like MONEY in your POCKET!!

Wait, wut? It CAN be broken, it IS just a mechanism.

Hey guys. I'll see what I can do to replicate that plastic plate. I'm out on vacation next week but when I come back, I'll take a look at it.

Cheers!!

For the handbrake are you looking for just a plate with a slot or you want a spring mecanism as well?

I'm def looking for the sequential plate in polished, whenever you can check into it. Thanks

I already have a modded handbrake plate, but I'd buy one with a strong spring and return spring for sure.

Any news on the replacement sequential plate from rightongates.com yet?

EDIT: Nevermind, his website says he's out until the 21st.

those plates look great, don't see a 7 speed short shift one however. Does he create a proper handbrake plate that has a bracket for the spring, like in some of the TH8RS mods on Youtube?

Additionally, is there a short shift rod similar to Mr Basher's available so we can buy a kit?

Thanks

Hi Mayaman, At this point, I pretty much figured out the mechanism for the sequential plate. The prototype will be done and tested in the coming weeks. I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible but at the same time, it will be much better than the original. I'll keep you guys informed. :)

Will be hanging on your every post.
Good news indeed. Thanks for the update! :)

Hi, no later than tomorrow i'll be testing the 7 speed short shift. I had a few request for it and will keep you guys informed about the results. If everything goes well i'll be taking orders this week!

Currently the handbrake is a project which i'll be looking at after i release my sequential plate. As for the shifter rods, i'm not currently making them but it's in the project book.

Tested this brand new 7 speed short throw yesterday. Works perfect. Check it out!
If anybody is interested, pm me anytime. :)

OK I'll take all of them. The 7 speed, the Sequential, The handbrake with spring.

And yes, I am cool. Lol

What is the sequential plate?
I defo need the short shift 7 speed and one which is like in the video I posted above that utilises a spring to convert the TH8RS into a handbrake.

Those are damn nice! Not horribly expensive either. He needs to take over the shaft making process as well. ;) I can't keep up and hate turning people away. :(

I sent him a message to see if he'd be interested in making the shafts. :) If he has a CNC lathe and the time, it'd work out better for customers in the long run.

MRBASHER!!!!!! I need you!!! And your shaft, no, I mean your shifter's shorter shaft. :P

I went to your website but saw no way to order it, so here I am after much googling around. I hope you will make one for me as the TH8RS right now is just too hard to shift when it's mounted much higher than in a car it feels so unnatural, especially with a long shifter.

Please advise me how I can go about procuring one from you. Thanks.

Send me an email here: http://www.basherboards.com/contact

But sure to mention where you are from (US or international) and if you want a shorter shaft with threads for the TH8RS knob or custom ones.

So you know, there is a bit of a queue I am working through on these right now. ;)

A while ago I did the rubber band mod to increase the resistance in the shaft. That works fairly good, but there are a few things to take into consideration.

First I should mention that I used @LogiForce's o-ring trick instead of that orange rubber band for lateral stiffness in the video.

Have look at this sketch that I did. As you can se in "A" the rubber bands pull with uneven forces on the shaft because of the increased distance to the right. What is interesting is that that pull force seems to negate or cancel out the effect that the o-ring (or orange rubber band) has, i.e. holding the shaft back when I released it to get it back to default (centered) position.

Ideally the rubber bands should maybe be mounted like in the "B" scenario. That would in theory get rid of the unevenness and also help with the centering of the shaft. But I'm not sure if that's possible because there is nothing there to wrap the bands around.

Also, I had to re-calibrate the TH8RS using the calibration tool after doing the mod, because it had been skewed, probably because of the uneven pull forces. Below you can see how the lines (approximately) looked in the calibration tool with and without the rubber band mod.

guys, I noticed my TH8RS has some minor scuffs on the knob, which are noticeable if you look closely. I have only used it for less than an hour so far, and I was wondering if it's normal (it might even have been this way before I opened the box, I just wanna make sure)
