By Nellis AFB did he mean Mcarran International?

Nope, McCarran Int'l is right next to the Strip, but the main runways run parallel to it. The end of the other runway is south of all the casinos. If you're looking down a runway, the Wynn won't be straight in front of you like in that pic. From what I remember, if you look back toward the Strip from Nellis, you will be able to see the Wynn just like in that pic. It has been a couple yards since I was out there, but from the picture and maps, it looks like it's taking off from Nellis heading south(ish) toward the Strip.

If you're like me, and you love pictures like that one, check a site like FenceCheck, there should be more pictures like this coming soon. The latest round of Red Flag exercises from Nellis AFB just started.

I now have a new favorite website. Thanks!

Electron microscope meets Snowflake.

It's a good site if you like airshow pictures or info, most of the members are professional photographers that do this for a living. It gets a bit annoying when there's a really good airshow, and everyone starts posting awesome pictures that make you wish you were there, the Virginia Beach pics get me every year.

Minty, that's one of the coolest electron microscope pics I've seen. Thanks:cheers:

After a look at Google Maps it makes sense. For some reason I was under the impression that Nellis was way out in the desert. Strangely enough though last time I was in Vegas I stayed at the MGM with a view of McCarran and there were F22's in and out of there there all week.

Is that the 'famous' corner I could have seen on tv? Horse shoe corner? I'm not sure.. Nice photo :D

Photo of the shuttle is really cool!

When I was in Florida in 2011 for the Academy semi-finals, I had them book my flight back to AZ later than everyone else. So I was able to get up that day and rent a car and drive out to the Kennedy Space Center. Hopped on one of the buses and went to a building where they house one of the Saturn V rockets. Thing was incredible.

Me and my fiance went to the Kennedy Space Center back in October and stupidly didn't realise you could catch a bus to do the tour that was included in the ticket price. We got back to the hotel, looked it up and facepalmed. Lots. :(
