Very good point mate. Although minus the cockpit view I've always thought previous GT's 🤬 all over other car games. So why let it bother me this time? Seems childish really doesn't it? Like you say, all that content for (well $100 or so in my part of the world) you'd be silly to complain.

I just can't stand the movement of the hands on the paddle shifters, frankly they're quite ridiculous.

And I was really hoping for something more coming from a big event such as TGS, like some new track or Super Gt cars from 2009 or 2010 seasons.

The only pleasant thing which impressed me is the wheel vibrating in a Le Mans night cockpit video, for 2 or 3 seconds you can notice it shaking in the driver's hands like I've never seen before in GT.

Besides, it's funny how the only real British track confirmed so far is that Stig's 🤬. The UK is full of awesome circuits that would well deserve more to be in the final GT5 version rather than that one.

And your point being? I didn't have internet access too back in 1997, does that mean I should reply by writing a letter?
Think not, times move on and so do we hopefully and the expectations are therefore logical to extend, if we would all be content with previous possibilities and what we're used to we would still be living in the Stone Age.

I guess we should wait for the final product to evaluate it. All we have seen so far are early builds. It was the case with damage, for example.

Many things are beign introduced in GT for the first time. Weather, day/night cycle, damage, cockpits and more. Somethings might feel a bit experimental (like B-spec in GT4, and rally in GT2). I guess PD has taken the risks to go beyond, and I'm glad they did. They'll only learn from what they have done.

I don't know about you, but I have faith in PD. Loved every single GT game, and even if somethings were a bit off sometimes, they always got it right with the final product, always pushing it foward.

They probably could deliver a GT game every 2 years, in a similar fashion as Forza (please, no fanboysm)and other racing series, but maybe that has something to do with the oriental philosophy.

Anyway, I'm already overwhelmed by what has been announced. Way above my expectations. Now I only need a 1080p TV, lots of beer and 3 months locked away in my room. =)

I meant in GT series.
Stone Age word shows that didnt understand me,
Dissapointed Thread. I figured Alot of new members have come to GTPLANET in recent times. And They are whining complaining and posting weird messages.Could be they Forza fans or not???

I only meant just because it wasn't available in 1997 doesn't mean it therefore won't be missed by those who grew accustomed to it whilst playing Prologue.
To be honest, from all we've seen in the last few days there's plenty to keep me entertained for a long long while and I'm genuinely excited and looking forward to GT5 again and have already reluctantly accepted the fact Standard cars won't have cockpit view.
I just don't understand the logic of saying that because something wasn't available before until recently it shouldn't be considered relevant ( in only a few years, or even months people wouldn't want to go back to playing GT without dynamic weather and damage, etc. ).
GT has in the past always raised the bar or changed the game and most fans I assumed grew with it and expected the 2010 game to be a significant improvement over the 1997 one and wouldn't use it to justify what would be considered relevant or irrelevant.
It might be the grandaddy of all GT-games but I surely don't wish to be labelled a grandad for using the original game as the only point of reference.

Oh right, so GT hasnt had cockpits since then, other games have...thats irrelevant?? GT is supposed to be surpassing everything else.
Stone Age word??
Im not a new member. A person can be a fan of Forza, NFS, iRacing, F1CE and GT5. Its not an exclusive club where liking one game excludes you from the rest.

I figured the cars getting lit up was just streetlamps and lighting off the track, and thought it looked pretty good personally.

From,
Chris.

Thats what I thought, dont have any problem with the surrounding lights and they're effects. Its the car lights themselves I have issue with.

Pointless thread it should be closed as you can't complain about a game that hasn't been released because how do yuo know that build etc is final.

Agreed, lets just close the whole forum based on this man's logic.

First and last time I'll be in this thread. It has a very strong 'what has been seen, cannot be unseen' feel for me. I'll post an example.

Look just below the gun barrel at Bond's fingers and line it up with his lips. What has been seen, cannot be unseen. I don't want my GT5 experience ruined. Ignorance is bliss.

I can't see it.

I'm willing to forgive this game for any of its shortcomings because in the end it will all be worth it. Plus don't forget about patches for smoothing stuf out abnd for glitches.

I think nobody would claim otherwise, a rather obvious statement which can be apllied to anything.

It's not that obvious if people are making threads like this now is it?

Unfortunately, the flames of expectation were stoked by talk of perfection from those responsible for the game.

I think you are confusing PD being proud of their work with claims of literal perfection. I know the subtleties are lost on many people around here.

People getting a picture in their imagination of what something is going to be and then getting all upset when it does not exactly fit that picture is not uncommon. Don't worry. One day they will grow up and learn to temper their excitement.

I don't assume anything. I simply read what people write. You should give it a try at some point.

I have read what you wrote, maybe you should do the same, reading your own writings that is as you said it was not that obvious ( relating to me calling a previous statement you made rather obvious ) since threads like this are created.
So I ask again, since we both agree unrealistic expectations lead to disappointment, what's the unrealistic expectation leading up to this thread being created?
And how do we in general ( as most here don't know the ins and outs of creating a game on this scale or at all ) know which expectations are unrealistic in the first place apart from the rather obvious ones?

I can't see it.

Is it that the line of his fingers that is in-line with the line of his mouth looks like one continuous line? I just saw that and it looks strange! It makes his mouth look big.

Sorry or the off-topic.

Won't say anything until GT5 is out, nuff said. Half-baked gripes on a game that isn't released yet is pointless. :indiff:

i worry cars from gt2 will sill be missing, i worry the obvious omissions will not be filled again, what i don't worry about is premium vs normal, or little children that put ipods together

I worry about the lack of capitol letters round here.

Hope we don't have to hold triangle for reverse with our wheels. Such an easy thing to fix too.
