Here's my thoughts of the race last night (this morging). This was my first ever race with NASCAR cars and it was same time exciting, intense, nerve-breaking, :scared:, and fun. I really enjoy it

I noticed there was three kind of drivers:
-one very easy to draf, steady as a rock in driving lane
-one little more work/watch out to do to draft.
-one very hard to draf, moving a lot and not staying in lane.

I don't know what group my driving went...:nervous:

There was few times that i just have to let it go and drop to back of the group because i wasn't feeling very comfortable in group and to give me time to settle down a bit.

I'm on my way to Motegi...cya there.

From my experience around you Jammy, you did just fine. I felt comfortable and confident being around you.

Thx. Good to hear. I did tried to do my best to avoid any sudden moves and lane changes.

Heads up guys I have reschedule the first Indy race to 2/9/13.
This was the only date that has changed.

Good race guys. Daytona is a certain kind of animal. You try hard to hold your line, not turn anybody, run anyone over, and all of us are probably guilty of not being perfect. Too difficult not to be. Long race, lots of turbulence, car jumping around, contact. So many factors leave you wondering at the end of the race "am I the asshole"? Its racing and at some point you gotta quit worrying about being careful and just drive your ass off. I thought a few people really need some "holding their line " practice. But I'm probably guilty of moving around too. Or some let off the throttle practice. But this race was probably a good learning experience for everybody.

Track defiantly had the fastest car but Killer obviously wasn't going to be denied. Dude had a long speedweeks and practiced everyday. I really thought, as I was leading the last lap, I might be able to hold off Killer if I held the low line. Me? Hold Killer off, on the last lap at Daytona? Yes, that was my train of thought. I practiced pretty hard all week as well. More than I ever have. Well Killer got by on the outside going into 3 and then I made what I thought was the move of the race. I slipped up half a lane right in front of Ace, who had a good run on me, held 2nd for myself and prevented a Ford 1-2 finish. I made that move without my rearview and it could have been disastrous. I did it for all that's right with America and not letting a racecar with a duck on the hood finish any higher than it needed to.

I gotta thank my teammate Bowtie for sending me his setup. I had a setup that I thought was pretty good. I wasn't gonna sit on pole with it but I could lay down fairly competitive times. The one Bowtie gave me made the car feel less like trying to pilot a shoebox around the corners. Thanks Bowtie, I owe ya one. In closing, wonderful first win Killer, 2nd felt like a win to me, I feel like some love got spread where it hasn't been spread before and that's a good thing for everybody.

Sass that statement was well thought out and definitely true of the happenings of Daytona. Very clean race from most of the drivers and a great bunch to race with. Thank you all for a great race and I hope we can have another race just as good at Motegi. Finally, congrats to my teammate killerclown on a well deserved win, job well done good buddy.

Don,t give me to much credit Sass you drove the car to that 2nd place finish good job buddy.

I think when I get a chance to go watch the replay later I will go straight to the last lap. Just because the last lap was very exciting.

Thanks everyone for all the congrats. I cant wait for motegi. I thought the race went really well we had a few altercations but as NASCAR says its Daytona lol. And ace I've watched the replay all the way through several times and still am unsure how I got around sass you drove a good race sass. If anyone wants to get any practice in before Saturday let me know ill try to log online.

After watching the replay I think it was Track that I was attempting to hold off then you came out of nowhere on the outside. Big push from Ace or something and you shot by both me and Track. That's when I gently moved in front of Ace. Have to watch the last from Track's rear bumper to see it.

You didn't have to worry about me Sass. I went into the race aiming for a top 3, planning on not making any bold moves at the end that would send me to the end of the train (with the exception of last season race 1, I don't think I have ever finished well at Daytona with this group). I had all intentions of sticking to your rear bumper till the end if possible. I would have been more than happy pushing you to a win. Those Fords were just too strong. Hoping I didn't leave the lone Ford team from last season just to be beat by them all of this season.

I was amazed how Killer did that really fast quali time with race setup 👍
That's put me back to practice and setup session. Last night after few hours testing and fine tuning my setup i found it.
Thx to Killer to put quali time bar even higher level. It can be done but you have to have kind of perfect setup and perfect driving line.

I was surprised at the season closer when I qualified with the .238. I don't think I had practiced that well. If I remember correctly no one else was a .2. For killer and ace to both be .2's and with a new record...just shows the work they have been putting in. Last season I put quite a bit of time in to practice and tuning. If I want a chance at beating that duo I think I need to get off my heels and start fine tuning some things. Especially when I am hearing killer is 2 tenths faster at Motegi than my record there.

Anyone planning on practicing this week? What nights? I am usually good after 8pm est (except this Thursday).

So target in Motegi quali will be 32.7xx :)
Nice to know - i'm 0,4s behind but not really done any setup tuning.

I would like to say thanks to my teammate ace if not for his great setup advice I wouldn't have been up there. Aflac to the front lol

Well thanks killer. I must say though I have learned a lot about car setups in the past few weeks, which is probably part of the reason our Fords are fast, well that and the engines.

I might be able to join you during that time track, need to get some practice in this evening.

I need to set up a car for a different league, but then will head into Bow's lounge since that is a common place for anyone wanting to practice.
