The 100% club thread...

I have still to do: Laguna Seca 200 Miles/Special Stage 11 Enurance/Trial Mountain 2 Hours/Mistral 78 Laps/ ALL of Formula GT! I am at around 97.5%?

Cars I still need: Arta NSX/Castrol Mugen NSX/Autobacs MRS/lancia rally car/F686/M/f094/h/ XJ220 race car /opel calibra/ R390 GT1 Road AND RAce version and the Diablo hopefully. I think I can do it in about a month because I dont have much time to play.

good luck getting the F1s. my enduros always seem reluctant to fork one over.

You lucky dog, so I guess this makes it 25 for me. You know I havent played the game for over 3 months or so. I think Ill go play now.

I got to 100% about a week ago, I forgot about this thread.

I have EVERY car in the game which is almost impossible. I just got lucky with some prize cars.....

I plan on being the first person to put more than 100,000 miles on one memory card.... So far I have about 31,000

Can someone tell me what the most miles they have ever seen?

Hey that's a cool idea. I guess I should start saving all my play-runs now. I usually just turn it off after a couple hours of racing - but now I'm in a battle with you for miles (:

Wow ... I checked before I headed to work. I've only got 22,000 miles on my game. I've got a LONG way to go to catch you ... well looks like this is my new hobby.

The fastest way to put miles on would be to run the Escudo on the Test Course at full tilt. But that's soooo boring. I think I'll run the Formula GT Championship in one of my older F1s.

Hey this is a good question: What was the most fun race series for you?

~LoudMusic

Really ... Super Speedway? That's strange to me. I run Midfield a lot, and just last night I ran Rome. Man, the lines at Rome are hard to maintain ...

~LoudMusic

My favourite race series was definitely Polyphony Digital Cup. I had such a blast racing that. I plan on starting it again in a few days.

I save after almost everytime I play the game, unless I buy some crappy car and soup it to hell just to find out that it sucks..

In the F1 championship only, it was neck to neck till the last lap.

My favorite track in the game is monaco.

I kind of remember it being close. But I could have sworn I pulled away at some point. I thought I was getting more laps per pit than the rest of the cars. *shrug* Maybe I'll give it another go tonight.

That on this day, the 13th of November 2002 the manifestation of concept into reality took place.

Since late January '02, I've tallied up about 750 Sim Mode days over 3 different gamesaves (one of which is overwritten), but I had never gotten 100% complete. Naturally, it all started with me falling in love with this game.. my first and only game for my PS2. More playtime brought more curiosity, which brought more discovery, which brought more playtime, and so on... But as I grew to learn more about this game (thanks to this site and others), and as my "skills" increased, my goals for the game continued to evolve. I found myself feeling dissatisfied with the way things played out, often feeling "short-changed" for one reason or another, never being able to get over the "growing pains".

So on August 24 2002, I made a commitment to finally finish this game in a way that would leave me with very little regret, if any at all. Even since then, new discoveries were made, and my goals continued to evolve/enhance. With as much experience as I had at that point, it wasn't as much of a test of skill as it was a test of patience, determination, and persistence.

And now, after 82 days since the start of my most recent quest (my 2nd attempt), I have achieved what it was I had set out to do...

100% in the minimum of Sim Mode days (228, which would include 1st place times on all Arcade Mode/Time Trials)
All golds for all License Tests
All golds for all Sim Mode Series/Races
All golds for all Arcade Mode Races (Easy, Normal, Hard)
Purchase only 2 cars, and do not sell any
Keep as many cars in mint condition as possible (i.e. Use as few cars as possible)
Keep mileage to a minimum
Win as many unpurchasable prize cars as possible (*-this has evolved to winning all prize cars (excluding different colors), which will take around 25 more Sim Mode days)
Spend as few Cr as possible.

.. NO FREAKIN GAME SHARK! ALL THUMBZ!!

So after 228 Sim Mode days, I finally achieved 100% (HELL FREAKIN YEAH!)!!! Here are the #s...

While I did this mostly to see if I could do it, I also had all of you in mind. Without the great amount of support, encouragement, goodwill, and information you've all given, I wouldn'tve been able to do this. I wanted to congratulate all of us on working to get this feat done. Special thanks to Jordan and the many others who help make this great site run. I want them to know that their hard work is very much appreciated.

I'll be posting more details soon on another thread, in case anyone wants to read more on what I did. I am trying to make arrangements to post the gamesave as well as many many replays, without having to buy a GameShark... I need some time to figure it out...

Anyway, just wanted to give a little "beep beep, honk honk" and say thanks to all who have made this such an enjoyable experience!

HAVE A GREAT FREAKIN DRIVE!

Hazzard

Thanks, DtV! My thumbs and forearms are gonna be in shock for a while, but they'll be ok.

While I finally hit 100%, I still need to get the rest of the prize cars... I need to backup this game before I do, as well as some other "logistical" bs...

Again, thanks for yer encouragement and info! You and others here have been a huge help!

Have a great drive! :) :) :)

Hazzard

Dude - Maximum respect and a Standing Ovation ! (You
can't see it, but I'm standing, facing your way and clapping
my hands... :-)

Not so sore thumbs :-)

RESPECT !

/Flerbizky Out

Thanks for the ovation, Flerbizky! With the right substances, I'll be able to actually see you giving the ovation!! ;)

Thanks for the contributions to the other thread, as you and many others helped make this not only possible, but enjoyable as well.

Still tying to figure how I'm gonna post the gamesave/replays without a GameShark... I think some of them might help people get through some of the tougher aspects of this game...

Anyway, Have a great drive, man!

Hazzard

If you could please send me some of those "substances" I'm
sure I'll have the freakiest weekend in a long time :-)

As for helping to make what you have done here "enjoyable",
I'm impressed you can still use that word on GT3 :-)

Do you have an estimate as to how much real time you've
actually spend on the perfect game ?....

Once again Hazzard - You are unbelievable.. - And as someone
else suggested.. Send your result to PD. I'm sure they would
make it (somewhat) worthwhile :-)

But the big Q.. Where are you gonna go from here ;-)

/Flerbizky - Your humble servant in the cold Europe...

LOL. Um... What substances?? ;)

I've said it before, and I'll likely keep sayin it... I FREAKIN LOVE THIS GAME!!! :)
For this gamesave... almost 185 hours since August 24 '02 (82 days, ~135 minutes/day).
I first got my PS2 in late January '02, and borrowed GT3 from a friend in early February. It's been the only game I've played, other than about 20 minutes worth of EA Sports' Rugby game. I didn't buy my own copy of GT3 until mid July '02.

Once again Hazzard - You are unbelievable.. - And as someone else suggested.. Send your result to PD. I'm sure they would make it (somewhat) worthwhile :-)
Aw shucks.. I'm nothing special.. Just a huge GT3 fan who had a plan and ran...

I'm crossing my fingers for the T-shirt!!!
But the big Q.. Where are you gonna go from here ;-)
Well, I'm gonna take the next 26 or so Sim Mode days and get the rest of the prize cars (whether they're purchasable or not). This will give me the potential to have an "All Car Garage"... I'm also gonna look into some "On line racing"...
/Flerbizky - Your humble servant in the cold Europe...
LOL... Just one thing to say here... RULE THYSELF!

Again, thanks for the push, F.. stay warm!

Have a great drive!
