It reminds me of a Ford GT somewhat.
I think you mean the GT40, which was also made around the same time and also was designed by a texan:) .

to me, its an interesting looking car. I have not had the chance to drive it, but seeing as its from the around the same the GT40 was, I would think it should handle somewhat the same.

What do you guys think of it, yay or nay?

I say it's great since it's one of the easiest cars to drive fast due to its light weight and 3 speed transmission.

I agree, brilliant car. Lightweight and fast.

I also like the fact that you can get it up to 100 mph in first gear.

Whoops, I was thinking about the 2J. Haven't really driven the 2D much.

I don't see a point in that car when a car like the 2J out classes him all the way. But just by looking at it, it looks like it handles a tad bit better.

Are you sure you didn't mean the 2J (unofficially known as the 'sucker car?')

I do like the 2D as well. Chaparral was in the habit of looking for as many ways to exploit the rules as possible back in the day, aerodynamics being one of the biggest ones. It's been awhile since I drove a 2D, I'm forgetting how PD's rendering of it plays out in GT4, but the 2J is a monster around those corners. 👍

Hi Racecar,

I'm not sure what you mean't by the Gt40 being designed by a texan!! Do you mean Carroll Shelby? Or were you joking?
As far as i'm aware the Gt40 was an Evolution of the Lola Mk6, That some say was the most advanced racecar at that time, and involved 3 main designers.

Roy Lunn from Ford - Born in England
Eric Broadley of Lola Cars - Born in England
John Wyer left Aston Martin to help with the Ford Project - Born in England

As far as the Chapparal is concerned, I found the 3 gears to be a pain but the top speed ( especially on the Le sarthe track ) to be fantastic.

I did mean Carroll shelby, but admittingly I linked him to the wrong variant as he was only involved in the Mark IV's design when it was being built in America while you're reffering to the designers of the Mark I and Mark II cars.

Ahh, right o.k.

I wasn't trying to be a know-it-all, I also thought shelby had something to do with it until I saw a programme the other year.
