Some like it, some don't... I'd be in the same boat if I had some screamo album on it, but I don't..I really don't consider what they did as being a "gift" for every Apple user. It's more of an annoyance since it's a pain in the ass to hide and you can't completely get rid of it.
You do, you just haven't found it... It's in the iTunes Store, in the purchased tab, not the purchased albums in the music tab (which is what I thought it was in at first)Luckily I haven't got the U2 album (yet), I have low memory on my phone so that could be a reason.

If you haven't physically downloaded the free album from iTunes it's not on your phone. After mid October sometime it won't be free. It's a limited time download from what I understand.
Jobs was always rather good at being incredibly opinionated, but changing those opinions almost overnight.I don't think he would have been able to stop the screen size going up, he was a stubborn perfectionist but not a business fool.

Chances are, even if he were still CEO of Apple, we'd still have a 7-inch iPad and a 5-inch iPhone.
About the reviews, at the moment, every single one of those reviews online are based on probably 5 minutes of actually using the new iPhone, during the event, where some of the journalists would have just been excited to use the thing.Couple of points:
1. Does anyone feel the shill from the "first hand" reviews? Some are objective, but most are abnormally positive like it was the next big thing that has no flaws.
I had issues on the Apple Store website as well as AT&T's site. Eventually, I preordered it on the Apple Store app on my iPhone.
iPhone 6, 64GB, gold. See you (hopefully) on the 19th.
Wow Phones4U has just gone into administration. Anyone who ordered an iPhone 6 with them could loose their money. Gosh how times have changed from when there were like 6 mobile phone shops on every high street.... to total market saturation and the closing of one of the biggest players.
Apple’s move to integrate NFC in its latest iPhone 6 seemed like the perfect way to push the technology even further to the masses, but Apple’s implementation isn’t going to be as open as Android and Windows Phone equivalents. Following a report from Cult of Mac, Apple has confirmed to The Verge that its NFC chip in the iPhone 6 is restricted to Apple Pay, the company’s new mobile payments platform. That means pairing to Bluetooth speakers or exchanging contacts, URLs, and photos with a tap won’t work initially.
There’s still hope for the future though. Apple restricted its Touch ID fingerprint sensor in a similar way for the iPhone 5S, but the company has opened it up to third-party developers with iOS 8. While NFC is restricted to Apple Pay for the iPhone 6 right now, it’s possible, and likely, that Apple will extend this to developers in a future release of iOS. For now, you’ll have to pay for goods using Apple Pay if you want to experiment with NFC on the iPhone 6.
I still wonder how many jobs could be made in the US...
My phone shipped out today.
You received LEAD!Hurray for slave labor at FOXCONN!
Apple. So, apparently some people (emphasis on SOME) are experiencing some bugs and slowdowns with their 4S' every since they've put on iOS 8. Just going to hope that Apple is going to adress that, because most of my friends, who have an iPhone still use the 4S and not something like the 5(S) or 6.

There was an article on Ars recommending people don't upgrade on iPad 2 as it was slower and jerky operation. I upgraded my iPad Air this morning and all was fine. I probably wouldn't upgrade a 4S as I'd expect it to be a choppy experience.
