Tomoko just popped in scene? No address? No status? No sign of following? That's strange..

Also a little self promo: the SRT Viper makes a small feature in my bonus page to be released sometime this week. Just need to find a place to do so though..

Remember, one of the ways to know a person's address in Japan is through their car's license plate, especially needed if the police catch speeders by visiting their homes. ;)

That's because the place where the car is registered is stated on the license plate, and most likely that's where that person lives.

Hiroyuki seems to be taking a stroll around the district, window shopping or even just looking at the people around him, talking to each other. It's as if reality is hitting him that no man is an island after all.

He walks into an alley, and then stops at a certain location. He knocks on the garage door. Coming out is a man wearing jumpsuit usually worn by mechanics.

Hiroyuki: "Kaido, still working on your Fairlady Sports 2000?"

Kaido: "Hiroyuki Hiramoto.... Suzuka's Lone Wolf. What do you need?"

Hiroyuki: "How about we have a little ride using your car?"

Kaido: "Then what? Criticize my driving again? I know you..."

The two then head to Kanagawa, for the Fairlady's shake down.

12305176024_aca28ebd0c_c.jpg

Kaido: "Hehehehehehe.... you got punched by someone? Heh... I think reality has finally found a way of hitting you hard."

Hiroyuki: "I guess so. I commend his bravery for standing up for someone, and I know I had it coming."

Kaido: "So, what are you going to do next?"

Kaido applies the heel-and-toe downshifting as the car approaches the corner.

12305323426_c418a4642b_c.jpg

Hiroyuki: "Your braking is pathetic. Knowing this car's light weight, you could have braked later, and so does your control of the brakes."

Kaido: "I knew it. I had it coming."

Hiroyuki: "Before I race with that Michiharu guy, I have to win a race, much more important than that."

Kaido: "Oh I get it."

Hiroyuki: "At least my little brother clearly has fighting spirit, and I don't see something like that from Michiharu. He can talk big, but he doesn't look like the part.

Kaido: "Comparing Michiharu to Ryuji Hiramoto? Heh..."

Hiroyuki: "Ryuji is someone I don't want to lose against. I don't know, but whenever he challenges me, I feel this intense burning desire to win. Probably because his competitive fighting spirit lights up the fire in me. And also...

...both of us have clashing theories. We stand firm on our side, and neither of us show any signs of giving up."

12304905713_829be02480_c.jpg

Kaido: "But aren't you bothered by his rising popularity?"

Hiroyuki: "Not at all. It's just our theories that started this sibling rivalry. That's why...

...I need your help once again."

Kaido: "Ahahahahahaha! You? The Lone Wolf? Asking for help again? How ironic."

A month has passed since. And during that time span, I got a license, and Uncle immediately started to take me to Tsukuba Circuit on weekends. Tsukuba is much nearer from Tokyo than Suzuka, just an hour away.

12305169864_fd7a69ea4e_c.jpg

Of course, I haven't yet reached levels similar to a Professional. I made a lot of mistakes...

12305317596_071d70f237_c.jpg

I would miss the inside of a turn. The sense of speed sometimes terrify me, that I don't know what to do next. In this current state, I do need Uncle by my side. It's all coming fast. I have to think faster, especially that there are corners after another one.

And then I would end up losing control.

12304899503_2076a72295_c.jpg

I never gave up. Why would I? I won't lose to Hiroyuki. Not ever again.

There are instances that I get it, that I am in the groove.

12304896513_74d37223b3_c.jpg

But then I end up losing control at the corner exits. So this is what speed is, huh? So I cannot let my mind wander even for a second. Do not underestimate speed, or it will betray you.

12304894093_c53124359b_c.jpg

So this is it. I have entered in an unknown realm called as Speed. Perhaps, this is one place I cannot escape from...

And so, this is probably where my new life truly begins...

Page 7 - The Gateway

Location: Tsukuba Circuit, Ibaraki
Time: 9:00 am

Another week has gone by. Yep, I'm back in Tsukuba, honing my racing skills. This time around, I'm alone in the car, as Uncle is at the pit lane just to watch. I'm kinda nervous, since no one is beside me to lecture.

But something is different in this car. I can...

12322977863_6bb048e43c_c.jpg

...turn it with confidence. Steering is still heavy, but then the car did not lose control. Why is that so?

12322818365_94e919fdba_c.jpg

See? I can just push it further. Did Uncle fiddle with this car? Well obviously yes. Why did I ask that? But even if I didn't, I can notice that he did. In the past sessions, the car was rather handful.

12322971143_5057548ca9_c.jpg

If I push it at the corner exits, it's like it will throw me off. But there is some sense of security that I feel. I'm really dumb about racing terminologies, but I'm sure you understand what I'm saying, right?

The fear that once associated with speed is gone. Now, it's like I have to grasp how this car feels.

I'm really confused. I immediately return to the pit lane. As I get out of the car, I see Uncle talking to Gan, with the latter giving some sort of a ticket. What is it?

Koichi: "Oh there you are. That was quick, something happened?"

Michiharu: "It's taking a while for me to adapt. There's a lot of changes that happened in the car. It's like that I can push it further, that I am more confident with it."

Koichi: "What do you mean?"

Michiharu: "When I step on the accelerator exiting the turn, the car's nose would lead me to the edge of the corner, but oddly enough, there is a sense of security that I feel."

Koichi: "Ohhhhh.... You have a keen analysis there, boy. I have fiddled with the car's suspension. In the past sessions, you are struggling to cope up with the Oversteer, so as a result, I tuned this car to align itself to slight Understeer."

Michiharu: "Under what?"

Koichi: "A rear wheel drive car could use a bit of understeer, you know? Too much oversteer would render it undrivable! It's much better for a car like the GT-R to understeer so that it's stable at the corner exits! Understeer is when the car does not turn enough that it will go out of the corner, while Oversteer is when the car hugs too much at the inside, that it will suddenly lose control, like what happened in the past sessions."

That was a long explanation. So there are such things as Under and Over steer. I got to learn more about racing terms.

Michiharu: "So which is better? Understeer or Oversteer?"

Koichi: "It's in the driving, boy. Both of them can either be beneficial or a hindrance. I'm amazed that you were able to spot the changes immediately, as I intended for those for you to learn about how a car moves."

Michiharu: "On to another topic, what's the thing that Gan gave to you?"

Koichi: "Oh you know him? Well, it's a ticket that serves our participation in his event. It's a time trial event that will be held here next week. The winner will have the chance to be a part of his team! This is it, this could be the ticket to stardom, the gateway to your new life!"

I bet it would be very difficult. I have to set the fastest lap time among hundreds of participants. I'm sure they are vying for a spot in Gan's racing team.

Can I really do it? Can I win this? I'm having images of Tomoko once again in my head. Is it because she's part of his team? If I win, would that mean...

...getting to know more about her? But seriously, it's not just about being with Tomoko.

After all, I HAVE A SCORE TO SETTLE.

Meanwhile, in Suzuka Circuit, Hiroyuki is doing practice runs with Kaido as the passenger. The 2000GT was just finished being fiddled by Kaido by request.

12322988003_f09a8bf727_c.jpg

Kaido: "How does it feel now?"

Hiroyuki: "As expected from you, this car is now perfectly balanced."

Kaido: "I even replaced the brakes, you know? I thought that they would upset the balance."

12322983493_acab10860b_c.jpg

Hiroyuki: "The 2000GT already has a 49:51* weight distribution, so it's a good starting point for balance. I can tell that you definitely took care of the suspension."

12323264874_50a491495f_c.jpg

Kaido: "That makes sense, then."

Hiroyuki: "Kaido, take out the duct tape from the glove box."

Kaido: "Ehhh??? You keep one in your car? Why?"

Kaido gets it and hands it over to Hiroyuki as the latter stops the car.

Hiroyuki: "Now then, tape my right hand on the steering wheel."

Hiroyuki puts his left hand on the stick shift while his right is still grasping on the steering wheel. Kaido wraps the tape around Hiroyuki's right hand.

Kaido: "What is this? I find it odd."

Hiroyuki: "I've been doing this for a year. Now that I have grasped the car's new abilities, I have to apply this technique, and see if I can adapt to the changes using only one hand to steer.

Kaido: "You are just crazy... Don't tell me you've come this far using that technique!"

Hiroyuki: "Silly... I have been racing for 3 years using two hands to steer. It's just that this technique might prove to be beneficial to the car. I did not invent it, as I found out that technique being already used by a popular rally driver. It intrigued me a lot, so much so that I have to give it a try. That technique exists for a reason."

End of Page 7

AUTHOR'S NOTES:

*The game incorrectly set the 2000GT's weight distribution to 54:46. After making some research, it turns out that the real life car has a 49:51 weight distribution. Hence, I have to alter it by reducing weight to the max, then add ballast and move the position to +50.

As a result, the 2000GT handles much better.

It's time for me to prove my worth. I'll see if I'm really meant to be in a car. I'll see if my life is dedicated to the pursuit of speed. Next week would be the event. And with that, Uncle is working all night for this. He doesn't have to sacrifice his sleep for me. He had done so much, and I have yet to repay him.

A typical, quiet Sunday morning. I headed downstairs to join them for breakfast, but as it turns out, Uncle is not around. Auntie just served breakfast immediately without waiting for him. Where did he go?

Maiko: "Oh... if you're looking for your Uncle, he headed out at dawn to have a run with the car. He didn't even sleep..."

Michiharu:
"I'm starting to feel guilty. He's doing everything for me. He can just tell me that I have to work and get my own car if I want to pursue a career in racing."

Maiko:
"Look, you don't have to. We want to give you a much better life, and you Uncle is doing his best. Besides, you are like our son already. In fact, you can call me Mom if you want to."

Michiharu: "Though I'm still half-hearted about this time trial event in Tsukuba next weekend. I have doubts and fears."

Maiko: "Well, what's your prime motivation to race? Isn't it about Hiroyuki?"

She's right... I can't lose sight of that. If that event will bring me closer to him, then so be it. I don't have to rush though, as I have so many things to learn.

Michiharu: "That could be true. I guess there are no ways to beat sense to him other than racing."

Probably because in the environment he used to grow in. Being abused by his parents back then, he adapted to it, and even fight back."

12343203883_b23ee4d7da_c.jpg

Come, Aniki! Let our theories clash here!"

In the large mansion owned by the McCarthy family, only Sir Shaw is the sole living member, knowing his son ran away. He's not alone though, as he has servants and a butler with him.

In his room, Sir Shaw sits behind his desk, lighting his pipette. He smokes it and then the butler comes in, holding a tray with a cup of tea and crumpet on. The butler places it gently on the desk.

Butler: "Sir, here's your favorite tea, Chamomile. Would you like milk for that?"

Sir Shaw: "Not today."

Butler: "Oh, I have some news. I got a call from one of your friends in racing. He said that your son is currently living in Japan, and that he's in a team."

Sir Shaw: "Interesting. So that's where he's hiding."

Butler: "Any plans, sir?"

Sir Shaw: "I have hired you ever since Ben was born, and you know very well my real cup of tea."

Butler: "Teaching him a lesson."

Sir Shaw: "That's right. And I shall do it the hardest way possible, something that will hit him to the core."

Sir Shaw then slurps his cup of Chamomile tea and lets out a sigh.

Sir Shaw: "Remember, I also organize some major racing events all throughout Europe. And if that team intends to race in this continent....

...they have to go through me first. And preferably, Ben should be doing it. I'll make him regret his exodus. I'll make him realize that he still needs me..."

Page 9 - The Spot

This is it... The main event. It's like a showdown of seasoned, heavyweight boxers. Butterflies are in my stomach. I'm not even sure how I stack up against the regulars in Tsukuba.

However, to my surprise, there aren't even half the people I see sitting on the bleachers. I thought this is a big event organized by Gan, after all he has the money.

And.... there are just a handful of racers. Eh??? Why?

Minutes later, Gan calls us. And there are only a few of the participants vying for a spot in his team. There's even a foreigner, probably American, in the meeting room.

Gan: "Good day, everyone. Most of you would think that this is some sort of a big event. Actually, it's not. I have personally handpicked you, as I see potential from within you. But ONLY ONE. Only one will have a chance to be a star in the racing world!"

Koichi: "The numbers are small, but this is still a stiff competition, Michiharu."

Michiharu: "I know."

Uncle points at the American sitting at the front row.

Koichi: "See that American? His name is Richard Sommers. He is rumored to have eclipsed the 1 minute and 10 second barrier!"

Michiharu: "So he must own a very fast car."

Koichi: "Indeed..."

Gan briefed us further for the rules. Each of us are given 2 laps to prove ourselves, and the fastest one wins. Simple enough? Nah... not really. Every millisecond counts.

Gan: "So, shall we begin?"

And we're off setting up our cars. Uncle is really hands on, that I can't even talk to him so that his concentration is top notch. Gan could call me anytime from now.

Erm... nope. The first contestant is not me...

12364259113_a8da95b094_c.jpg

Koichi: "A Toyota Sports 800. It's definitely not a toy. It's a serious performance machine in its day."

"1 minute and 21 seconds!"

Hmmmm... not sure if that would be called as "fast".

12364530074_9f85e4d2b6_c.jpg

The next car is up.

Koichi: "A Nissan S130 280Z! Definitely close to a GT-R. And admittedly, more beautiful than a GT-R!"

"1 minute and 11.5 seconds!"

That... I pity the Toyota's driver. And that was close to the barrier.

12364254223_657c140ff5_c.jpg

Koichi: "Next up is that beautiful Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA. It's a very popular car, you know? Light and tight, definitely a contender!"

"1 minute and 11.8 seconds!"

Close enough. But I have no idea that thing can go that fast. I envy Uncle, as he knows every car he sees at a glance.

It's the turn of that American racer.

12364525254_05403fb40d_c.jpg

Koichi: "Now that's what I call bringing out the big guns! That is one serious American Muscle! 230 horsepower from a big V8. No wonder it can smash the 1 minute and 10 second barrier! The Pontiac Firebird Trans Am!"

12364522744_1caf6d5408_c.jpg

Michiharu: "American Muscle?"

Koichi: "Those types of cars are also slowly multiplying here, like the Supercars. It all began when those American soldiers living in the military bases in Yokohama import those cars from their homeland."

After 2 laps, the Pontiac recorded a lap time of 1 minute and 9.7 seconds. And it does look really fast on the fly.

Gan: "It's your turn, Michiharu!"

This is it... my hands are shaking as I grasp the steering wheel.

Koichi: "You can do this, son. I believe in you. What matters most is that you enjoy this game. Win or lose, you are have a racer within you."

Michiharu: "Racer... within me?"

Koichi: "You heard it right. I think you belong to a car. You even know how to tune a carburetor! Anyway, the car's power has been increased to 30 more horsepower. On the first lap, try to adapt it, and then give it your all on the second. Your quick adaptation is your best asset!"

With those words of encouragement, I set off. Those were the best words I've ever heard.

All right... I shall let that "racer within" spark! Time to let the magic fly!

12378711645_a246baf07f_c.jpg

Here we go! Are you watching, Hiroyuki?

END OF PAGE 9

I see the lovely Pontiac with them wings, but NO mention of a certain booze goose chase.. Smokey And The Bandit?!

Nothing? I wouldn't pass on making this here reference, sum b:censored:! It's a very common thing to mention this box office hit movie in front of this car, especially during the 80s.

Page 10 - Two Laps of Fame

This is it... it's my turn. This is the moment that could change my life forever. I cannot let my Uncle down! He did everything for me. It's time for me to repay his deed.

I've got two laps. Two laps to prove myself. This could either make or break my future...

As for the car, I am feeling that it has gotten faster. He fiddled with it again...

12406403724_07069c9b53_c.jpg

At the bleachers, Ben and Tomoko are watching, with the latter eating Mochi.

Ben: "What's that little thing you're eating?"

Tomoko: "This is mochi, a sweet, sticky rice cake. I'm eating strawberry flavor..."

Ben: "It's just as interesting as that Skyline over there."

Tomoko: "Really!? Michiharu-kun is running? I didn't know that he would join..."

Ben: "Let me guess, you have a crush on him."

Tomoko: "He's my friend, and of course one roots for a friend, right?"

Ben: "That's normal, but I don't think that the case for you. It's something deeper."

Tomoko: "He's sweet, and is even concerned. I do wish he's part of our team."

Ben: "Whether he's in or not, Europe will be a tough challenge. Personally, I don't want going back there. But I guess we just have to obey Gan's orders."

Tomoko: "I'm sure you're bored there."

Ben: "Not really. I find this place an interesting one, especially the cars that most of the world don't see. But I don't mind going back to Europe and kick some arse, if that's the plan."

Even with increased levels of speed, I can still control the car! As expected from my Uncle...

12406105023_c433a444f1_c.jpg

It's like working with a partner. We cooperate each other... WE ARE ONE!

12405936315_165ebc596a_c.jpg

So this is what the hype of the GT-R is all about, huh? Uncle told me that Nissan stopped the GT-R line, and it is unknown when it shall return, and that's why this car is very much sought after. The moments that I drove this car, it sucked me in to its dimension, and I cannot get out.

I'm starting to fall in love with the GT-R...

12406394204_fd36276748_c.jpg

First lap done, I wonder what was the time...

"1 minute and 9.5 seconds!"

Now that I know your true potential, it's time for us the rock the world, GT-R! Let us shine the red "R" badge!

12405930315_d3dc757003_c.jpg

I stepped on it further. I see a bright light... a bright future ahead, telling me that I should go there.

Slow down, heel-and-toe. Carefully steer the car and bury the accelerator partially...

12405927345_d346714f4a_c.jpg

Good boy! We really are in sync!

12406079103_8d259f7d73_c.jpg

But to beat Hiroyuki, I must do more than that. I have to continue doing this! Getting in the racing world will make me learn a lot of things!

12406075793_0816b44533_c.jpg

It's over... Did I make it? Did I?

Did I?

I headed back to the pit lane, and everyone looks at me. What's with their faces?

Koichi: "You did it in...

1 minute and 8.1 seconds! Congratulations! You did it!"

Is this a dream? I won? No, really? I really won?

Gan: "Welcome aboard, Michiharu Kanonji. From here on, your life will be so much better!"

Michiharu: "I... won?"

Koichi: "The stopwatch does not lie, Michiharu! Welcome to the racing world, boy!"

Suddenly, the American approaches me, and extends his right hand.

Richard: "Nice job. Oh, my name is Richard Sommers. Nice to meet you."

Michiharu: "Pleased... to... meet you. Sorry, speak only little English."

Richard: "It's okay. Besides, you'll learn a lot of it... since we'll be meeting more often. I'll look forward racing you once again... and I mean it."

The man leaves. That was not just a simple handshake. There is something behind it...

Koichi: "I guess you met another rival, boy. But don't worry, being with Gan's team will make you learn a lot. You'll improve more, and you'll definitely beat that man again!"

Oh boy... that Richard guy will be my rival? Man, can't I focus on just one thing?

Gan: "Tomorrow, we shall discuss the details of your contract. For now, celebrate your victory. And oh, here's a cash prize for your victory."

And that's... a large sum! Wait, I don't need that much...

Koichi: "Thank you very much."

Michiharu: "I think it's too big..."

Gan: "Just take it! You deserve that, after all the effort."

Without further words, Gan left us. And we head back to our car. Uncle will be driving this time. But...

Koichi: "Uh-oh... the car won't start."

What!? Why!? But you gave your all a while back...

Michiharu: "But..."

Koichi: "That's just normal for engines like this. It's time for this car to rest too, after all the testing we've done."

And then he asked Gan's help. He called for a nearby tow truck, and it should arrive shortly.

Is this goodbye, GT-R? Is it truly the end of the line? But we have a score to settle! It's all my fault, I've pushed it too hard. I've demanded too much...

...forgive me. You did a great job, but I asked too much from you.

End of Page 10

- Next page would be the last page of the chapter.

Page 11 - Expedition

I may have won the time trial in Tsukuba and managed to land a spot in Gan's team, but the GT-R has suddenly bit the dust. Or probably not...

I have to do something! I have to fix the car no matter what! Now, where are the tools?

Koichi: "Looking for something?"

Michiharu: "I will fix the car. I am the one who broke it..."

Koichi: "How many times have I told you? Do not bother. It's my car, and I have my final say when and how to fix it. Besides, it's not your fault it happened. And it's a must to give it your all when you race, right?"

Michiharu: "But I'm just feeling guilty..."

Koichi: "Oh you're stubborn... Just concentrate on your meeting for tomorrow, okay? It's more important than fixing the car. Shouldn't you be feeling happy that you are now part of Gan's team?"

Michiharu: "I can't just keep on racing if I'm going to end up breaking a car."

Koichi: "Breaking, stalling, or even just a scratch are just normal! Those are like battle scars. Race tracks are battlefields too, you know?

Now time to sleep, you have a meeting with Gan tomorrow morning."

All right, all right... if you insist. Maybe he is right, it's inevitable that the car can break down anytime should you push it to its limits. It's not a crime to do your best in whatever you do, right? But of course, it's not my car, and that guilt would remain.

Sir Shaw: "I shall be the beast that will guard the gates. GO THROUGH ME FIRST. I'll go through all the lengths just to stop you from racing here."

Location: Tokyo, Japan
Time: 9 am, the next day

It's a windy, but sunny morning here in the place where I first met Gan. He called me up before I went to sleep last night, telling me to meet him here.

I still can't get over what happened yesterday. From then on, I'll be out of the home more often. But part of me is questioning my position in the team. I mean do I really deserve to be there... especially that very skillful drivers are my team mates, such as Tomoko. I am nowhere near as them. I might just bring the team down.

However, a part of me also tells that I should do this, and that I will improve a lot during my stay with them.

During my train of thought, a black, long limousine. A Mercedes, I think...

And then it honked its horn. It's so loud! What the...!? Hey, is that horn even permissible in the city? It's really, really loud.

Then the driver steps out of the car, and guides me in. As I enter, my eyes just met what is the true meaning of opulence. Leather seats and vast legroom. Gan even offers me a champagne glass. Wait, you drink liquor that early?

Gan: "It's rather too early for a drink of my company's finest wine. Later, you shall take home a bottle. Pardon me for the horn, as this Mercedes-Benz 600 is equipped with that annoying feature.

Michiharu: "Is this about the contract?"

Gan: "Yes. But we shall talk about it once you meet your team mates when we arrive at my home."

I bet his house is very large, with the land covering acres of space with hundreds of servants ready to serve his needs any time of the day. This man is the epitome of excess...

Shortly, we arrived. And my guess is right. It has a long driveway, and we're passing by first in his garage filled with expensive cars... a lot of them. And then we stopped at the main entrance.

The driver guided us out and then we entered the mansion. It doesn't stop there; the ceiling is very high, and paintings decorate the living area with a large chandelier. This is one house that everybody dreams of. But really, I'd rather have a cozy home even if I have a lot of money.

Gan: "Meet your teammates in this room."

As I enter, I see Tomoko, very happy that she will be working with me. And who's that foreigner sitting beside her? Probably her boyfriend...

Tomoko: "I'm so glad you came! I would really be happy to have you as your teammate!"

Ben: "Your boyfriend? Not surprising at all. Both of you look lovely, energetic woman meets a lifeless man."

Do I look that dull? I dress modestly... and I'm still not energetic to be part of this team. And she's...

...just a friend.

Tomoko: "Don't let his looks fool you. No one managed to beat his lap time in Tsukuba after that event!"

Ben: "Don't judge the book by its cover, then. All right, what's your name?"

Michiharu: "Kanonji Michiharu desu. Eigo ga dekimasen, gomennasai. Douzo yoroshiku onegaishimasu."
(I am Michiharu Kanonji. Pardon me, as I am unable to speak English. Nice to meet you)

When was the last time I spoke in a polite manner? Even I don't speak like that to my teachers back in high school...

Tomoko: "He's Michiharu Kanonji. He is unable to speak English for the moment."

In time, maybe I'll learn that language. I didn't fare well in English subject back in school...

Ben: "Ben McCarthy is my name. How about this? You teach me Japanese, while I teach you English. Besides you need to learn about the latter since we'll be out of this country for a long while."

No way! Is he serious? I guess this is the life of a racer, away from home for most of the time...

Tomoko: "We'll head first to Europe. We are fulfilling not just our dreams, but also of Gan-san's."

Then Gan enters the room.

Gan: "You have made quite a friendship there. That's good. Now let's talk about the contract, Michiharu. You will be earning...

....2 million Yen per race. And that's not just coming from me, as I already have sponsors from Europe. Oh, we shall be heading there first.

No way!? Did I hear it right? 2 million Yen? It's so large! Do race car drivers earn like celebrities? It could be because of the risks involving it...

Gan: "You'll also be having a lot of benefits, one of those is free emergency roadside assistance courtesy of me, and this license that allows you to drive in Europe, and you'll be driving a lot.

You will be, because we will be joining in a point-to-point race all over the continent."

I can't swallow all of those details... They're all too much, and I don't even need that big sum of cash.

Gan: "So, sign this form and your life will be better from this point on."

The maid hands me the pen. I am looking at them with hesitation... No going back now once I sign this paper.

But this could be a small step... a small step towards my original goal of beating Hiroyuki! If I have to go all around the world to learn the intricacies of speed just to beat him, then so be it.

I haven't forgotten about it, Hiroyuki...

I... slowly signed the paper. Farewell, shabby old me...

Gan: "So it's settled! Welcome to the team!"

*****************************************************************************

A week later, I'm packing my things for the trip, a long one if you ask me. It saddens me that I have to leave Uncle and Auntie, the people who truly loved me and treated my like their own son.

But I shall race for them. This will be the opportunity to repay their kindness... their unending kindness.

Maiko: "Any time from now, Gan will fetch you and off to the airport. As much as I don't want you to leave, you have to fulfill your dreams."

Michiharu: "It won't be that long, Auntie. I'll return here. And who knows, maybe I can spruce up this home."

Maiko: "Ahahahaha! You earn your money, why not spend it for yourself? You deserve it more than we do."

Michiharu: "And maybe I could fix the car too."

Koichi: "The most important thing is, that you enjoy each and every race. No need to think about us, okay? And when you return, the GT-R is already fixed. Don't worry about a thing."

I'm hearing someone knocking on the door. It could be one of Gan's servants.

Michiharu: "So, I guess this is it. I'm going to miss you so much."

Before I walk out, I hugged them. This is the first time I performed a hug. So this is how it feels when you hug someone, there is love... that love that I was denied of since childhood. Back then, I only see people hugging each other in television.

Maiko: "Keep in touch, okay?"

As I opened the door, the servant takes my luggage. I looked at the couple once again, with Auntie crying. And then for the first time in several years, I shed a tear.

I'll be back... as a better person. Goodbye...

...Mom and Dad. Auntie and Uncle are my parents now.

Dream Alliance 3 Teaser:

As my way of thanking for your time and support for my creations, I have decided to release a tease... a glimpse of the upcoming Dream Alliance 3. Though I should point out that these will not appear in the main story, as they are the events that will lead to that story. And these "teasers" would be released after each chapter of The Boom as a break.

Hey guys, how's it been? Sorry if I hadn't been able to share my stories with you, since I have lots of taping schedules for the next season of Motoring Weekly. Plus, we all have to meet the deadlines.

For today though, Takanori isn't around. Great... work will be slower, and more boring without him.

Takuma: Ït's always a dead air inside without Takanori around."

Nobuyuki: "Yeah, you always have fun bullying him. The other day, he did bring a red cape should he sense that you will "fighting bull charge" at him again. Look. it's even hanging on his chair.

Takuma: "Didn't notice that."

Nobuhiko: "Where did Takanori-san go, anyway?"

Takuma: "He's in Tsukuba Circuit right now, trying to conquer his fear...

Oh boy, Takanori shouldn't really rush things. Conquering fear doesn't take one sitting.

Suddenly, someone calls me up... it's Kaido on the other line. What does he want? No one wants to be disturbed during work. It'd better be important.

Takuma: "Hello?"

Kaido: "Oh hey, sorry if I called at a bad time. But this is important to you, anyway."

Takuma: "Better make it quick. I have tons of work to accomplish and I have a taping shortly."

Kaido: "The restoration is almost done. There's only one piece missing in the puzzle. The engine."

Takuma: "Oh I almost forgot about that. Don't worry, I already have a source. There will be a crate arriving in your shop in a week or two."

Kyoko: "Hello, Hiramoto residence, how may I help you? Oh... I see. Hey Hiroyuki! Someone wants to talk to you!"

Hiroyuki grabs hold of the phone as his wife continues her chores.

Hiroyuki: "Oh hello? Yes, this is Hiroyuki....

I'll guarantee you, that our deal will be very worth it, and that you made the right decision to sponsor us. Once again, thank you for the sponsorship, as my team and I were having difficulties sourcing a car for the FIA GT3 championship. We will not let you down."

Chapter 2

Western Expedition

With Michiharu now part of Gan's team, he seeks to learn more about the world of speed. He and his team have now settled in Europe, the birthplace of racing. Challenges lie ahead, as Michiharu will be exposed in different types of racing, and will be driving a different type of car as well.

Page 1 - Blocked

I am now part of Gan's team... It's all happening so fast. To think I just left Kyoto and then this happened. What could have I been if I just stayed there? So this is the start of my new life, a life filled with thrills and its risks associating it. My stay in his team will definitely be a learning experience for me. I can't just be stuck in Japan, you know? Even you have to go out of your way just to learn new things, right?

Oh by the way, I have arrived in Europe, along with the team. Gan brought Tomoko's Stratos to represent the team, but Ben also brought his black Lamborghini in a separate flight, and he also volunteered to let us use his home in Switzerland called the Chalet and it would be our base of operations. And I must say, it's a very nice house viewing the mountains. The weather, thankfully, is similar to Japan. This is my first time be out of the country, so pardon me if I act like some dummy.

I wake up early in the morning as usual, but as I headed downstairs, I see Tomoko already awake and is outside enjoying the view of the mountains. But where is Gan and Ben, though?

Tomoko: "Oh there you are! Good morning! It's really nice to see the Alps, regardless of any time of the day!"

Michiharu: "The Alps?"

Tomoko: "Mmm-hmm. It's a mountain range covering France, Switzerland, Italy, and Germany."

Judging from what she's saying, it's obvious that she travels a lot.

Michiharu: "I guess you've been here too."

Tomoko:
"A few years ago, yes. This is one of the perks of being a racer."

Michiharu:
"So I'll be seeing more of this often, huh? And the weather is nice."

Tomoko:
"That's true."

Michiharu:
"Oh, where are those two?"

Tomoko:
"They left early as they have something to arrange. It's all so sudden, as we should be driving in a race track for today."

Michiharu:
"So what are the other plans for today, then?"

Tomoko:
"Hmmmmmm.... how about you drive the Stratos?"

Michiharu:
"Huh? But..."

Tomoko:
"We're going to represent the team using that car, so you must know how to drive it fast! Oh, for starters, forget everything you used to do in your GT-R, as the Stratos drives completely different."

Why? And without further adieu, she held my hand... wait, she just held my hand? And then dragged me to the car. But the moment she held my hand, my hear started to beat faster...

Tomoko:
"Get in. You'll be driving."

Michiharu:
"But..."

Tomoko:
"Relax! I'll teach you. We've got the whole day! The roads surrounding this house make a perfect practice ground."

I started the engine... and just like the GT-R, it's also carbureted. I can tell it from the sound.

Tomoko: "As soon as we get out from this garage, accelerate."

Michiharu:
"I might break this car..."

Tomoko:
"Hey! You didn't land in this team for nothing! You have skill, and trust in yourself!"

Thanks to my upbringing in the past, things like "self-confidence" are not in my vocabulary. I have that mindset that I'm worthless, and that I have no purpose in this world.

So while I accelerate the car, I feel something different. This sense of speed... it's on a different level! It's close to Gan's Ferrari!

Tomoko: "Surprised? Well, this car weighs 980 kilograms! Lightness is also the key to a fast car!"

Then I tried cornering at that hairpin nearby. However... whoa! It snaps out of control easily! She's right, what I usually do in the GT-R is not applicable in the Stratos! As soon as I step on the accelerator, the rear breaks out! I have to be reflexive and apply opposite lock immediately!

12612240143_69b9b3eb9b_c.jpg

Michiharu: "What's this? This car is wild!"

Tomoko: "I told you, forget everything you do in your GT-R. Whatever you do in that car is useless in this car."

12612237743_4974361ffd_c.jpg

Michiharu:
"And this car is really fast... as fast as Gan's Ferrari, I think."

Tomoko: "This car will be modified further to competition specifications. I'm really excited for that!"

She's getting excited over a car that's already difficult to control especially that it would be faster in the future? Wait, she knows this car far more than I do...

At the next corner, the car is getting cranky once again. I just let off the throttle to stop it from losing control. At this rate, she can laugh at me...

...but she didn't.

12612233523_d82d31502d_c.jpg

Tomoko: "This takes me back the day I first drove this car, and I understand your situation right now."

12612543164_128423b815_c.jpg

Approaching the corner, I braked, and then I gradually applied the throttle while entering the corner, but then the car decided not to cooperate... and there it goes.

12612225063_7b35e416a0_c.jpg

I stopped the car, just inches before the guardrail. Whew...

Tomoko: "It's okay. I spun out this car too. I already know your mistake. It's the steering. This car needs careful steering.

The Stratos is actually one of the best handling cars ever made, however, it takes patience and skill to access that kind of handling. The short wheelbase of this car is the main culprit, too short if you ask me.

I think Gan-san would even recommend you hone your driving skills using this car. This will improve your skills further. You'll never be able to learn the art of car control without driving cars like this. In the future, you might be even driving a similar type of car."

Hmmmm... I noticed that the car's steering is sharper than the GT-R. And maybe that's the cause why it's also easy to lose control.

Michiharu: "I noticed that the car turns sharper than the GT-R."

Tomoko: "That's because this car is Mid-Engined!"

Michiharu: "Mid... Engined?"

Tomoko: "I'm thinking that you are thinking that this car's engine is at the front. Well, you're wrong. That's because the engine is right behind us!"

Whoa... so you can put the engine right behind you? What are the merits for that? Damn... I need to learn more about cars if I want to succeed in this field!

Tomoko: "Let's head home first and explain that. Besides, I need to go to the bathroom..."

Michiharu: "Oh... okay."

Good thing we're just nearby the house, and when we arrived, Ben and Gan are inside the house now. I wonder where they went...

Ben: "You drove the Stratos?"

Michiharu: "Yes..."

Ben: "Was it easy?"

Michiharu: "No..."

Ben: "Of course it isn't. No one in this planet would say it's easy to drive."

Gan: "Everyone, gather in the dining area! We have to discuss something very distressing."

Something wrong? Gan's face isn't what I can call "happy". Clearly there's something wrong...

Gan: "Listen up. I have some very bad news. It turns out that we cannot participate in any type of race in this continent."

Tomoko:
"Oh no... why?

Ben:
"My father. He pulls the strings here, that's why. And I gotta apologize to you, that you are involved in this mess right now in which I should have been the only one dealing with it."

When you have the money, you have the power. You have the power to control everything... Whatever happened between Ben and his father, this is not right. We didn't come all the way here for nothing!

Gan: "But we won't stop here and go back home. I have dreams to fulfill too! And we shall all be seeing our dreams fulfilled!"

Ben: "Don't worry. I promise you... this will be fixed in time. My old man clearly wants me back, so much so that he'll do everything."

And then Ben suddenly leaves... and by the looks of it, he's the most disappointed one. I can feel for him, and the burden he's carrying right now. So we have the same type of father, huh? Rotten to the very core.

Ben decides to let off steam by doing hot laps at a race track nearby. He tightens his grip on the wheel, disappointed, but more determined at the same time.

12612222513_8ffa3db502_c.jpg

Ben: "You can take anything away from me if you want, if that's how you play it. But..."

12612529034_7a40ea9805_c.jpg

Ben:
"...you have no right to take away my dreams. I have my dreams of my own, and I cannot just be forever stuck behind you!"

12612525074_1777d77d28_c.jpg

Ben: "Shaw... yes, I'm calling you Shaw right now. You are sorely mistaken if you think that I will return home after what you've done right now. You think that can stop me? Don't make me laugh, I know that you can do better than that."

He returns to the pit lane and then started to smoke a cigarette as he leans on his car. Then he sees a green Lotus Europa Special speeding along the main straight.

12612522304_2df136f5e4_c.jpg

Ben: "Brandon Hatch... keep that up."

12612108975_47d98b978a_c.jpg

Lotus Europa Special, a car still being feared for its lightweight frame which is Colin Chapman's philosophy of "Simplify, then add Lightness". It may have a modest power output, but it weighs around 700 kilograms which makes it a true performance machine on both road and track.

12612515814_0d09cb2941_c.jpg

It is Lotus' first mid-engined production car, and its name, "Europa" was a marketing strategy to sell it to the whole continent, as the company tried to expand its sales on the mainland.

12612200353_356a5c0d96_c.jpg

The "Special" is the highest performing variant of the S2 Europa model, being the most powerful among them.

The car returns to the pit lane as well.

12612100435_f19fa1690b_c.jpg

The driver, Brandon, sees Ben and happily approaches him.

Brandon: "Sir Ben, you're back!"

Ben: "Don't call me with a "Sir", as I am not knighted, and you are skilled enough for you to call me by my first name only."

Brandon: "Good thing you are back. You know what happened?"

Ben: "Of course, and that's just Shaw's desperate attempt to make me return to the family. He deserves to be alone, and no wonder why my mother divorced him."

Brandon: "If there's anything I can do to help..."

Ben: "Don't bother, or your arse will be involved too. I am feeling guilty for my team right now, as they are also pulled in to this mess.

But I will stop him. It's time to face him and end this travesty right now!"

Hiroyuki arrives at the check-in counter, holding a rather large suitcase. After getting his boarding pass and checked in his baggage, he had done all the airport procedures and then headed straight to a cafe. However, the cafe is closed and Hiroyuki lets out a sigh. Instead, he immediately heads to the boarding gate and sits down, taking out a book from his smaller bag.

He remembers something, something that made him come to the airport...

Kaido: "Hiroyuki, just a friendly advice... You want to move up, right? Then go out and explore the world! And for once, throw away your lone wolf persona...

...you'll never succeed in life alone, trust me. No person in this world achieved greatness alone."

Hiroyuki: "I didn't say that I want to be the greatest person in the world, nor I shut out on everybody. Why are we friends, then? I just want to broaden my experiences, and after all this country is getting boring."

Kaido: "Boring, eh? Well, why don't you race in Europe? A friend of mine called me a month ago, knowing that I am aspiring to be a racer, that I should give it a try there, but perhaps it's not meant for me. I think a racer like you should put off steam there."

Hiroyuki: "I'll see. But I can't be stagnant, either. After all, some random guy named Michiharu challenged me to a race, and he is already part of a racing team. I need to raise the hurdle for him, I want to be faster than what I am right now. I can't slack off."

Kaido: "Then you really should go there. I'll arrange a meeting for you and my friend in Germany. I'll call him right after this conversation. He is like me, a crazy mechanic. He is responsible for victories of most racing teams around Europe. Maybe that will be a good start."

Hiroyuki: "I'll head off to Europe, then. That sounds interesting."

After that brief nostalgia, Hiroyuki looks around and checks if he is at the right boarding gate.

Hiroyuki:
"Frankfurt, Germany - 12 am departure. That's about right.

I wonder what's in store for Europe? So I shall meet a man named Alessandro Rossi.

And...

...maybe I'll cross paths with him once again. I wonder what had he become?"

Brandon has participated a race open for aspiring racers. However, it's filled with high-powered competition.

Living up to the title he bestowed upon, he puts on pressure while chasing after.

And swiftly makes a pass.

He sets his sights on the race leader, a Ferrari Boxer.

12655934684_edf0379627_c.jpg

While the Ferrari has more power, the Lotus however takes advantage of its lightweight frame to keep up. Brandon brakes late to capitalize on the advantage.

12655591273_eb8d50e07a_c.jpg

Brandon: "Got you. Lightness rules the day! This is proper British engineering!"

He once again brakes late to overtake the opponent and then the Lotus shows off its cornering potential.

12655926734_8a74046b02_c.jpg

The checkered flag has been waved, Brandon takes the victory.

He returns to the pit lane, and then all of a sudden Sir Shaw appears before him, smiling. The racing veteran apparently took interest in Brandon's recent victories.

Sir Shaw: "Excellent performance, I expect nothing less from The Werewolf."

Brandon: "Thank you sir, its such an honor hearing that from you."

Sir Shaw: "I know you have been under the tutelage of my son, but I would propose that you should be under my wing, as I see your skills can take you further, and I can help you manage them."

Brandon: "That's a very nice offer sir, but as much as I want to accept it, I already have a manager."

Sir Shaw: "Let's get straight here, you know where Ben is, right? Your future is at stake if you tell a lie, and lying is bad."

Suddenly, Sir Shaw sees a discarded cigarette land on his shoe.

Ben: "And who gave you the right to meddle with other people's lives? Just because you're a respected figure, doesn't mean you can control anyone. Brandon is out of the picture here, and so does my teammates."

Sir Shaw: "Finally... you showed up. Did my stunt upset you?"

Ben: "I knew all along that you want me back, and to think you are that desperate. For someone to have a "Sir" in your name, that's rather low."

Sir Shaw: "I'll forget everything you did if you return home right now. This is the opportunity."

Ben: "And then what, make me your puppet again? All the strings you've attached to me are now gone."

Sir Shaw: "Molding you into my image is the best thing you could ever have."

Ben: "You're you and I'm me. Simple as that. The world doesn't need another Sir Shaw. A Sir Shaw that's selfish and conceited.

I have no time to waste here. Come, Brandon. Let's head out."

The two immediately head out, and then they see this particular car at the parking lot. Ben asked Brandon to stop the car and the step out to take a good look.

12655922334_0bed30af4a_c.jpg

Brandon: "What's with this car?"

Ben: "Shaw's weapon of choice."

Brandon: "A GT40 is rather too much, don't you think?"

Ben: "Every single thing in this world has their own share of weaknesses. I have prepared myself for this."

Ben: "I have modified my Countach to take on this car. Plus, I shall show him...

...the true skill of Ben McCarthy!"

AUTHOR'S NOTES:

As promised, I shall show you my Top 5 favorite cars from all of my fanfics. I shall post them one by one, in ascending order.

5. Tomoko's Lancia Stratos

12655917724_16609277f6_c.jpg

Why not Michiharu's Hakosuka GT-R? Nor Hiroyuki's 2000GT? Don't get me wrong, I have developed fondness for Japanese classic cars, but when it comes to the driving aspect, this Lancia Stratos takes the cake. The Stratos tests or even brings out the driver in you. Not just that, it also tests your tuning ability on how to make this car cooperate with you. A short wheelbase has been proven to have better handling, but too short of it, and the fact that the Stratos is mid-engined, can be a recipe for disaster... or perhaps fun?

It could be both. It could be disastrous since a mid-engined car has a smaller room for error than a front-engined one, and a short wheelbase could easily induce oversteer. These factors made this car a chore to drive. But practice makes perfect, right? It could be fun because you can take advantage of its snap oversteer and you can drift all day! Master this car, and it is actually a great cornering machine. No wonder this car is a legend in the WRC.

This car makes it in the list since I find it very fun to drive and I believe that I can control other cars better whenever I use this car. Plus its looks make you think it's from the future, similar in case to the Lamborghini Countach. That's Marcello Gandini for you, the designer of timeless machines.

A helpful tip? You can start by altering the weight distribution. The game incorrectly (once again) set the Stratos' weight distribution to 44:56, wherein the real car has 46:54 (source here). You can start from there and alter the suspension and brakes to your liking, preferably with the 7 front and 3 rear brake balance and a low LSD setting.

The 4th place will be revealed in the next page. Any wild guesses?

Along with the guesses above, i also nominate Ben to Sonny to Ben to Takanori's R34 GT-R Racing Edition! :D

I was about to make a rant about a certain multi hundred thousand dollar GT40 (at that time today, it averages at more than a million dollars). But i decided not to.

Page 3 - Self-Proclaimed Rival

A few days later, Brandon has once again participate a race, this time a city street race in Spain. Plus, he had his Europa repainted into black, since he wants to have the same color as his mentor's car does.

However, he is anxious, not because of the difficulty of the race but...

Brandon: "Sir Ben has a theory.... that the car, and the driver can be one. But I'm anxious, am I the one he's looking for? Am I the perfect example?

Whatever it is, I'll be the one!"

A few days have gone by... and nothing happened. I guess this trip is a waste after all. Tomoko, on the other hand, is very happy to find out that her car is further modified.

Hence, she takes it out for a ride...

...and she dragged me along once again.

12720579565_f050f27815_c.jpg

Tomoko: "Ohhhhhhh! This is great!"

She's really happy about it. And she has the car under control!

12720730463_629902005f_c.jpg

Tomoko: "We can now compete properly with this car! The changes are great! I can control it better!"

She gets to say that? And the car is even faster! I was even struggling the first time I drove it!

Tomoko: "Maybe the next time you'll drive this, it will be easier for you."

Michiharu: "Huh? But I think it would take me a bit longer to get used to this car. After all, it's even faster."

Tomoko: "You do have a point there, but the purpose of tuning a car is to make the driver feel at ease, since it should be a better car. Less stress could mean better performance from the driver."

12720575845_98f675f2d2_c.jpg

Then suddenly, she held my hand, and we're changing gears together!

Tomoko: "It's really fun and engaging, right? To move this gear lever."

Michiharu: "I guess so."

Tomoko: "You know, cheer up for once! You're always serious and sometimes even sad. Happiness can contribute to success, you know? It doesn't matter what background you came from, just as long as you smile, it'll all be worth it! You'll make friends that way!"

12720573585_1ebd3ccf6a_c.jpg

Tomoko: "You know what, let's spend this day... just being together! I'll cheer you up! For starters, I shall treat you to a restaurant nearby."

Whoa... did I hear it right? We're going to spend the entire day just the two of us? Gulp...

Meanwhile, Ben and Gan are at the house overviewing the alps, and they see a speck of Tomoko's Stratos running along.

Ben: "Just so you know, my Countach LP400 can back you up should things go hairy."

Gan: "I am confident that the modifications on the Stratos will help a lot."

Ben: "But you have my permission to use my Lamborghini. I'm part of your team now, so I gotta contribute."

Gan: "By the way, have you talked to your father?"

Ben: "I got a call from the racing organization yesterday that we can finally participate in races. But I can sense that there is a catch for all of this. That's why... I shall face off with my father immediately, once and for all, so that he can leave us alone."

Gan: "Good luck with that."

Ben: "My father's ideals have flaws. I never thought for a single moment that they are perfect."

Gan: "What about you? What about your ideals?"

Ben: "Once I'm done racing, I shall lead a team, that will live on by my example. I shall lead a group of handpicked individuals who I sense that have the potential...

...to become One Beings."

Gan: "One Beings?"

Ben: "I am currently writing on a theory about the "One Being", the racer that combines himself and the car to form a single entity that shall dominate the racing world. My father believes that a racer must be perfect, and I don't agree with that... everyone has flaws, obviously. He lives on perfection, and that's why I was once his so-called, "puppet" that was to be molded in his image. Fed up with that, and I ran away from home to continue on my theory.

A driver's flaws can be covered by the car, and the car's flaws will be eliminated by the driver - that's the simplest way of explaining my theory."

Gan: "That's deep..."

**********************************************************************************

12720724323_6a121ed436_c.jpg

After that brief run, we stopped by at the restaurant. My hear beats fast once again, as I stare at her waiting for our orders to arrive. She's getting more attractive... and her navy blue hair.... is probably her best looking asset.

Tomoko: "What's wrong? Is there something on me? You keep on staring..."

Michiharu: "Ummmm... you look great, that's why."

Tomoko: "I'm sure you're waiting for the right moment to say it, huh? Oh well, don't be so shy about your feelings, either. It won't hurt to be expressive. Say what's in your head or your heart. Talking helps letting off things from your chest.

But thank you for your compliment. I was waiting for Hiroyuki-san to say that, actually. But..."

Michiharu: "He ignores you."

Tomoko: "That's okay. I have already gotten over it. You know...

...I feel great whenever you're with me. You make me smile all the time."

Michiharu, your heart. Careful! It's beating at an alarming rate!

Suddenly though, I see a red sports car stopping behind our car. And that has a loud exhaust note too.

12721019564_65df9e2429_c.jpg

Tomoko: "Oh look! A Dino!"

Michiharu: "Dino?"

A woman steps out from it, and she's just attractive as the car as well, with a blonde, big hair... Then she looks at our car briefly, and then enters the cafe.

Tomoko: "It's such a rare opportunity to see those two cars together. They share the same engine!"

But they are from different companies, right? How is that possible?

12721015904_ce17ab7fbf_c.jpg

Well, spare the questions for later. Time to eat! Pasta tastes good after all, and this is the first time I have eaten a foreign delicacy.

After half an hour, we stood up after paying the bill. It's all on her... man, I should make it up to her next time. A gentleman should be treating the woman, right?

As we are about to enter the car, the Dino's female driver approached us. Total stranger, if you ask me...

"You have such a nice Stratos, girl. And I assume that you are from a racing team, since I see a racing team sticker at the back of your car."

Tomoko: "Indeed we are from a racing team all the way from Japan, and this is the car that will represent us."

"Pardon me if I just came out from nowhere. I take interest in Lancia Stratoses. My name is Carmela Agostini, also a race car driver."

Tomoko: "Oh, you're a race car driver too? It's nice to know that there are growing number of female racing drivers around the world."

Carmela: "I feel the same too. But there is something that differentiates us...

...our cars. Seeing a Stratos sets my spirit on fire. I absolutely cannot lose against it.

Let's face it, Ferrari engines are meant for Ferraris only. But really, why would a bankrupt company such as Lancia would be so desperate to have it installed on their sports cars?

Plus, you are just making your life miserable since it's hard to control. Oh well, since you made it this far, I assume you are very skilled with it.

See you on the race tracks... and I show no mercy against the Lancia Stratos. You are now my rival..."

Tomoko: "I have grown to love it, as this is the car I've driven since the start of my career. I never let go of it. So what if it has the same engine as your Dino?

Ben is right, Ferrari owners are nothing but self-conceited beings thinking their cars are the most exclusive and most desirable in the world.

It was nice seeing another female racing car driver, but I cannot waste my time talking to you. Excuse us, we must go."

We immediately get in our car. Whoa... Tomoko is serious now. I have no idea what's the history behind these two cars...

...but if I were her, I'd show no mercy either.

4. DREAM ALLIANCE LOTUS ELISE

12721017754_3be490cf98_c.jpg

The Dream Alliance Elise (or rather, Nobuhiko's Elise) takes the Number 4 spot. And you're probably thinking they bought another one.

It's not. The reason? Nobuhiko crashed the Elise during the events before TG: DA3, and it shall be posted after this chapter. After that crash, Hiroyuki decided to have it fixed, and voila, this is the result. You'll be seeing this in the future, trolling supercars and racing cars once again. :D

But let's take a moment to remember the Elise 111R RM and its glory days... of changing its colors.

I have always loved the Lotus Elise. That car is always out there, proving to the car world that less means more. What's also impressive is the maximum PP level once you've maxed it out, at around 580 PP, which is more than the fully-tuned Elise 111R Race Car! It also accelerates better, and with the Flat Floor installed, can also corner as great. I have won the Rainmasters Nurburgring Race using this car, and it's such a glorious moment whenever I pass a Ferrari FXX with this car. It is that epic, and I also use it in the World Circuit Tour races should I need to farm credits.

The 3rd placer is definitely more exciting to drive than this one. So stay tuned for the next page to find out.

Good day, readers!

As of this writing, I shall put this story on hiatus, as I am hoping that the next update would have "Lounge" with it. I need to do duels, and I cannot just ask a volunteer who would actually buy a car just for those, and there are cars in this story that are expensive as hell.

Don't worry, I won't kill this story off like what I did in the past. It will go on.
