I'll be honest with you. I actually liked the front of the car except for the front grill design and the hood design. It's whimsical at best. The taillights are okay, but the rear bumper (or lack thereof) is really going to lose some points in the rear-end crash impact category. The rear windshield is too high up. It's a horrid design. Don't you want as much rear view as possible? This thing would look better if that acordion-like rear was closed (if at all possible). This isn't a very pretty car.
Out of 100% approval, I'm giving this design 40%. The reason why I didn't give it a much lower score is because there are a lot of design elements I like to this car. Trouble is, the overall flow is completely off. I'm giving Chinese auto makers a chance because if they want to offer quality vehicles to China and the world, China really needs to have some people either teach them the ins and outs of design, or just simply look for much better artists. I don't hate China for these designs. I'm giving them a chance as a citizen of the world for car design. I still believe they should study from Korean and Japanese makes to learn how to style a car. The first emphasis is style. Next, you want to look at safety. You can build the most beautiful car in the world, but you need to design it so that they are made much safer to be in and drive. I heard of one Chinese company made an SUV that got a 0 for their safety rating. I'm not looking for cheap laughs and quick rants like someone on that blog site said. This tag is going to be on China for as long as they are making cars: "Made in China." Well, what if China produced a series of five-star, Triple-A, gold standard automobiles that the world enjoys driving and owning? Would the "Made in China" joke be dead? China doesn't have to represent cheapness. Chinese auto makers are still on Home Plate swinging at breaking balls and sliders. They have yet to bat a Home Run, much less a Grand Slam. It's going to take time and effort for China to really shine. Over time, Japan has succeeded. Korea has succeeded. Even Malaysia has suceeded. China's time will come. A lot needs to change between now and then for that vision to become a reality.
