It's Feb 13th, which means WRS on GT5 is 1 year old!:gtpflag:

Although I missed the original qualifier so didn't start competing until week 8, I have competed in most events from that point on and have become hooked on WRS time trials.

As a result, I wanted to take a moment to specifically thank Kevin, Vaxen and Joost for their continued support of the series and for providing a friendly, competitive environment for us all to enjoy each week. These events don't happen by themselves so for the three of you to give up your private time to make things run smoothly and professionally never ceases to amaze, and I for one very much appreciate it.

Thank you

What he said! Happy 1-year on GT5, but wait till next week when it's anniversary #9 for WRS overall. 👍:)

Let me add my thanks to those above for Kevin, Vaxen and Joost. You're the reason the WRS is such a nice place to be!

Most definitely!

A massive thanks to everyone involved!!!

I can remember week 1 like it was yesterday! :)

I'm glad I found out about the WRS, shame I wasn't here for the fun during the past games.

I might go re visit week 1 and see how different my splits might be.

Thanks to all involved in making the WRS happen

This is a rare and fantastic place to hang out, and it's due to all the time and effort put in by the organizers.

It's not just the great racing, but also the overall atmosphere of friendship, and that's an accomplishment that everyone is part of.

Thanks to all.

Been here since day one (of GT5) and what a ride it has been :dopey:

Thank you all, not only Kevin, Vaxen and Joost but also to the great people
that make this forum one of a kind

Seconding all that is mentioned above. 👍👍👍👍👍

Been really hooked on this place since I joined April last year (to some frustration of the missus ).
I actually felt bad I didn't come here sooner when I was playing all previous GT's. :)

Week 20 in GT5P was my first and since then I've participated in 64 more. I would never had taken part in five even if it hadn't been such an enjoyable experience both due to the ever changing and challenging combos but also for the friendly atmosphere among the competitors.

Same here Speedy! Thank you admins for all the work you've put in over the past year+ (or 9 :sly:)

I guess I can consider myself lucky and unlucky. Unlucky in that I didn't discover or start playing Gran Turismo until GT5 and even then not until April/May 2011. Lucky in that GTPlanet and the WRS was the first place I visited and raced. 👍 I ordered the GT5 disk from Amazon in late April 2011, my wheel in Mid May and I was in the registry by early June. I've been spending too much time here every since thanks to the great community (and to my wife's chagrin).

Excellent idea for a thread, Jon!!

Words seem inadequate when expressing the gratitude, but Kevin, Vaxen, and Joost: I join the chorus in saying "Thank you.".

:gtpflag:

And please pass a word of thanks to your "elves"! :)

Great thread Carlos:tup:

Thanks to the admins and staff for all the hardwork put into the series. Really awesome stuff. Also 👍 to the members of the registry, a large part of the reason this place is so great is the people competing.

I will return soon enough, just need Dark Souls and Skyrim to release their grip on me.

Although I am a rare guest in WRS I also want to express my gratitude. Except I am no good with that kind of words ... but really, it is easy to forget how much work and dedication that goes into keeping WRS running, it is no small feat. Kev, Vaxen and others really deserve the biggest  for it, and a happy birthdays! :)

Chances are it was. Just one year back

And when I seen this I thought Jon was being sarcastic (Which would have surprised me[even though I hardly know him]) until I opened it up and read the thread :dunce:

Scott -- We're trying to lure you from your GT5 break with a rerun of kazspa online... Not too late to bite on that one!

With this being the biggest gaming forum and the WRS is the longest running online TT competition must mean that the ones running it are just the best in the whole world.

I feel lucky to have a chance to be recognized by others for something I love to do, by partisipating in an event that takes so much giving, by those who don't have to do this w/ their time that is always so precious. Thanks :)
