Anyone remember the 'Migrant Mother' photo from their American history class? Here is someone's attempt to color it.

I think they forgot to do the baby though because it looks like it's been dead for a month...
Wow... :ill:
I really like the look on the eyes, looks so realistic with that bright, almost fluorescent green. 👍

And this is awesome

Awesome indeed! Where is this place, where water stands vertically?

If Australians are upside down, it must be somewhere between there and here. I have my money on Kiribati.

Hmm, I think there might be a small amount of photoshopping in that one ;) Looks a hell of a lot cooler than other fantasy stuff I've seen though 👍

Speaking of Eiffel Tower....

I know it's a huge image... but for £2.7m i'm sure you could buy a plot of land on that very spot and build a decent sized house that you could sit in and stare at the same view all day. For real!

Bit late to the party, but no - actually Rhein II is made up of several images from different parts of the river to give it the straight lined formalist look Gursky was after, and also to counteract the lens distortion a wide angle shot like that would otherwise yeild - so sadly you couldn't have a house with that view. Interesting to note that the previous most expensive photograph was also by Gursky (99 Cent II Diptychon at around 3.9million USD), but as I was writing my paper on him I couldn't work out why this or the Shanghai hotel image he did weren't worth more. They just have... more to them I think.

Here they are:

Shanghai

Of the three, Shanghai is the only one to be a single image I believe. :)

Is that lava?? Looks awesome and weird at the same time. Looks more like they lit the water with some external lights.
I think Joey posted a similar shot last year. I can't remember which US National park it is (Glacier, maybe?), but at a certain time of year the sun hits the waterfall just right to light it like that. 👍

Edit: Or am I mistaken?

I'm more inclined to the spotlight at the bottom option too, for some reason.

What, a video that's not supposed to be funny? What's the point then?...
